That downloaded in about two seconds. Incredible.
Are you reading 'Haunted' by any chance?
and drops their AC to 0.
Well done, Okkervil River!
A year and a half ago, all this boy was getting was good press. Now you'll struggle to find a positive sentence about him anywhere.
but I think you're wrong here. They're a good band.
They've been touring solidly for the last two and a bit years, and sound nothing like Amy Winehouse to my ears (a little more like Ani DiFranco in her upbeat moments, I thought). If this is a break, they deserve it because they've worked hard for it.
She's a shouter!
Cover yourself, woman!
Oh no, it's too late. I'm going to have to murder another prostitute now.
Cheers for that, Johansson.
Would have loved to have seen them then, they were right at the top of their game then.
Good to see Spoon getting the Top 5 love they deserve, too.
From out of Nowhere by Faith no More and and Appetite for destruction for me.
Thanks to my sisters vinyl collection. Cheers sis!
Both of these discs have already been issued separately (The remaster has been out a while, and the bonus disc was originally a tribute album on the 10th [or 15th?]anniversary).
Weirder, I picked both up last year for 1-50 in total.
Dude looks like he'd struggle to make himself a sandwich these days.
Of the big music sites I could think of straight away, (DiS, Pitch, NME, Metacritic, AMG) AMG creams the others!
Metacritic is up there with Pitchfork & NME, and DiS is gaining slowly. Nice blip in September 2006 guys. Keep it up!
The number represents the overwhelming emptiness of being.
Watch them shit their pants in the scary bit (one will almost certainly faint), then leave without them.
an actual David Bowie mug, ideally Labyrinth era.
(see what I did there) with this.
No Spoon, LSF outside the top ten, Battles the only band I understand being in the top 5...
Where did it all go wrong?
He's playing Sunderland.
Biggest ticket in that town for years!
Can't wait for that one.
And they were pretty shit then to be honest. Can't imagine they've improved by losing half the band.
This = true
No really. Very useable. Like the instant replies.
I'm going snowblind thought.
Hats off for the bandname.
Read Neuromancer much, fellahs?
but then I figured no-one would want it as it'd been on Pitchfork already.
I was wrong.
He's not a bad lad. Needs to release a really, really good album this time, though.
"Musical Bosman". Heheh.
No need to panic. Got my Prince tix two weeks before.
That'll leave shitloads of time on the disc as well. No value at all.
Will keep the tenner, leave the ass insertion to the professionals.
That's cold. So cold.
and better live.
That line up is seriously poor.
You've got to make them in real time.
That's time, and effort.
Still have an amp and a tape deck gathering dust in Bromley...
Maybe one more tape... Just for old times sake.
New record's pretty good though.
Fun house, next door to the Michael Jackson childrens playground?
That's hot. Damn, damn hot.
It's just not a particularly good record either, especially when you compare it to the first one, which is.
I vaguely remember their records getting slated!
They're watchable, ok on record...
There are better bands out there, but don't even average bands deserve a second chance?
"For just 20p a day, you can sponsor a middling indie band, making sure they get a meal and all the neccessary vaccinations. Please. Just help..."
Throw down the gauntlet like that, dont be expecting no-one to pick it up.
That's a half assed boardroom memo.
They may as well have signed it Warners.
