surely the fact it is harmless and "little"
is one of the criticisms?
Doesnt summers have copyright
on that eiffel 65 remix comment?
Fanfarlo are ok
but seriously, don't you find it verges on sickly? Soooooo twee and soooooo earnest. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it's just a bit unrelenting.
The Blacks
they just cut all the bullshit
having said that, i heard their new single today
seriously :|
its not going to change my opinion on hadouken
but i thought he came across really well there.
oh and its STILL produced by jacknife lee
ominously.
i dont get it, did they actually think AWITC sounded good?
from the live thing ive heard it doesnt sound so bad
the state of flux line isnt exactly inspiring though, and he does have previous.
That is such a spot on review
its sort of just... horrible. totally pointless.
drums sound good though.
westwood looks just like craig out of hollyoaks
in that picture
last three songs are seriously good
first 9 ive not really got into yet
i do really like this song
but i also definitely know what you're getting at there.
also, this must be out 18 months following an album. that must be a record?
That vide is so gritty
and real. most of all real.
seriously
i can pour a bag of shit over someones head without really creatively exerting myself.
It happened on my birthday!
I am so happy :)
This would actually be a pretty good idea
If there were different bands blah blah blah
WTF!
Look at these Canterbury folk :O
AYO Technology is
SO funny. It's like he can only sound mean if he clenches his teeth as hard as possible at all times.
He was aye-ing like nobody's business
What a great album though!
I couldn't really give a shit about this
But why name it "Absolute Garbage"?!
It's not funny, it's just annoyingly self-deprecating.
I heard the first single off this
and it was really really good, surprised me rather, I was expecting more generic strumming.
Sounds like the album is just as good.
XL has released quite a few grime records
Having said that I think they fucked over some of the artists...
I feel I should make some suggestions
I did enjoy Burial a lot, but I think that's too old.
Jeremy Warmsley? I didn't even like that so much. Ah fuck, I've realised how little British music I regularly listen to.
Fair dos
I do agree with you about weak albums actually being released, I haven't really even enjoyed Wiley's album this year, and it isn't like the Mercury Prize could be awarded to a mixtape...
On a more general note, it's interesting to note absolutely zero hip-hop albums in metacritics "Best of 2006" so far, when previous notes have been at least sprinkled with them.
Yee I guess (as my other comment says)
but it isn't exactly representing the whole musical spectrum
Althought admittedly
This is DiS, and I don't read it for it's opinions on hip hop.
One black person
and he's playing a guitar.
Or is this "Alternative" as in genre?
Arg why didnt i get truck tickets
on my birthday as well
This isnt really related to jack penate playing, i couldnt really give two monkey shits about him, its just reminding me :(
I'm pretty sure
Foals aren't considered livestock
Yep not liking two things is proof
of being a completely miserable bastard
Fuck
the best Beirut song thus far
And yeah seriously, an astonishingly lovely video. I don't remember being so affected by dancing :S
I'm harbouring a fantasy
I might have seen them on the street or something
If they were 17-18 when they wrote it
How old are they now?
If anyone had a problem with
their "pilfering of black music" or whatever, it would surely be that they have done it so cack-handedly and with such lack of subtlety.

its so hard to reply to this without seeming sarcastic
