That's wicked!!

90s nostalgia here I come!

No Seafood!

Er...yeah, no Seafood!

Not The Sun

is pretty much "Bigmouth Strikes Again" with different vocals. Lacey has a really cool habit of referencing 80's English bands - The Cure etc - and has always said how much he loves Morrisey and The Smiths, so it's probably a really cool homage.

Awesome album.

Awfully special guests= slayer

Raz "persuaded" Slayer to play the DiS birthday bash when he saw them at Reading. True story, I was there.

Colin Murray

Did anyone see Colin on BBC 3 having a go at the people watching for not buying their album and being responsible for them splitting? I've never heard them, but I thought that was quite funny.

This Girl

probably.

ha ha

that's pretty funny.

Shame...

Putting that comment on their myspace is a horrible (and pointless) thing to do Seymour MBA. Ok, you might not like their music, that's beside the point. A band that are quite young and inexperienced have been ripped off by a supposedly supportive indie(ish) label. The whole Thursday thing should put any band off signing with Victory (or any label at all), but you can understand in their excitement at being able to tour, record etc, naively signing the deal and a couple of years down the road realising that they should really be earning money for their work.

In any other industry, that sort of practice wouldn't be allowed. Could you imagine going to work for three years, expecting to be paid "eventually" only to be told that you've had to pay for all the corporate lunches you've been to, our after-work drinks, so there's no actual money left for you?

And to say they sound like any other band is also irrelevant, you'd expect to get paid if you input data like any other office worker wouldn't you? They were employed to sell records, not to be original or break new ground. They sold records, so deserve to be paid.

And another thing: Tony Brummel won't put Victory bands on iTunes, because they won't agree to his payment ratio. He demands more per song than any other label.

It's a shame I like so many bands on that label.. I really want to hate it :(

Ah The Dome...

So many under-age drunken nights there. I fell down those stairs as well, it's ok though, there's some bangin' 90s metal to sooth the pain when you get to the bottom.

:(

Thanks

:(

Can anyone tell me what time :( is on?

Cheers

This seems to explain it:

"Petty releases his third solo album (and first for Rick Rubin's American Recordings), Highway Companion, on July 24."

No publicity is bad etc etc...

That main pic

Looks like me... freaked me out a bit!

Probably...

more than one car was used in the film.

I've sat in KITT. True story.

Avid...

And he looks too much like Avid Merrion. Can't take him seriously.

Private Press...

was wank though. So I've lost faith.

Eh?

Ok, maybe that was a bit vitriolic, but do you get my point?

Get over yourselves.

I told myself I wouldn't comment on DiS anymore, but I can't help it. There are so many things wrong with this "story" and your comments.

Firstly, they're a pop punk band. Get over it. They sound almost EXACTLY like New Found Glory. They're not emo or scenemo or anything else. POP PUNK - remember that, it's what you fuckwits called (what you now call) "emo" bands back in the nineties.

Secondly, why is this in the "news" section? Bands release singles and tour everyweek, it's not news is it? Especially if they're not a "DiS approved" band. It warrants a review at the most.

Is it here so you lot can compare to see who hates them the most and elevate your egos by putting a band and their fans down? If you don't like them, ignore them. In my opinion, it's as "scene" to hate a band because everyone else does as it is to like them.

Live

This is obviously all about the "live show". I don't think they could record, but live, I think they'll be great. Especially for people that didn't get the chance to see them when they were first around. Jerry sang most of the time towards the end anyway. Layne hardly sang at all on the Unplugged show. And as somebody said before, Jerry plays AiC songs live. At a Camber sands thing (kerrang I think) he played pretty much only AiC songs. It was good.

No that's him...

Acording to Popbitch/Holy Moly etc. One of the posts was something like..."which Cool rapper which Ladies Love has just moved in with his boyfriend" or something similar.

I think...

the review is fair; the album is ok, the songs are a little over-catchy, but generally not a bad album. The only thing I would say is that it sounds pretty much like fall out boy, but with added bepps and bleeps, so why is this review so much better than the "Sugar..." review?

Proof read dude!! 2

Why don't you all get proper jobs? Shut down the site, it's SHIT

Proof read dude!!

Loosers?

Ahahahahahaha

Wicked!

Brilliant!

You've got to give it to Prince. Dispite not being a musical entity since the early ninetees, he still has the balls to pull this shit. He still hasn't confirmed whether he's gonna play or not has he? He's like a little kid, pushing things as far as he can. For that, he rules. Great guitar player as well.

Eh?

Postal Service

Deathcab are gonna be around at the same sort of time as Lewis. A Postal Service gig would be wicked. Not gonna happen though. Oh well.

What..

for something heavier with more life in it? You're probably right. I'll give it a go. It can't be any worse than "Resolve".

Location

Written and directed by Lauren Goodman, the film will focus on Gaye’s last few years when he moved to Belgium after leaving Motown under a cloud of drug addiction and tax problems. The singer was murdered by his clergyman father in 1984, a day before his 45th birthday.

Maybe Hungary's standing in for Belgium?

I think he meant...

why would Kerrang be involved in Wireless when it's already sponsered by O2.

Nice rant though. The new album is shite isn't it. The new single sounds like a robbie Williams song. I think it's Called Before I Die or something. That's how crap they are now.

The last song on 1x1 is one of the best they've ever done in my opinion. They're still capable, which makes it so much worse. I don't think there's any going back now. Boooo

Art Alexis...

Signed my school report in 1997. True story. Ask peter white, he was there!

2-1 ODDS...

They do a "secret" show. In a small club near the date. They always do. My money's on the Carling Academy islington.

WOW!

I didn't think there were actual, real people out there like that. Scary!

xoxox-my-heart-bleeds-red-xxxoxox (Jem)

Hoax!!!

You must have made up emo_punk_chickxxx's letter surely? I don't believe it. It's Raz isn't it? Go on admit it. I want her modded MySpace site as proof (including 45 degree black and white "profile" pic. No deal without that).

Why's he a cunt?

Did I miss something he did? Also, where's James Iha? I'm starting to think he didn't do too much though?

I love the pumpkins, but something about this doesn't seem right. I think somebody said in an earlier message board that it is just an excuse for Billy to use the SP name again. If so that would be very sad.

Not if they played Set The Ray To Jerry live though. Then all would be forgiven.

Thanks!

They sound pretty good. Thanks for the info.

BAND?

What are they called? Are they good? Where can I get some MP3s?

MPfrees!

Ask them when the hell Nathan is coming back!!!

Good point...

I eventually found that, but that doesn't have much on them does it? I might have to head to on the rocks tomorrow.

Xerox Teens

Where can I get more info on Xerox Teens? Do they have a site or a MySpace or summit? I've googled, but to no prevail.

Led Zeppelin...

with Dave Grohl on drums. That would be sweeeeeeet.

When are people gonna realise that the Arctic's album is the SAME SONG 13 times? So over-rated.

Hmmm...

That's a bit sensationalist isn't it? A fifth? So what? Hardly "the masses" is it?

It's understandable, not newsworthy though. People leave gigs early all the time. Probably about a fifth leave a gig when it's approaching last train time.

It's just another excuse to have the arctic monkeys in Bizarre again. Wasn't there an interview with their old music teacher the other day? Give me strength.

I think it's pronounced Max-ee-mo - the umlaut innit.

Nine years?

It can't be that long surely? They were a three piece for ages. Until little singer boy shaved a stupid tringle in his head at least. Remember that? Hilarious. Oh let's not forget their DJ... ahahahaha. Tossers!

I raise you £20 that...

the parent (s) are even bigger cunties

Seconded

Rock sound is better than Kerrang! only because:

1. It's monthly; less flab.

2. It gives exposure to lesser known bands

3. You get a CD every month.

4. It introduced me to Glassjaw (not personally ... you get what I mean!)

But worse because it's gig reviews and listings can be anything up to 2 months old. Same for Metal Hammer.

Ahahahahaha....

Ahahahahahahaha ... sorry ... ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Kerrang!

Which, by the way, was last december.

Kerrang!

Dave spoke about it in an interview in kerrang the week before the earl's court gigs.

Great pic...

Ahem. Sorry.
