A) Super Furry Animals
...
don't like the album much, but if you're going to write a review like this at least make it funny...
i've got to admit
i'm impressed by this.
it's not like the $300 version is even a rip off if you're a fan
i'm not, but whatever.
like the radiohead album though, i think it's only possible if you've already got a large and somewhat obsessive fan base.
....
who's supporting for the tour then?
i'm going to the brighton one, i can't wait, 'return to the sea' has become one of my favourite albums in years.
possibly a stupid question
but has anyone at all on here heard this yet?
will be interesting to see if it's more in the kind of soul direction or back to the older style... i'm sure both will be good, but i'm curious.
!
that looks ace, I mostly want to see Anti-pop Consortium and Edam though and £30 does seem a little bit steep...
wow
I still don't give a shit about battles really, but De La Soul could be incredible.
really weird choice of single...
i like it because it's just a bit awkward and angry and stuff, and that's always fun, but it isn't really much of a song, and it's probably too long too.
...
pretty much nothing makes sense here does it?
that's sounds like
an unusually brilliant episode of jools holland
i agree
i still think it's ace, but i don't like this recording much at all.
I think newfield is pretty over rated as a producer really.
which stage is centre and which is pavillion?
I forgot.
I thought Pavillion was the massive one which was a bit rubbish last time because it was so bright and stuff...
but the idea of portishead playing in the smaller stage upstairs makes me think I'll be spending half the weekend in a queue.
I'm back in south wales
this weekend, but since i haven't seen my family for a couple of months i can't really bring myself to go to this.
i really wish i was, it looks like more or less the best thing to happen in cardiff in years.
i think...
that is about right
definitely just tennis on the NES, a pub near my old house used to have an arcade machine loaded with about 50 NES games, it was incredible, tennis was one of them- that's my point.
I wasn't there...
but whenever i listen to 'citrus' i'm always amazed at how little the guitarist actually seems to be doing at times, not that that's a bad thing, it's just that the big distorted bass seems to take the lead almost all the time, so maybe that's something to do with it.
i really wish i went though, i was going to go along and hope it wasn't sold out, but by the sound of it i made the right choice.
yeah, but...
when the message board/ community side of it crosses over with the 'news' section, it just seems a bit wrong.
to be fair, i didn't read much of the thread this article is referencing.
If I really cared...
I'd be quite pissed off by this, just another step DiS has taken from being quite an interesting music website towards being a cliquey message board full of in-jokes.
But it's just the internet, so whatever.
donations
no one was a 'paying member', donations were entirely voluntary and gained you no special benefits as far as i know. All these news articles like to make it sound like the guy running it was making a fortune out of it, when i doubt that the donation money was covering any more than the cost of hosting the site.
This is awful.
Even though I suppose I was using oink to download a lot of stuff I never bought, I also used it to download stuff that I went on to buy that I never would've even considered purchasing in the past.
I reckon that unless I find a replacement site the amount of new music I get to listen to will be seriously limited.
I wish I bothered to keep my indietorrents account now, I never really saw the point when you could get everything they had and more on oink.
Peel Stage to oust Glasto Dance Tent?
- Asia Extreme mini film festival
The bits about the other films may be good, but that BR2 is just awful.
Pantera guitarist shot dead
Stereophonics name new sticksman
I'm sure anyone with any sense disagrees, but you've made your opinion pretty clear.
Sterophonics used to be my favourite band, when i was about 12.
The the first album is vaguely interesting still, but the rest is utter shite.
I've somehow managed to see them 3 times, one time because i wanted to see feeder support, the rest were just free tickets, I can honestly say that the others, especailly their last milenium stadium gig will be remembered as some of the most tedious, broing moments of my life.
Stuart Cable was the best thing about that band too.
And it doesnt help that Kelly Jones is a cunt.
(and I nearly got all the way through that without saying it too...) Who the fuck just fires a livelong friend from your band like that?

The second blatantly ripped off the jesus and mary chain on the good tracks, and the bad tracks were just awful.
But serioulsy, some of the songs even had some stolen lyrics from mary chain songs.

Re: Razorlight go super-size.
Razorlight irritate me. The singles have been prety good, there's no denying that Golden Touch is a great pop song, but it's essentially the kind of stuff most of the type of people who come here would like when they are 14, as a stepping stone to better bands.. Though I suppose that cant be such a bad thing.
Busted: Clearly the record of the year. Obviously

the place is massive isn't it?
the manics played the CIA not long ago, that's a pretty small arena... newport centre is probably more than half the size of that place.
either way, knowing newport it'll probably be full of cunts.
