Never heard of them before but after reading this I'm going to give their stuff a try
Good write-up. I didn't feel pressured to listen, just curious after reading about a couple of seemingly genuine, approachable people. Also really enjoyed the Nathan Rosenburg bit for some reason.
Hah, enjoyed reading thru most of this
I imagined it being read aloud by a grumpy old man whose children have just discovered his collection of disco vinyl and are trying to mock him for it while defending their own love of 'mediocre 90s throwback jams'.
Good review
I'm always curious to see how reviewers will balance tabloid junk with actual content, and I think it's smart to mention the things people are expecting to see without letting the detritus ruin the show. Without having heard the album myself, I expect you're right to point out that we shouldn't obsess over certain 'possible' 'references', but rather enjoy the music on its own merits.
