I like them

despite what many indie snobs say.

Sure, doing press on them is like talking to a bunch of toddlers, but one of the most entertaining British bands this decade. Think the appeal's similar to the Mondays - a really spontaneous bunch of loose cannons whose actual music doesn't quite come out the way they intended it to sound. In short, chancers - but wonderful chancers.

To quote the Manics, "people who wouldn't give them credit were probably pussies picked on by their school PE teacher."

On second thoughts, they were talking about Northern Uproar... :-S

on Madeleine McCann..

.. well there is plenty of stuff to investigate, but they've cheapened this story of an innocent little girl so much by giving it blanket coverage that they've turned it into "non-news". Or something like that. Anyway, a debate for another day.

Calm down, mate.

That's the whole point - I was saying the Middle England tabloids would lap this story up. They're very good at pulling issues apart when there's nothing to investigate or have an opinion on. See also: Madeleine McCann.

It was a thinly-veiled satire at the Daily Mail/Express's supposed dislike of gay/black people ;-), but never mind.

I'd be interested to know

Which side the Daily Mail/Express will take!

Bloc Party starting to get uppity

It reminds me slightly of the BRMC sketch where they couldn't take a joke about an inflatable penis... your career declines here?

I agree, but music is so dire now

I'm actually feeling nostalgic for the Von Bondies! And other middle ranking garage bands like the Black Keys, and D4 :-S

Proves this decade

has given us all the problems of the 80s, and none of the benefits.
