she apparently was a singer at school

according to her mum "has a nice voice"

well if her mum says so.

and the song isn't that bad.

i would say "emotional complexity"

sounds mighty pretentious. that, coupled with the acoustic guitar, is just an awful combination.

that said, turner has his pretentions too ("endearingly bedraggled in the wind" is a bit of a LOL) but i forgive him because he makes an effort to balance it out.

"i'm going to feed our children non organic food

and with the money save take em to the zoo"

bloody good line that. maybe their best since "trouble over bridgwater"?

OBERST

whatev

has pattylee actually listened to the band?

turner writes better lyrics than oberset.

DiS. FACT.

if you enjoyed this review you are a twat

and represent all that's wrong with DiS. self importance is ugly.

people listen to cool people

you twat.

i've been telling you to cover these for fucking years

and now you do

well done.

best label in the world.

glaring...

..

Boogaloo (Highgate)
Amersham Arms (New Cross)

Not the New Cross Inn PLEASE.

good album, all told

and glad that one of my favourite bands have taken some (not enough IMO) influence from the italians do it better label, which i have loved for ages.

this is better

no weak tracks.

note.

unless you know what you're talking about (and you don't).. stop bullshitting about key changes and things like that. it's really fuckin annoying.

people who have seats?

.

I didn't understand most of that

.
What?

Pete Doherty is going to film a doc with C4 about crackhead kids on estates.

Fair play.

it's only pop music

no need to be rude.

I hope this album

will be good enough so that no one is left in two minds about Alex Turner being an absolute bona-fide genius for our age.

I am dead excited.

they bottled it

they could have had an amazing pop album with Hummer as its centrepiece but instead they reverted to their pretentious proggy math rock comfort zone.

6/10

a weekend in the city review... anyone?

fuck it

1) 2+2=5
2) Let Down
3) The Bends
4) Where I End And You Begin
5) The Trickster
6) Everything In Its Right Place
7) Street Spirit (Fade Out)
8) Knives Out

10) Sail To The Moon
11) Life In A Glasshouse (Full Length Version)
12) High And Dry
13) Fog
14) Lucky
15) Fake Plastic Trees

agree

didn't understand half of that article except that they clearly are wankers.

I love everything on IDIB

Everything.

aww shit

i was doing nothing last night. could've been there.

bastard.

Fast Fuse

was good.

the riff sounds like razorlight

the one from "to the sea".

a bit.

GLASS CANDY

Are nowhere near Chromatics. But still amazing.

i'm so disappointed

no one is even acknowledging Clipse.

it is clearly an amazing album.

i'm pleased big big love is on it

...in some form

Okereke Plays?

.

oooh

think this guy is suffering from the dreaded subvert the subverted disease. hmmm.

what i've heard of this album is more than acceptable (though not **amazing**) while "call the shots" is one of their best songs.

very good point

i am in full support of it. well done.

all bands who snort cocaine should die.

e is ok though.

this is horrible

no hook
no dynamics
nothing

terrible

this

.

sick, what's sick about it?

sounds grand to me.

she seems like a nice girl

but there's no reason for her to release records.

i haven't got a clue who final fantasy is

but anything with Alex Turner in (so far) is absolute gold.

ps.

this is one of the best DiS articles ever. fact ist.

he comes across well

but very cynical in making "fun music". doesn't sound very fun to me.

"hurry up we're missing Skins for you"

nice heckle @ foals.

good review

well dun.

Why waste so many words

Review the song. Don't burn my eyes.

The first one was okay

Tracks Shakespeare and Roll Wid Us still blow me away but there was too many shit guitars ruining the flow. Some of it started to sound a little - er - Limp Bizkit.

Go MMISL.

It might have an interesting cover?

Otherwise, apart from the curious kid in 10 years, this is ........

They did a track for some soundtrack

called Please You and its the best thing they've ever done. Except Do You Believe Her, obviously.

I seriously doubt if anyone within a mile radius of Durr

within a mile radius of Durr hasn't seen xx Teens more times than they can count...

I like most of the old album

But this is a 3/10 bar Help Me Please which would have been a stand out on Stars Of CCTV. They could have done so much better, especially with the lyrics which are as clunky and out of focus as they come.
