a) Lots of people don't pay for downloads. I never would, for one. So they're paying for CDs and vinyl. I'm sure that makes up more than 1% of all the music downloaded or bought.

b) Come on. Do you really think there's a demand for people to be spending 20 times more of their income on music than they are now? lol at you if so.

blew me away, yet again. See The Light, in particular, is up there with the very best he's done. Of course, it's going to be almost impossible for him to ever match the level of GMS again, but I think the new album's really really good all the same, and this is one of the highlights.

It's absolutely brilliant. Dangermouse's work on it is great. Clever and engaging without ever moving in on Linkous's spotlight. Fantastic song.

And labelling it a "quick-fix slice of summery indie-pop" is kind of understating Linkous's skill as a songwriter, I'd say. This is a bit more than just that.

Fucking Albini. Last Splash sounds so much better.
