Hail to the Chimp!

Ah, heard they had a female bassist.

Nice to know there's a new album on the way too, I certainly have room for more chimp in my life.

Sounds good from the review

Saw them live last year after picking up Hope For Men, preferred them live to on record.
Anyone know if they're planning on touring at some stage?

Seth Cohen

I reckons.

Woodytom = 1/10.

Confused teenager upset that one of the bands he likes isn't loved by everyone. Probably needs to get laid.

Health were pretty awesome,

shame about the gear malfunctions.
Some of the crowd were pretty Barley-esque though.

On about the 4th listen..

First half is much stronger than the 2nd, kind of loses energy a bit.
I think the production is maybe a bit compressed... the loud bits don't sound as loud when they kick in.
When the songs click there's not a band on the planet I love as much though..

I've never been able to find any Codeine stuff.

Stupid rubbish record shops.

Past Lives is my feel good hit of the summer sorted already.

Deserves more than 7 surely!

Nice to see Earth in there.

No Torche though, boo!

Roar

Torche - Meanderthal
Charlottefield - What Are Friends For?
Fucked Up - The Chemistry of Common Life
These Arms Are Snakes - Tail Swallower and Dove
Boris - Smile
TV On the Radio - Dear Science
Russian Circles - Station
Earth - Bees Made Honey In the Lions Skull

I heard that song repeatedly on Fifa 09.

and thought it was horribly generic ITV indie.

Hasn't got much balls, has it?

I went. It was totally awesome..

A History of Bad Men may well be one of the best riffs ever.
My ears were also ringing afterwards.. I blame all the dual drummer shenanigans.

LAME

Yes

They never fail to make me laugh. But in a good way.

Improving functionality? Ace.

Though I've heard rumours that BSkyB may be doing a joint venture with Sugardaddie.com...

What is a 'body kinetic dancefloor?'

Sounds pretty X-Treem.

No Nottingham dates.

GGRRRRRRRRRR.

I've never seen these before..

they're ace! Especially the guy who you can't tell if he's asleep or not..

Awesome!

If I'm out of the country when they tour I'm going to be miffed..

A part of me died when I read this:

"Musically there were a number of new influences that inspired me while I was writing, bands like Yeasayer, Fleet Foxes, and Dirty Projectors. None of these bands are making ‘rock’ music, per se, but then I haven’t heard a particularly inspiring rock album in ages."

Play loud.

If you're not satisfied- turn up the volume.
Repeat ad infinatum.

They'd better be.

If they don't, it may seem that DiS is a riff free zone, and I will have to exodus to Thrash Hits' comments section.

Did anyone else think

the new Melvins album didn't sound filthy enough?

I've yet to hear them

If Aaron's not still climbing on amps I'll be quite disappointed.

A) Mono

Good review.

Looking forward to hearing this now!

Ah yes. I remember that.

And getting soaked.

I think they should be remembered..

for XTRMNTR..

Reading roads clog up

regardless of whether the festival is on or not!

Look at the length of that guitar strap!

It's ridiculous!

I've not heard of the band before

but it was a good read!

Post history...

..hmmm..

Pitchforks out.

Sounds more like being kerbstomped..

I was at Field Day, and whilst that had it's problems there was enough good stuff to outweigh the bad. (Basically Electrelane, Liars, and finding a spot in the sun for a nap)

Having that many bands pull out, no clean toilets etc makes you wonder how the organisers got the backing to put the festival on in the first place. Not to mention what happened with the budgets... (the story of Mark Ronson being paid in pound coins is funny though)

Shocking

Surely there's quite bad health implications without there being drinking water? Something like that's more than a teething problem..

Wow, that looks terrible.

Organisers apparently marched off site? No drinking water on site after a while? Sounds like a complete mess.

Wow, that's 3 big acts

to pull out. Surely they can't not issue refunds, particularly as it doesn't look like there's not much to fill the gap.
