So far
It's two against, one for. I am nervous, nervous, nervous. It's only their first "real" album and it's already make or break with me. I'm hoping for the best and expecting less, much less.
Love Them
A great band who give an excellent live show. Can't wait to get this one.
Ouch
Based on this review, I have a lot of F.E.A.R about listening to Mr. Brown's latest solo effort.
A Moment of Silence...
For every band that started out cool and decent, only to spiral down to complete crap.
Unlike SFG, who have started at the bottom and based on garbage like "She's So Lovely," will stay there, forever. Soon to be heard at coffee shops everywhere. Ugh.
Yes
Onslow's summation is perfect - for me they quickly changed from a "can't get enough" band to "good in very small doses." Bummer.
I Gues For Me...
It has a lot to do with his voice sounding the same a lot of the time, the guitar on several tracks sounds the same, there just seems to be a pattern to their stuff that when I first heard it, it blew me away, but with each new song I hear, there doesn't seem to be much difference. I am hoping the album is awesome and that it proves me wrong, but with their last two singles, there's not much to show any growth.
Worried
First song of theirs I heard, Terra Nova, I loved. Bought Progress Reform and couldn't help noticing the songs all had the same pattern - quiet beginning, louder, faster middle, bombastic/loud ending. Hoped for better in the future. Bought Spencer Perceval - same pattern as before. And now this song is the same, too. Does every song have to sound alike? Doesn't bode well for the album, I'm afraid. I like ILT, but I'm running out of patience.

He Is Yet Another
example of how rock and roll is a young man's game. There are exceptions, but most bands/singers can't seem to keep their levels of greatness once they're past a certain age - most of the time it's between 35 or 40. His last three solo albums has been pretty dreadful and even Southpaw Grammar ran on fumes a bit. Throw him in the scrap heap with scores of others like Oasis, Manic Street Preachers and Billy Bragg.
