Great Album

Great album

Interview with Sam Simkoff of Le Loup here: http://www.theartssection.com/2009/09/music-family-by-le-loup.html

Where is Chris Karloff now?

I miss him.

the best

I think it's a good album

but does anyone else feel like it doesn't deserve the 9s it's getting? I see it as a 7.

I agree with the 7

but does anyone else hate the production?

I didn't like this...

I'm not saying he's wrong, but to make such negative criticism after hearing only half the album only once on a bad sound set up is a bit absurd. The voice in this piece bugged the hell out of me, as this guy seems like a pretentious hipster who just doesn't want to see Florence succeed because the NME likes her. Keep in mind, I'm not really a fan of her either, but the piece just really bothered me.

easy 9 for me.

this album is up there with the classic album Glassworks. It's a more mature and complex album than his last and it is amazing to listen to all the way through.

it's an easy 8 for me.

Phosphorescent is great and Can I Sleep In Your Arms is beautiful.

It's hard for me to listen to them

I really enjoy Beirut, but it's tough because I know Zach Condon is so full of himself.

this is a great album.

they are great.

it's true.

I would take him to the almost abandoned

Coney Island, set up a guitar, keyboard, and drum and jam in the almost empty boardwalk in front of the water.

the rating...

does drownedinsound not give scores anymore or can I just not see it on my browser?

wow harsh. I'd give this an 8.

it's not trying to be a deep epic masterpiece - it's just plain fun.

I'd give this an 8...

but yes, Bowerbirds are great.

sounds interesting...

any release date?

I agree with

cowcow. 8 or 9.

that's a shame...

I've seen the Shout Out Louds twice and they are hit or miss. The first time I saw them it was basically the performance you just described and the second time they were amazing. at least Lykke Li was great.

yeah, harsh review!

I've had this ep for more than a year and still quite enjoy it from time to time, although the album is much better.

and Jeff Tweedy is a genius?! I almost wonder if this guy is joking.

personally, I'm a fan...

I'd definitely say an 8.

I meant like

them personally. ex. I dislike Oasis because of their arrogance.

These reviews are

getting more and more like Pitchfork. i.e. if the reviewer doesn't like the band (or their image or popularity) personally, they'll give them a shit rating.

It is

well written, just a couple factual errors. I personally don't agree, that's all.

I would give it...

and 8 probably, maybe even a 9. It's a great record. There are a couple errors in this review, "as if turning his near-death experience (he was given his last rites after a bout of double pneumonia, don’t forget) into a wry reference is perfectly normal." He has stated many times the album was mostly done before his hospitalization and that it did not really influence this record. just sayin'

Peter Kember

yep.
