Album of the year?

.

This is my new favourite discovery. LastFM generated spotify playlists.

http://www.spotiseek.com/

bloody proust

"He ate a biscuit right?" (david hare)

They are superb live

At, least they were when I saw them supporting Frightened Rabbit

Batten down the hatches.

It's an invasion...

Really like it so far

Shocked to see it's only a fiver on iTunes. On day of release!

Great feature

this is.

Prodge

Seriously?

It feels odd listening to all this.

Yet not owning or even *possessing* any of it.

I must be more materialist than I thought.

A bit of

a discovery here.

Your top 50

Is not exactly the same as my top 50!

How dare you! Etc.

Thank you!

Two tickets for monday bought. Hurrah!

Really quite suprising

In a very very good way.

Above post

Brilliant.

I quite liked

his bit the periodic table though.

Great gig though; finally getting to hear some of Fantastic Damage live was a big, big highlight.

Am I the only one

Who thinks this sounds like U2?

Someone should

make this team in pro evolution soccer.

It's worth repeating

How good they are live. I like the album really rather highly, but my first exposure was to the live show. Superb.

Since When

Did the Union Chapel reopen to gigs?

Gah

Same date as I'm seeing 65daysofstatic. Rats. What be the chances of that then?!

His titles

Don't seem to get any smaller do they?

I used to have to serve Fearne Cotton

all the time when I worked at HMV. She bought odd things.

Sufjan

For the win.

Please.

Thanks.

The National

Seeing these guys at ULU in november. Glad they sound as good live as on the record.

Hot pants and hotels: mega-bucked musak celebs do

Gourmet Burger Kitchen?!

Get stuffed! DiS summer BBQ looms...

EARLS is there!

Gervais returns to XFM

Brilliant sitcom actor/writer.

Not quite as good radio DJ.

Funny people do not always play the best records. But they are often funny to make up for it.

Andre 3000 gets mad respect for da kids

WHo *wasn't* in love with Alex Mack? That's the question.

The*International*Karate* Plus play gigs

IK+ eh? Just press T.

C-Rayz Walz - Year of The Beast

Eek. Paragraphs.

Saul Williams - Saul Williams

Great review diver. Chalk up one persuaded soul.

Glastonbury 2005 - bands, bands, bands....

thats because all you can see are the other/pyramid stages (with some of the new bands, where the bill is unarguably good) most of my glasto moments have come away from the bigger stages.

With the notable exception of the Shibusashirazu orchestra a few years back playing at half ten on the friday morning on the pyramid. Anyone remember them? Fucking naked mentalist japanese costume jazz.

Glastonbury 2005 - bands, bands, bands....

Very impressed with the New Bands (sorry, Peel stage) this year. Bright Eyes, Go! Team, M83, The Earlies, Secret Machines, Rilo Kiley etc.

Plus there's Roots Manuva, Squarepusher, Four Tet, 2 Many Dj's, Alabama 3, and Steve Earle all popping up on various stages. And you know Aphex will be there somewhere.

Besides, the best glasto band is one you've never heard of before the weekend.

Pop fun. DiS Easter Alldayer announced...

the Pipettes were awesome at the Go Team gig in brighton. Great stuff.

The Arcade Fire

Hope ulu is this good...

Find us in the matinee - DiS presents FREE music f

Scuzzy two piece assault of sonic goodness on saturday afternoon? Bring a strong stomach.

Tommy Vance dies

His real name is possibly the greatest thing ever.

Pixies rev up for 2005

If they're at Reading and not glasto, this means my brother gets to see them, and I do not.

He will not appreciate their greatness. I will not be pleased.

The Tears

Watch out ross,

Fanbase on the horizon!

Free Valentines Download

I thought this had something to do with My Bloody Valentine.

Humbug.

Arcade Fire: release early on iTunes

Godamnit the kings college gig went from 'find tickets' to 'sold out' as I was entering my details.

I blame DiS.

M83 - Before The Dawn Heals Us

So damn good.

Looking forward to this.

Union Chapel to close for gigs

Godamnit. It was a great place I only got to visit once. Do all bands have to play in the same dark dingy spaces?

I thought it was a perfect place to hear certain bands and certain music... and I missed Low. *sniff*

Jacko to sue Eminem?

I thought last week was just the 'nineties'? Hence pixies, being a band coming out of the eighties, wouldn't get in. Or something.

The only reason they're doing it by decade is so C4 can create this horrific love child of "Top Ten X" and "I Love Shit Nostalgia Programs About Decades Other People Had Fun In But Not Me So I'll Watch This Program And Pretend"

Re: The Fiery Furnaces - Blueberry Boat

no bad thing

Q Awards nominees: the usual suspects

Uncut has a tendency to keep recyling features on it's pet projects and artists, *but* the reviews section is generally pretty fucking top notch and very comprehensive, and the articles other than the cover feature have a great range of subject and genre. Good writing too.

If only they'd go back to having a good cover cd of the month's best music and not 'here's some irrelevant toss selected by Bruce Springsteen'

Re: The 5678s - Woo Hoo

Ah but once the sun has risen it turns your tent into a burning furnace of melting and burning and is generally not condusive to sleep.

Even I need some kip at 4/5am.

The 5678s - Woo Hoo

Dear: All the people who sung this at glastonbury.

All of you whoSung this at all hours of the day and of THE NIGHT. ESPECIALLY OF THE NIGHT.

Fuck you all.

Sincerely.

Etc.

CHARTS! Franz Beaten by... Marillion?!

Cappy, don't try to tell me that you can associate longevity with talent. Sex Pistols existed for two years (barely) Joy Division three years, whereas Status Quo, Simply Red, and Phil Collins still make records.

I can't believe people are still arguing about this...

Pixies - Wave of Mutilation - The Best Of
