Sadly I think

the above is true. Big heavy sigh. I'll still buy it too cause I do like parts of it. But I don't think I'll be putting it on repeat.

I bought it

based on the artwork alone. At the moment it's still at the 'nice' stage and is just washing over me. I'll keeping going and report back.

Obviously I was very keen to post a reply.....

that or it's proof that my broadband connection is indeed pants.....

Status symbol?

I have gone and will continue to go to Glastonbury simply because I like going to that particular festival. It certainly isn't about status. I couldn't give a fiddlers what people think. I like the people, the atmosphere, the choice, the scenery and I love the music. I've never experienced anything like it before and I've yet to get the same experience at another festival, although Electric Picnic comes a very distant second. I like talking about Glastonbury to other people not because I'm like 'oh look at me I'm so cool I go to Glastonbury' I like talking about it simply because I genuinely believe it is a great festival to go to and an excellent experience.

Status symbol my ass........

Fair enough...

the lyrics may not be brilliant. But the music is pretty good. 3 out of 10? Honest to God.

One of my favourite albums so far this year.

Honestly...

I loved the first album, a little disappointed with the second, but I just saw them live the other night and the new stuff sounds great. Plus their performance was flippin marvellous albeit a little short. I'm going to chance my arm and get the third album. Fingers crossed.

Creed; Staind; Nickelback; bands with the passion of a focus group

..........ha ha ha.......brilliant..........I was in the pub the other nite and some asked me what I thought of Nickleback I didn't really have an answer (and yes I quickly moved to the other side of the pub). I now have a great answer. Thanks DiS! You're neat..............

I agree...

I loved the first album but then things all went a little pear shaped. I was hoping the new stuff would redeem my faith, apparently not.

PS What's with all the 'Do you like Rihanna?' ads? Or am I just seeing things.
PPS Just in case you were wondering, I do not like Rihanna.

2009 wishlist

1. Smashing Pumpkins get a grip and reform with Iha and D'arcy and make an album worthy of sitting along side Siamese Dream.
2.People stop making a big deal out of Glasvegas.
3. Stone Roses reform.............
4. I perfect teleportation so I can attend a friend's wedding and go to Glastonbury all at once....

I thought...

heartbreak and personal turmoil were key factors to good lyrics etc?

My daughter's favourite...

songs in no particular order are Voodoo People by the Prodigy, Jeff Buckley's version of Hallelujah and Coldplay's Clocks.

Well two out of three ain't bad...

?

This was indeed said in an interview on Beeb Radio 1. And it sounded more like he said it in jest. I can't see them being away for 10 minutes nevermind 10 years.

Honest to Gawd...

it was one of the most amazing things I've seen in a long time. And the crowd was blinkin huge bigger than the Who last year. Fair play.

^^^^

i laughed a lot at those comments, i need to get out more perhaps...

It was either....

....a case that the tickets were too blinkin expensive or a rumour that Croke Park is only allowed to have 3 gigs on over the summer months. In the last couple of weeks Celine Dion and Westlife have already had go and Neil Diamond is due there shortly. That is all.

40 - 50

I think even that is optimistic. Lets have a go at naming 50 bands (at this present time) who could headline Wembley. I'll start with the obvious:
Foo Fighters, Muse and something poppy like Take That. Maybe Green Day and The Who. Any more takers? Will there be a legitimate 50?

Covers

Thought their cover of Where did you sleep last nite and Love Buzz were pretty good too. And I'm a fan of Sliver and Been a Son.

We all should be....

so proud......

Can't stand...

Fight Like Apes. They do me noggin in.

Would Guy...

like to come and have a pint of Strawberry cider with me at the Brothers stall at Glastonbury? (my treat..)

I just

liked the headline........ I'm still laughing.

Coldplay?

Could the 'special guest' with Jay Z be Coldplay? Didn't they work together before?

I'm utterley unimpressed....

...with the camera work...

I'm plesantly....

surprised. It could have been a whole lot worse. The Raconteurs, MGMT, Vampire weekend, Elbow, Ben Folds. Nice.

I don't think.......

.......I'll stop laughing all day. Thank you. Great writing.

It's like....

the video was made by some pre schoolers. Nonetheless I like it, just.
I wonder does that give me the mental age of 3 year old?
Probably.....(before anyone else can say it)

Listening to BJM....

...is a bit like watching A clockwork orange, distrubing, deeply confusing and I can't tell if I like it or not.

James Morrison...

played it last year...

Plus......

.....he may win the appeal and only end up serving 2 minutes of the sentence..... bet he'll be out in time for Glastonbury......

About time........

.........14 weeks though? Too long, too short? Methinks if it was the ordinary bloke/lady off the street the sentence may have been different.......

Well....

Glastonbury has the potential this year to eat some humble pie and strip back a little and eventually return to form. It could well be a year when loyal attendance (albeit low) and fingers crossed some memorable performaces (MGMT, Elbow and Jay Z)could actually make it memorable in a sort of weird niche way, if you get me. I understand what I'm saying but many of you may not..........apologies.... Nonetheless I will be attending.

I hate Guy Garvey

With Leaders of the Free World he made me homesick for Dublin with his brilliant lyrics and now with this album he makes me miss the UK. I'm never flipping happy.
Leaders of the Free World was superb and I'm still finding new sides to it. Mexican Standoff is brilliantly written, so funny. So far on Seldom Seen Kid, The Bones of You is standing out for me, followed closely by Grounds for Divorce and Mirrorball.

I like the line up.....

.....does that make me a bad person? :D

A Happy St. Patrick's Day...

....present for me then!

A glorified Keane?...

Ouch!

I see...

...one of the papers were quoted as saying 'I've seen the future of pop and it's David Jordan' Isn't a quote like that a sackable offence? And surely the 'journalist' in question has lost all credibility for life. I wouldn't even trust his/her judgement on what sandwich filling to have at lunch time...

Well...

....they closed the park (the big meanies) at 5pm and poor ald Frank and a rather sizable crowd (incl. myslef and my little one, well she's seven) had to resort to the front gate of Stpehen's Green. Couldn't heard much at all despite all the 'ssshhhss' and 'sit down' (alebit on the pavement or in some cases road)from the crowd. Bizarre.

*You think I ain't worth....

......!

I saw them in Dublin.....

....on Tuesday night and while I feel like the band played a standard set and Homme seemed to be going through the motions, they still seemed to rock the place(!). You say I ain't worth.... was my favourite. Loud, sweaty and full of rage!

It is a bit.....

....depressing, the line up. Compared to a couple of years back.

Dublin...

...he's playing a freebie at the bandstand in St. Stephen's Green at 5pm tomorrow (Sat), if anyone's interested....

And yes I know...

I meant to type 70's not 80's..... DOH!

I've listened...

...to some of the new stuff and its a little bit 'muzak'. You can sort of here the Eagles/Genesis/Fleetwood Mac/Other big late 80's American bands influence running through it. Grohl always worried that he would produce 'muzak'.......ooppsie!

I do like the single tho, and they did a nice 'comfortable' set in Marley park the other week. Perhaps they need to do away with the mould or else break it.

Ireland....

No Irish dates.........Boooooooooooooooooooo! :(

I beg to differ...

....Halliwell left the Spice Girls....

Ah ha ha ha ha

The View? Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha, guffaw, snigger, lol etc etc.

Oh and Regan is from Bray in Ireland, but he's based in England maybe thats why he can be nominated, although personally I don't think thats a good enough reason. I bet he's chuffed though.

Klaxons would be my tip for the win.

Good job....

..the song is good as Corgan looks like a twat in the video. I believe the album isn't too good....balls. The live set list looks pretty impressive though.

They should be sorry...

...for releasing this single.... boo bom chsssh....groan....
