those early EPs are actually quite good

Bigger Stronger - Excellent

hopefully Radiohead will return the favour on their tour

do a cover of 1999 or something. Ha.

Foals are a gateway band to even better ones

just like Busted were a gateway band for millions of school children who probably are into Foals by now...

that video is shit

shitshitshit

Like- E- Lie

that's how i say it, and i don't really care if i'm wrong.

i think if it's a colour

it will be yellow.

i remember reading something a few years ago about the colour of the sleeves on the cassettes to their early demos. one was blue, one was green and one was yellow.

Feel free to laugh at me when this gets proved wrong.

indeed

enjoyed that set very much, he had loads of energy and was so captivating on stage. really cool.

the ladies seem to like them.

not all, but quite a few i've met. :D

Don't worry though, i'm going to single handedly bring back the trend for those mega baggy jeans which were popular between about 1999-2002. Just give it a few months until it gets a bit warmer...

very good album.

they've moved on musically, yet they have still retained a pop sensibility and lyrically i think it is fantastic. Beautiful written.

i went to see them yesterday and they performed the album track by track (with the exception of Twenty One). They've got some work to do to get used to working with stems/backing tracks but yeah, they were pretty good.

haha

you have no idea what you're talking about.

They have been going for years and years. I've seen one of their early demo cds and the cover photo is of them standing around trying to look moody (they couldn't have been more than 14, except for the dad of course!).

Manufactured. Ha.

I also thought the first album was rubbish, that's why they didn't live up to the hype in in my opinion rather than their "gimmick". but the quality of the new album isn't just down to Erol Alkan. Have you heard the new Long Blondes album? It's gash mate, just going to show that you can't polish a turd, no matter how slick the producer is.

so much of this is hillarious

one of many highlights;

How does it make you feel though when you listen back through all of your work?
Sometimes I put them all on shuffle mode on iTunes. Mostly I only listen to them all when I feel like having a good cry. I open up the memorial book of Princess Diana and I put on the whole collection of my entire works and I look at the mounds of flowers at Buckingham Palace gates and I just weep.

:D :D :D

Ketermine

Ha.

i don't get it

i thought they were doing sessions with that klaxons/SMD producer guy originally?

I don't mind them as band, but Faris just annoys me, trying to come across as this social outcast and weirdo yet he's out practically all the time trying to get recognized. Now he's going out with Peaches Geldof. Does this make him the indie Peter Andre? Haha.

I'll be interested to hear the results of this anyway.

haha

i don't really like the arctic monkeys but i really like this new song he has done, and i'm quite looking forward to hearing the album.

So in this case, yay for side projects!

could you make a thread listing your 100 worst songs you've ever heard?

I would genuinely like to read it.

couldn't disagree more

that song is one of the best "indie pop" songs i've heard in ages. a lovely little love song that is super catchy, but not annoyingly so.

This from a band who's first album i rather strongly disliked.

they're playing Durrr in a few weeks too

I didn't care much for the first album but of the few songs i've heard from this album it's going to be fantastic.

barry off eastenders

done and done.

a boring devo rip off

is too good for them.

that "gaylords" bit was funny though.

i remember these two were in the papers a few years ago

saying exactly the same thing. it's strange they're only taking legal action now, though.

Swords of Truth

they used some of the music and words from the demo version of C16 in Swords of Truth ("Who wrote all the numbers in your body" bit) so it was probably that.

When i saw them a week or so back they didn't play C16 or Infinity Ytinifni either. I enjoyed the set though.

i was almost sick

when he started doing his impression of a guitar solo.

does it offend you, yeah? are playing twice!

yay!

ha

oops i just read that note

dammit

Astoria 14th,

charrs

my band mate

plays bass on about half the songs.

one of the songs was recorded in his kitchen. He lives in Angel. Which when i last checked, was in North London.

HA

^this

Rivers you little bitch takin' it from the man!

But yeah my question got asked, hopefully we got more demo albums (with more sftbh songs) soon!

SUPERFLY!

...ahem

Vicky did well!

aww. she looked well happy. and quite drunk. haha

its not on the album either

at least not in it's full unedited glory.

there there?

*bada boom tish*

my work mate went to chelsea with Jack

she said he seems really shy and awkward. She asked him for the time or something once and he had a little bit of a fit. Aw.

I really really like them, can't wait for this album.

also they are rubbish djs too.

well, at least the technical side of it. They can't seem to get their heads around the idea of beat-matching and seem pretty oblivious to what exactly a crossfader is.

They write good dance music though, and that is the main thing.

they're great though.

This cat's got claws!

I helped form Ipso Facto.

FACT...O

oh fuck i was at that BSP thing too

yah another highlight. Im really excited actually.

i used to stand at that bus stop for 5 years to get the bus to school

i really like the venue though, i've saw so many bands there when i was 15/16. Highlight was seeing the Cooper Temple Clause there. Oceansize too.

ive heard things about tim jonze before

he actually seems alright. One of my friends (Gen, she posts on here still i think and she writes fantastic reviews from time to time) i believe she said something along the lines of "your magazine is shit" and all this and he was all like "Yeah, im just there for the money" and stuff like that.

"Incontinent pants"

I got a pair of those

I'd say they are a slightly more pretentious version...

of Carter USM.

I haven't listened to XFM for about 3 years. I do miss John Kennedy and Eddie Temple Morris though.

it was a tenner in fopp too

mmhmm.

can't wait for the cd though.

i'm going on the sunday

Hoorar!

fuckin'el

YEAAAAAAH

Haha Ashcroft

No.

I reckon it will be Radiohead on friday, Led Zep or Springsteen Saturday, Kylie Sunday. Mmmhmm.
