I saw John Robb's band in 1997 and they were utter shite.

In fact I had to Google Goldblade to make absolutely sure I wasn't getting confused by the name.

Who ever missed it on a Sleater-Kinney record? The first Hot Snakes album has no bass really.

Maybe an octaver bass thing on a couple of tracks but that's it. You don't really notice. SY have never head amazingly strong bass lines.

You're WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG!

This album is at least 11/10.

It fucking rules. Everyone should buy it.

That's all.

Midfield General!

Wow, is it 1998 again?

Well it's a bit irrational.

They have to endure being at Reading Festival after all.

"Nothing that is great can ever last. "

Either Sean's saying DiS isn't great or its days are numbered...

;-)

Can you post a link to the old DiS Radio pages?

I've never successfully found them all and I now realise I have a bunch of podcasts and bugger all idea what the tracklisting is on each of them. You used to have the special 'Radio' section where I could easily have tracked them down...

NO NO NO! HE SPOKE OUT!

HE PASSED A COMMENT! PEOPLE WILL HAVE TO STOP LIKING HIM LIKE THEY DO RADIOHEAD! HE'S NUMBER ONE SO HAVING ANYTHING LESS THAN AN AMAZING OPINION ON THIS MAKES HIM A TWAT!

Or something, apparently.

Face, journalist asked him what he thought and he told them.

Seems fair enough to me.

I don't get it

Huh?

I like it a lot too, but given how good the two Obits live recordings are

on their MySpace, I'm hoping they'll pull out an 8 or 9/10 album.

Not any more :(

You could also check out some Pitchfork

But that's not quite as good.

Well then

Drive Like Jehu - Yank Crime

Hot Snakes - Suicide Invoice. Or Audit in Progress. Or Automatic Midnight. Or Thunder Down Under.

I snore

I really like the album.

Surname you fuckhead!

Theo means god. Oh yes!

Word up! We're playing on the London show too.

That's Pocus Whiteface, I mean. Anyway: Excitement. May have to grab me one of these handmade albums.

He was amazing on Saturday at ATP.

I have the album but I've not had a chance to hear it yet. Kind of like Sigur Ros vocals on Alt. Country music, I thought.

Nice.

:)

Eh?

ACPG finishes with a quiet fade out and HTDC starts from a quiet fade in.

^^^ Yeah, this

This is a shit thing to happen to a band

and if it ever happens to me can I request any news stories NOT being a jokey 'shit happens' style?

Thanks.

That bit about the sequencer being the 'entire band' passed you by?

Well, I assume that's why they couldn't, anyway.

Agreed. Bastards

^ That

Isn't it the first time it's out on Wichita?

Previously it was import only, wasn't it? I'd guess we'll get all the LSF albums coming through over here but cheaper.

Hmm

Well 7 years ago Victoria Park was £25

That seemed a lot then.

I would disagree with Diver on this

which is a rarity but only to give it a 7/10.

However, that's definitely based on 'Early the Haste Comes'. I don't think Joy's much cop and I thought they seemed fairly dull when I saw them supporting Future of the Left.

Thanks to my ad blocker all I saw was this:

"It went a little something like this.
- - -
- - -
Thanks to our sponsor, Tuborg, for ensuring nobody got in on time the next day."

I actually thought that was better :D

Sailors! Great.

So that's pre-Zonino 3 entertainment sorted.

That's not why I don't get it

though it does make it weirder. I guess I think you should either do satire or surrealist humour. Trying to combine the two, unless you've the intellectual wit of Monty Python, is fruitless.

Moreover, the original thread is already comedy gold so taking the piss out of it is worthless.

I don't really get it.

I mean, I see it's meant to be satire but it's just rubbish.

Common misconception thanks to 'bitter lemon'.

Also the line in question is essentially a quote so it could be argued that it merely reflects real life.

Not that I have any liking for Kate Nash but I'm a fair person at heart. :D

Shame I already have the album

though these'll be an interesting listen nonetheless. :D
