Ouch!
Shame though as they wrote some cracking tunes back in the day. Much of their debut is very good and 'Winning Days' of the album of the same name is a quite brilliant tune.
is SPAG still worth 5% in english exams?
It used to be. We were always instructed to write 'DON'T FORGET SPAG' at the top of our exam papers to remind us not to forget it, obvs.
Why do the Kaiser Chiefs escape the vitriol of
say, Scouting for Girls, when ultimately they've built their successes on repeating bland lyrics/melody which test only the musical boundaries of your average Heart FM listener? Seriously, how have Kaiser Chiefs got away with including oooooooowwwwwwwwwwwws; naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh; aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh in every one of their songs, yet still are deemed as exciting by some folk. It's a good job DiS had nothing to do with their initial success or i'd cry 'favouritism!', or 'agenda!', or something similarly scathing...
Josh Garza
is the greatest, currently drumming, drummer. Am quite looking forward to this...
...i was mostly underwhelmed by this album...
he's gone way too country and appears to have neglected melody on much of the tracks here.
Must try harder.
WHat about NOISE FLOOR?
That has some of my fave Bright Eyes moments on it...especially 'Soon You Will Be Leaving Your Man' (i think).
Man alive...
the Wild Beasts' moustache action has to be the most depressing thing i've seen this year...he looks fucking ridiculous. Wwhen did this kind of plumage become acceptable?
I met the singer in Kings Cross Burger King
after the Reading Festival a few years back - he saw me readin a review and asked what i thought of their performance. I had no idea who he, or indeed Minus, were. He was a nice guy though.
The end.
Good review...
This is certainly a very good REM album, whilst the not-so-good numbers you point out prevent it from being a classic...
...the summer's live shows are even more tempting now...
Awesome...
what a set!
West of the fields is a real treat...
I fucking hate pete tong
AND Judge Jules.
Massive pile of horseshitpoo
No Scottish solo date?
I know...
really disappointed by this as it's been around for ages now (3 years?) and isn't that great anyways...
By all accounts they've already been snapped up...
to a certain extent by the mighty 2thumbs label (former View, the Law peeps) from Dundee.
Bit disappointed they're putting
I'm Gonna DJ on it as this has been around for a few years now and is fairly gash.
How wrong thou art!
How wrong thou art!
...there's a song there somewhere...
HAVE YOU NOT SEEN THE FILM?!!!?
!!!!!!!!!!!1111111111
Cracking live band.
Nice chaps.
This, this and thrice
this.
Ghastly band...
Yes! You read right. I said 'ghastly'.
Good looking???
Have you no eyes, boy?!
Err...
actually starting at Carling Academy, Glasgow on the 26th...
I've noticed DiS are fairly good at missing off Scottish dates from tour listings. Stop being lazy you mothers.
I fkng love Kanye.
Period.
I quite like the Raveonettes
That album they released in 2000/1/2 was really good. Hooray!
BUT, this guy Anthony is really sound...
perhaps the nicest 'rock n roll' type i've met...
They played a couple of newies at the Muse Wembley gig...
and they sounded dire...Also, Didz is a real bloater now.
Fair dos...
I'll let 'em off.
...you really wouldn't if you'd ever been there...
it's a hole. The Bluetones played there recently.
I can't believe they're not playing Edinburgh, the bastards.
Congrats sir on another fine response...
Have a crisp.
You're obviously not trying hard enough...
they're pretty easy to like...
bad as in good?
phat.
All you h8taz can just whistle...
this album's gonna be whack.
Actually wrong^
they are ruddy superb live...
Good band...
awesome live. Nice chaps.
Stop pretending you dislike Davidson and his OBE...
You dirty little racist...
Yeah Mr Bright Eyes,
cheers for no Scotland dates like, EVER! (TITP does not count btw).
Young Fucking Knives!!!!???
For a minute I thought it was the award for worst band/album ever! Utter balls.
Klaxons please, although Monkeys would be amusing.
And for all those suggesting TCTC, you're just being silly. Their final album was very poor, especially in comparison to its predecessors. Thank you.
Is the singer the ugliest man in music?
I say YES!
Hooray.
Domino
Domino
The guy's got a bit of the midas about him...
Fair play - he's made shit people sound not shit and that requires some talent i'd have thought.
I do love him, but he wears stupid tracksuits.
JPJ's there as well...
Along with Bonham's son. How sweet.
They should get Josh Garza in on on drums - he's the nearest (living) thing to Bonham and he's probably fairly free at the moment.
Yeah, totally...
he looked like a right porker on Saturday...
^i'd forgotten about that...
This is the greatest quote ever.

Cracking Review...
I doubt Murmur will ever sop my fave REM albums list, but it's always up there. This probably has more to do with the fact that i wasn't aware of them in 1983, being just 3 years old. New Adventures will always be their finest work to me, but nevertheless Murmu is a stunner of a record.
