Never heard of them but this seems to be

a nod to the Georges Perec novel "La disparition". A whole novel not containing a single "e". Quite a trick in French.

great I'll be in London that day!

Will I need some sort of wristband or can I just pop up at 6pm ?

A) grasshopper

please ?

was there as well

great performance. Few artists/bands can even come close.

I saw these guys

at a festival a couple of weeks back. I'd never heard them and was very impressed. The album is nice but you can never get rid of the impression that that you're listening to their "Calexico song", "iliketrains song", etc. Still a very enjoyable listen though.

These guys

never stop. I love them :-)
Beast Moans had its moments, but they should be able to top it pretty easily given the quality of their respective other bands.

I love this album

Miles better than the last one. And I loved the last one!

why can't you post all european dates

since you clearly have them???

saw them

a couple of years ago, they were incredible live

I liked

his first LP. never saw him live.

I've listened to it three times

and really like it

BUT

I'm very disappointed by the drumming. It sounds so weak. On videotapes it seems he's banging a fisher price drum all the way through. I hope this is due to low quality mp3s. The drums should be higher in the mix and much more powerful. And Thom's voice is mixed too high on a couple of tracks (Nude especially).

Other than that it's a pretty solid album. Will wait until I get a decent version to finally judge.

great band, great record

amazing live

it probably should be

"La Banlieue", with an "e" in the end

I want this

so much. Not surprised they played more than 200 shows, it seems they're playing every couple of months here!

I still have an awesome live bootleg up on yousendit until thursday, PM me if you want the link

lucky bastards...

go see this man!

and for the record

Soy un caballo - from meh to annoying, hate the voices

Les Anges - have not heard them yet, no optimism

Minerale - Nice blokes, some good songs, they could become above average

Sioen - Horse shit, songs sound like the "Young & the restless" theme, total cock on stage, extremely boring

The Tellers - Some catchy tunes, they're the ones doing the song on the new Canon advert. Their english pronounciation is quite terrible though.

Sharko - Probably my favourite of all these acts, has some catchy tunes and a fun guy

Mud Flow - yawn-fest of dull pop-rock

Joshua - Much better Belgian acts doing similar stuff, why bother?

There are much better belgian bands out there, this is probably the worst ever Belgian-centric bill I've ever seen

and btw, Patrick WAtson the day before was fantastic

You should've told me

you'd be there :-) We could've drank a beer or something. All the bands in this "Nuit belge" are really dull, don't like any of them really.

It doesn't matter they speak in french

I'm a native french speaker and listen to music in very different languages, with a big love for music in german. It's just their horrible canadian french accent I can't stand! I feel so racist after saying that... the shame...

I can't stand

their french canadian accents... just so irritating

If you have

the possibility to and you don't go to this you will be excommunicated

can't be bothered to read this review

but having had to endure him twice as a show opener, I know for a fact that he is terrible

any news of

a tour outside the UK? Europe maybe? say Brussels for example...

I like these guys

great summer EP

I <3

Werewolf

best track ever by cocorosie

yeah!

definitely going to this!

I think some sort of music theft gang might be active in brussels

Because Casiotone for the painfully alone also got his stuff stolen 2-3 weeks back. I had never heard of this type of stuff happening in Brussels before... And band vans are easy to locate as they're usually in front or back of the venues and full of gear...

usually...

share prices of target companies go up while share prices of bidding companies go down because people know that if the bid is accepted it's probably because they're paying too much, therefore it's probably not such a good buy...

MArk Lanegan

What an amazing guy...

The album's great by the way!

Love how

Death Cab for Cutie is nominated and one the guys from the band is in the Jury.

With Elijah Wood.
And a guy from no doubt.
and people from Linkin Park.

Who chooses these Jury members anyways?

CocoRosie - Noah's Ark

seing them tomorrow in brussels with patrick wolf as opener... can't wait!

Re: Booze banned at Live 8

"The dead trousers", they're the biggest punk rock band in germany, been around since the begining of the 80s. With time it became more rock than punk rock I guess, still pretty punk though (I don't know them that much actually, I have 2 CDs which are fairly good. Really want to see the crowd and the massive german punk rock singalongs!)

Re: Booze banned at Live 8

Die Toten Hosen that is

Re: Booze banned at Live 8

yeah we do, quite looking forward to it even though I only want to here Take on ME. We also get Crosby stills and NAsh, which could be OK and Lauryn hill who should be entertaining. Plus lots of german band but there's some decent ones, really want to see die Toten Hoses, they're such legends here...

Booze banned at Live 8

going to the berlin leg... We get Brian Wilson ... and Audioslave (that hurts...)
But most of all, they'll never be able to forbid the sale of beer! hooray for Berlin...
