Sorry
I'm not excited
Part of me
would love to see TCTC reform but only if they hit the same standard as 'See This Through…' and that ain't going to happen so lets let sleeping dogs lie eh.
Where the hell…
is The Salmon Dance?!
I remember seeing Johnny Flynn…
…support Laura Marling and spent most of the set gawping at his sister :) She's cute.
Oooo!
This is good, very good indeed. *wets pants*
Fair do's
This album doesn't even come close to his last one, and I must therefore admit that I'm very disappointed with Mr Turner. Reasons 'Not To Be An Idiot', 'Substitute' and 'Long Live The Queen' are highlights for me but the rest just lack the spark that Sleep Is For The Week had. Shame.
I don't even mind…
the fact that they've overused the vocoder… the single most annoying thing invented.
Agreed…
Although I've heard the name for a while, I've only just got round to listening to their music, and I like this album. I'm not saying it deserves anything more than a 6 or 7 as there are a few absolute chaff songs, but the majority are pretty good. 'With A Heavy Heart…' and We Are Rockstars' certainly wake me up when I need it.
This is.....
.... fantastic news! I'm a very happy chap.
It pains me to say this…
because I think REM are a fantastic band, but Superserious sounds just like every other 'run-of-the-mill' REM song. Nothing about REM has got me excited lately :(
Re Keith Baxter
Very sad news. Just yesterday I was telling the younger folk at work about the fantastic 3 Colours Red. Shame.
London
Many thanks. Whoo!
How much?!
…fuck off. I really wanted to go, but I'm not paying that much.
agreed
Mr Turner gets my vote
The Boileroom is a fantastic place…
…bar the supporting pole in the middle of the stage view… but even that's being threatened having it's licence taken away which would really suck on a huge scale. See the full story here > http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/keepguildfordlive/
Beans On Toast…
…is awesome.
* Update *
I've just listened to a bit of Rodrigo Y Gabriela and they're pretty damn good actually so ignore my comment about them… but still… The Street?! I didn't see that coming. Oh and I'll definately still be there as Muse will still be outstanding.
Crap!
I don't want may saturday ticket any more. I hate The Streets and have no idea who the hell Rodrigo... is! Very disappointing.
Ok, I may be a bit late into the discussion…
…but I find this album incredibly boring! Frengers is a much stronger album and I was absolutely gutted to be so disappointed about this. The Zookeepers Boy is definately the highlight, and if I remember rightly there's another cracking song on there but the rest do nothing for me. Maybe I need to give it a few more goes…?
Saw them live the other day…
…they're great.
Carter
reforming! How have I missed this?!
Matt Bellamy…
…could possibly make me gay! Deserved award!
Oh, this is going to really upset me…
I've just clicked the link and checked out the video… Idlewild really have become quite shit haven't they, which is a real shame because it was Hope Is Important that got me into good music, and Idlewild at Bristol around the 100BR era is still the best gig I've ever been to. No emotion?… kinda fitting.
agreed!
I love this album and it's been in repeat in my car and at home since I got hold of it. Don't get me wrong though, being an avid fan of TCTC since I dicovered 'See This Through…', I do think it's possibly their weakest album, but that's only when compared to the others. It's a very different collection of songs and for what it is, it does deserve a 9ish. There's one possibly 1 or 2 bum tracks but the rest are absolute corkers! Yeah, they have their chart friendly moments (Waiting Games, What Have You Gone And Done and Isn't It Strange specifically) but they haven't completely abandoned their experimental roots. I love it when a band throw something out which takes their fans by surprise, and they may loose a couple by becoming a lot more accessible to wider audiences, but at least they're not 'doing a Coldplay' by releasing the same ol' shite. Oh, and the 'Belle And Sebastian' stylee Take Comfort is a great song!

I still can't get into 'And The Glass Handed Kites'....
In my opinion, Frengers was head and shoulders above it. Maybe I should give 'Kites' another go. Update to follow.
