How about
Shellac doing 'Walking In The Air'?
How was
Bill Callahan?
Val Doonican
is playing a matinee at the Broadway Theatre, Catford on 21 February 2007. Who's up for that? Cardigans optional, pints later.
Indeed
Don't think they've ever sung together, have they? Perhaps a cover of Little Drummer Boy, with Jim White behind the kit, would do the job.
Agreed
Time for Bill Callahan to unleash a surprise festive single.
you're wrong too

Fork gone south
Pitchfork 'jumped the shark', imo, after the last redesign some time ago. I really enjoyed the site for the first 2/3 years but gradually the smug knob has been cranked way past 11, along with the pointless lists (recent 'best songs of the 1960s' = good example) and arrogant suggested omniscience of features like 'the month in...' dubstep/Redcar Brass Bands etc. Some of the record reviews now are so pretentious as to be unreadable - pseuds corner ahoy! Shame.
Badly Drawn Boy wears Oxfam
though their prices are getting a little high (£9.99 for a 2nd hand Rush 2CD set?).

Thanks
(heavier than Geoff) capes
Anyone know where tickets (for London)can be had?
I shall
Thanks - ordering Oceanic now...
Forgive me...
but I neither own or know this tremendous-sounding band's music. I want to correct this immediately, so which record should I start with? (BTW, is Oceanic currently out of print?) Cheers everyone.
Shrug
'Massive Attack are one of the most important outfits ever.' Erm, why?
For me, MA are one of the most overrated bands ever. Don't get me wrong - they had some fine tunes (e.g. Inertia Creeps, Safe From Harm) but most of their music is... dull, no? Inoffensive stuff you could play on a car journey to someone who isn't really into music.
(*runs for cover*)
Hang on to your IQ
+ rest of first LP = their best moment, no?
Big Man
Do any 'blessed' midgets feature?
LA story
To which I add Newsnight Review on BBC2 last Friday. Unfortunately, Tom Paulin wasn't on the panel to illuminate parallels between the careers of Ms Allen and Ariel Sharon.
What a racket
Could this be an echo of Japanese protectionism from times past? Perhaps the Bolt were seen as a threat to the domestic noise band economy, ceteris paribus.
Erm
'ice hockey frenzies' - I meant air hockey, of course; must be Super Furry Animals-induced dyslexia.
Another old timer's tuppence...
Sound advice there from The Tortoise, to which I might add - don't think you have to see every band. Three days of music from early afternoon to early morning is knackering in itself. When you add in a few gallons of beer, ice hockey frenzies and dancefloor antics in the Queen Vic pub, Miguel Indurain might struggle with it all. Have a good one - I'll probably bumble past you with a hotdog at 2am, 'Dungeness is so bracing' t-shirt emboldened.
Roastie - for a moment, I read your nod to 'Sleaer kinney' as Slayer Kinney...
