he's right
of course. Pop music is daft, ego-driven and ultimately pointless. Especially now. Hooray!
listened to this album today
really liked it at first.. the production on it is lovely.. and the Weezery guitary songs sound great. But 3/4 through the album I felt a huge lack of depth and humour or cleverness to the words.. and I kind of lost interest. There's only so many sweet songs about 'loving your other half' that can keep your attention, especially when the sentiment is put so straight forwardly. Might grow on me though..
sfa amazing.. eeeeeeeels amazing...
and jarvis amazing. good news day!
i just went to their myspace to see what all the fuss was about
and saw that film they've got on there..
So wanky. So so wanky.
lovely article, thankyou
i look back this album very fondly too.
lovely article and interview
thankyou. a lot of what he said resonated greatly with me.
But then, I am sozzled.
ace
Pulled Apart by Horses are playing down here in london soon.. am looking forward to it. i think.
Sheff is a genius.
yes.
i miss the north
London is shithouse.
i would go chronologically
possibly skipping 'stars too small to use' though.
'dont fall in love with everyone you see' is such a perfect record. bloody Westfall!
i hate the log cabin reference
so he recorded his album in a log cabin, big deal.
If my daddy was rich and had a nice log cabin in the woods, and an endless pit of money to throw at me, enabling me to have a few months off living in this delightful holiday home, I might be able to record some plodding drivel too.
4 times
i've listened to it today, so i've taken it off my ipod before i ruin it. It doesn't hit like Wide Awake.. but it is very nice indeed.
that vid
was pretty nice actually
that is hot.
hurrah for Southern!
if i knew where my dad was...
i'd send him some Anthrax. The acute disease, not the band. Respiratory infection/collapse, y'know, that kinda thing.
rent and food
usually comes first, and then records get bought later. we dont all have mumsie and sweet old papa buying us flats and haircuts.
i ignored this download
when i saw it last night. i might now give it a whirl. New year's eve 1997/1998, Polythene was on the stereo all night. I lost a few friends that night, but remains a highlight of my youth. Fuck, i'm going to download that too! and YWTS!
agree
it does look pretentious. one of the best things about record shopping (AND Archway Pure Groove) is browsing through bargain bins and shelves of old and new odd records. This new place doesn't look FUN.
sod Adamski?
you don't mean that.
ha
yeah it feels odd listening to it, skewed, after all this time of hearing and expecting certain things, something totally mundane pops up, like a couple of extra guitar chuggs or something, and throws you. i do love these versions, though sometimes the melodies kinda get lost in all the racket.
whoopah
the albini mixes album, tis here:

i'd imagine everyone on here has bought a copy of the original anyway, but do remove this post if it offends.
Jesus
just cos.
i'd box you two
simultaneously, as clearly i wouldn't have any choice. Prolly take yers though.
