Great interview
Some things I didn't know about Sub Pop as well. Good read. God I hate grunge, though...
I didn't know that...
... But thanks for clearing it up. It doesn't quite fit in on that album, though
Oh my oh my
They actually put Mercury on the album. I've enjoyed most of what they've put out, but Mercury is... Well, misery. Horrible choice!
Will Flux perhaps be one of the songs on the physical cd?
This album...
... is ridiculously good. One of the best of 2008 so far.
This is
such a brilliant article. Really.
I don't think the classic post-rock will re-invent itself the next couple of years. In a couple of years, though, people will get into it again. Last year we wanted new rave, now we crave electronical music, whilst noise rock is getting more and more popular. I think people will start searching for motorik-hued amplified ambience again, naturally.
Amazing
Compilation. So many good bands there. This Town Needs Guns, Mimas, Jeniferever...
It's
Quite shocking that Alphabeat would be rated the best of those. Here in Denmark we really enjoy disliking them!
Well
I like that. I like you. Not in a stalker way, but still
Honestly
Yes! So shocked that I clicked on it to read and comment. And came back again. But 'shocked' might be too strong a word. Thinking of what music is usually covered by DiS and what music the readers of DiS tend to like, it's surprising (better word) to see articles on PATD here. It's not necessarily a bad thing - it shows you're not narrow-minded indie snobs. I guess I'm just surprised.
Honestly
I'm shocked that DiS are spending time on P!ATD
...
Atlas Sound, The Futureheads, Beach House, Destroyer, Mimas, The Notwist, Wolf Parade... And so many others.
2008 will be another great year in music
...
Never heard these guys' albums. I saw them supporting Mogwai in NY last year, and it was absolutely terrible, even embarrassing.
But 9/10... I'll give it a try
This album...
... really surprised me - in a good way. There are songs when I come to think of Animal Collective in their more reflective moments (mostly on Sung Tongs).
Hardly Art made a smart move signing these guys
I wonder...
... Why Patrick Wolf didn't make the cut. And Sunset Rubdown
...
They're definitely not bad, but they're a bit overrated. "Smother + Evil = Hurt" is a fantastic song, and then there are about three decent songs on the album - these songs would have made a good EP, but the album was quite a disappointment.
If they spend some time writing more songs, though, they may someday make a good album.
I agree...
... that they're a bit overrated judging from the EP. They should be good live, though
...
Looking forward to hearing the album.
Rumour has it that Mimas will open for them in Copenhagen in november - that evening can be nothing but beautiful
Ha!
That's the best reply I've seen, well, probably ever!
Oui
The album "Citrus" was released last year. It's okay, but none of the other songs come anywhere near "Thursday"
Thought Discuss
Mimas have come far since "Thought Discuss" and their EP "Hands Will Carry", but it remains one of their strongest compositions. A lot happens in those few minutes, but it all fits together beautifully.
Upcoming album should be good - or great
Definitely promising
Smother + Evil = Hurt is one of the best singles to come out from Denmark in many years. While the entire debut album may not live up to this song, it definitely shows that these guys can get far if they only stay focused

I have to agree...
As a former (huge) Strokes fan, I did have some expectations. Especially after the more than decent first single. It actually reminded me a bit of Phoenix! But along with 'Glass' it's the only good song on the album
