Re: DiS: All over your 'net

you're obsessed man!

Dead! Dead! Dead! - The cortege rolls into a town near you

Didnt Elbow have a song called that? I do believe its taken from 'Its A Wonderful Life'. You can't fool me, ahahahaha. aha.

Youthmovie Soundtrack Strategies - Ores

what a lovely song it is.

Re: Gallagher in a strop with the label...

Re: YMSS single release party: you really Ores to go...

Re: The Subways

ha the Metro, its wierd how everyone reads that in the morning isnt it? The free paper that has crept into everybodies lives, manipulating their little brains into thinking WHATEVER THEY WANT THEM TO! Oh my god, its the whole 1984 thing again, blah blah etc etc

Anyway, the only good thing about the Subways is that he plays an SG, perhaps the most underated of 'guitars'.

The Subways

Subways are just plain old bland plop.

Various - Public Service Broadcast No.6

woOo!

it is good, yah

Tom Vek - We Have Sound

how shisse does the album cover look? rather poor graduate graphic design from the whole retro typeface school. Tut. no thought what so ever. tut tut.

M83 - Before The Dawn Heals Us

I heard this before 'dead cities'. Its different. So what? I like it, its great. pompous and stupid in places, but great.

Re: YMSS single release party: you really Ores to go...

Nothing like a glass of real ale whilst watching complex art rock. Why, make it a Tanglefoot for me!

The Arcade Fire - Neighbourhood #2 (Laika)

groovy. Although maybe this shouldn't have been the single? Surely Power Out is more immediate? Or have they already released that? CONFUSION! my goodness.

Re: YMSS single release party: you really Ores to go...

The Mars Volta

Its not that people are disagreeing that the Volta kick ass. I think its more the obnoxious bordering-on-A-level-prose writing thats got peoples back up.

The Mars Volta - Frances The Mute

I like the Can reference. I like Can.

TEAM - Set Fire To '05 Part III: TEAM

I'm quite a fan of an old song of their's its called 'fire discipline', wonder if they'l lbring it back

heh, that a cool pic of scott there eh black? ;)

Bloc Party announce massive Autumn tour

ha! hahahahaahaha!

They got the notts one wrong. The offical site says Rock City, which is a lot more plausable.

I thank you.

Re: Bloc Party announce massive Autumn tour

yeah I'll be up for that. kinda expensive, but what can we expect these days from the fickle music industry? ;) I'm just bitter

De Montfort or Notts?

Bloc Party announce massive Autumn tour

Nottingham Royal? What the hell? The Royal Concert Hall? Silly, very silly.

redcarsgofaster - demo

hurrah! What I've heard of them is indeed good. Check out them playing with Love Ends Disaster @ Sumo, Leicester, March 26th. Should be postrock excellente.

Re: WE BELIEVE IN MUSIC (or why it’s really, really important that you buy the Bloc Party LP this we

Nice plug Andy :)

AS for the album, I'm pretty disappointed by it really. It has a few great moments, but its suprisingly a little dull. The last single is rubbish, and its all a bit bare and cold, which I guess is the point, but for some reason it doesn't work that well.

Still 'This Modern Love' and 'Price of Gas' are pretty cool

Re: Cat Deeley leaves CD:UK. A nation switches off

Nah have you seen Channel 4's music coverage recently? It consists of the occasional showing of an unbearably tedious Grove Armada gig from around 6 years ago at around 4 in the morning. Cutting edge, yes.

Re: Cat Deeley leaves CD:UK. A nation switches off

Jane English or whatever her name is (Jane England? Jane Britain?), the woman who does the holiday program. Or something. I know its all a bit vague. Sometimes I wonder if I'm making her up...

Re: Cat Deeley leaves CD:UK. A nation switches off

Ha! Brilliant. It would be a shambolic work of underground indie geneous, with fun skits involvoing various members of BSP and Interpol dressed as nurses or something. And every week they'd have a token pop band that Sean would wink to the camera after and say 'I can't wait to buy that one', before Mogwai would launch into another 10min noise epic....!

Getting carried away, sorry :)

Cat Deeley leaves CD:UK. A nation switches off

shes a plain jane who could only possibly appeal to lonely wanking 40yearolds. The worst bit is when the token indie/rock band of the week plays and she says something along the lines of 'that'll fit nicely in my CD collection' or 'I'll be buying that.' Ha!

Re: Franz Ferdy win two NME Awards

ooh, nice knowledge. 3 brownies for you!

LCD Soundsystem - Daft Punk Is Playing In My House

Yay! Must go and hunt down the Soulwax remix.....'Shibuya', eh? More trendy Tokyo Suburb namechecking I see

U2 - Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own

very generous of you nick. I would have given them.......LESS! LESS THAN TWO AND A HALF!!!!!!!

AHAHA

AHA

The Killers

Does anyone else think the Killlers guitarist is a bit of a bit haired notverytalented ego gimp? I just find him deeply annoying for some reason. I am troubled, yes.

Mylo - Destroy Rock N' Roll

It is utter banal drivel this song. They're some way better electro-ey stuff out there. His album is OK though. Drop The Pressure was rather great. But this is not!

Re: Bloc Party - Silent Alarm

yeah I was quite suprised by the lack of those songs...I am a listening to it now.....This Modern Love is excellent, as is Positive Tension. The whole thing isn't as immediate as I thought though

Re: Bloc Party - Silent Alarm

Come on, have you not seen her in that Sonic Youth video? Although that was about 14 years ago. oops.

Re: Bloc Party - Silent Alarm

Thats exactly what I was going you say you bugger! Damn it, I thought I was the only person who thought that, and people we going to say how clever I am and shower me in sweets and free contraceptives. Now, I must kill you, and die lonely in a field (not dissimilar to the one on the cover).

Bloc Party - Silent Alarm

Hurrah! But Le Tigre? Interesting comparison, but I ain't sure myself. Although I'm sure Kele would like that reference.

That Le Tigre chic is hot isn't she?

Exclusive: Bloc Party to play Barfly gig

Battle this, Battle that. Battle this n Battle that. Raaaaaah!

Neils Children don't really seem that good. They're rather angsty children aren't they? 'mummy! I HATE models, cos they're so THIN, and my girlfriends a FATTY'

and so on.

Anthony Wilson launches F4

'Raw-t'? Christ.

Would you pay half a million to date Halliwell?
