Good Christ, no.
I would go with
Kode9 & Spaceape - Memories of the Future
Squarepusher - Ultravisitor
David Bowie - 1. Outside
Mogwai - Come On Die Young
Massive Attack - Mezzanine
'Cause everyone already has OK Computer and no-one ever needs a copy of fucking Definitely Maybe. If this was a ten, I'd include some Aphex Twin, Modern Life is Rubbish by Blur, and The Bug's new one.
Wait, what?
You mean you can't like The Bends *and* Kid A? Well shit, I wish someone had told me.
First 3, eh?
I'll take The Slip over The Fragile any day. Unless you're counting Broken as an album?
No chance.
Criminalising internet users hasn't worked so far, and we've enough to worry about with this government constantly peering over our shoulders. We've already got one unregulated, self-appointed web police group in the UK, I don't much fancy the idea of opening the door for any more of the shitters.
A taxation system worked out with the ISPs may work better, but rankles because nine times out of ten I buy a physical copy of what I've downloaded. I download to hear new releases before I hand over any money for something I may not like, and sometimes it benefits me to have a digital copy to tide me over until I can afford to purchase CDs or records. The thought of having to pay for something twice, or to pay for something I'm not going to keep, doesn't sit well with me.
Meh.
I have loved Biffy since 57, and was so excited for new albummage, but I have to agree with the review; Saturday Superhouse is arse.
I have to disagree with the reviewer on the Troublegum point, though; that album is every flavour of AWESOME, and this song doesn't manage that at all.
Pull down me pants, look up me bottom.
Informer! YESSSSS!
Low Miff.
Surely a reference to the Brasseye 'Mad' Frankie Fraser interview?
Pffft.
Bands deserving of Muse-crowd-sized adulation, and totally worthy of a Wembley support slot?
65daysofstatic
Boris
Aereogramme
Battles
Cougar
Pelican
Subtle
Islands
Xiu Xiu
Ted Leo & The Pharmacists
Venetian Snares (Personally, I'd piss myself - it'd be like when AFX fucked with a Björk crowd at Shepherds Bush in '03 x 1000)
Meh.
I know how Siamese Dream sounds, and I'd say it's brilliance is part youthful audacity, part brilliant songwriting; Corgan doesn't have either going for him right now. 'Cause he's a knob.
Eight guitars resonating in one big harmonic handshake?
So, that'll be a great load of wank, then. As if MACHINA wasn't sad enough, as if Zwan wasn't a waste of time, as if the Corgan solo album wasn't utter arsepiss.
Corgan is coccooned by his own colon. Smashing Pumpkins are well past their prime.
...
You say that as if Tommy is actually any good or something. "Rock Operas" are generally a very bad idea indeed. They're all overwrought, wanky fat vanity projects that are lauded by people who know fuck all about anything.

Arse.
