I really like what they're doing (hopefully the review gets that point across) but can understand them being divisive. Definitely at least worth giving a few listens to though.

Probably pitched exactly right for DiS users and covers a nice variety of bases.

Just to be clear, I meant that as 'I've heard them called IDM by other people.' I would totally agree that IDM is a horrible term - the idea of calling some forms of dance music more 'intelligent' than others is very pretentious.

However, you have to admit that as soon as someone mentions the term IDM you know the exact sort of artists that are being referred to. Yea it's a stupid term but, as with post-rock, it's a stupid term that's become a blanket umbrella for bands/artists with a certain sounds production style and, when you're on a word limit, is much quicker than listing off names.

Personally, however, I would always steer clear of actually referring to anyone or anything directly as IDM myself. Just to clear up any confusion there.

I'm interested to see how they shape up as a live act later in the week.

I'd probably give this an 8/10 personally but I've only listened through to it a couple of times, mostly agree though.

I've been on the recieving end of my fair share that 90% you talk about and Sweet Baboo isn't part of it.

Pappy's Fun Club, they're late night show was some of the most fun I had at last year's Latitude. They were obviously just as drunk as everyone in the audience. Really fun sketch comedy though.
