would be pretty class too ;o)
but I'm really disappointed that Portishead aren't on the list. Honorable mentions: Burial and Laura Marling. Elbow record is prett solid too. If Adele wins I'm going to kill myself.
the most beautiful woman i've ever seen in the flesh
I put 3 friends on the case, only one of them managed it. thank gawds.
I heard The Tourist
can you not mention The Tourist?
Easily the highlight of the evening.
for me too
it didn't have to be covered - why write a review for the sole purpose of slagging off an artist and being a total wanker with an overflexed vocabulary?
and not even a review
she would probably try to dry hump every person in the audience
isn't Steve Wright in the Afternoon cool enough for you?
I didn't quite get it, and thought most people were standing around going WTF... but at least they just wheeled her stuff off and Bjork was pretty prompt getting on :o)
It's a grower
always writes utter gash.
who shouted LET'S GO FOR A CURRY! at the beginning of Jigsaw falling into place?!
what a hideous album :o(
they still have punk rock karaoke
even outside, but why sell tickets the same month as Christmas!!!?? *sob*
but I'd rather go to Victoria Park and not get hypothermia again
I would be off my head all the time as well.
Saw her close up in the flesh a while ago and she was definitely on coke - not that it's really that big a deal as they say ^^ she'll grow out of it.
If she ate a little bit better she would probs be able to burn the candle at both ends and get away with it.
how the two bands have got anything to do with each other...
This is an amazing album :o)
are you crapping on about?!
My only complaints:
Too short a set, really.
Impossible to see and too rammed
tambourine playing - best bit of the show ;o)
Yay, yay, yay, etc.
That is annoying though in a way, cause it means you'd have to get there really early to get in and I can't get off work til 5.30. In a way I would prefer to get up early, get it done then chill all day knowing we'd get in. Would like to go though, as Astoria night I have to work.
and they have quite a lot of songs as they've been around for years.
Is this going to be one of those queue up at 8.30 am outside HMV and feel like a 12 year old waiting to get Harry Potter while everyone going to work looks at you like you're mental?
gay for Bloc Party
Indeed it was an understated musical highlight, and amusing gem of an evening.
I just don't understand why they are not huge, and why people compare them to the futureheads (who I think are way inferior) just because they're all northern. At least the fact that no one else knows they're great means we get to see them in teeny venues and none of their fans have to shop for tickets on ebay. it's all so much nicer.
I haven't seen a review that glowing in ages. I saw this band at Barden's Boudoir last year and I must say it totally blew me away. They are fearless and totally give you every penny's worth of your ticket in charisma, energy and sheer musical brilliance.
Can't wait to get my dirty mitts on it.
there with bells on
are the people nominated this year more credible and less of a joke than usual? Not that it is something I plan to watch but...
Cat Power! So much more songwriting ability/such better voice than all others in her category but if she wins I will eat my favourite bobble hat.
being very ambitious are they - Borderline is about 200 capacity or less... don't know their stuff particularly but they've had enough hype that they could probably fill bigger venues just through curiosity factor surely.
