NOT TRUE!
Now, my memory ain't what it was, but there's a b-side to the first single off Nuclear Sounds that she wrote, and it kicks ass, big time.
So, you never know. If it's rockin', I'll come a knockin'.

You get the same deal at Tesco, and I would imagine other supermarkets.
Absolutely bugger-all extras though.

Word.
It's 'sync', not 'synch'. Word.
BUT! That McFly song, other than being fookin' ace, is about her from the newly-back-on-our-screens As If, which is kinda cool. But she don't have that hair in real life boyz, so you'd best get over it... maybe you could fancy a teahcer like your mates do?

Re: The Icarus Line - Penance Soiree
It's a classic record, simple as.
'Mono' was the solid foundation.
'Penance...' is the glorious realisation.
What comes next will probably destroy everything that's come before... let's hope so.
But there's five of them, not four ;o)

Re: a more important band since nirvana?
That's a fairly comprehensive list Mr Future. Well done.
I would also add Refused. But I would. And Sebadoh actually. But these are only of minor importance/influence compared to the bands listed by Mr Future.
What about New KIds on the Block?

Re: a more important band since nirvana?
"I think all decent bands have their importance one way or another."
If you take away 'decent' you've made the best point of this thread.
Every band serves a purpose, be it to blow us away, or to make us appreciate what we've got elsewhere more. I mean, what do you think when you hear a rubbish band? For me, if I hear half of Xfm's output, it makes me thankful for the great stuff sat on my shelves... that sound's really shit. Sorry. But you get my point, right? Even the lamest band makes you grateful for something. Apart from The Stereophonics of course, who make me cough up my Weetabix.
Oh, and Radiohead ARE a rock band. I thought that was fairly obvious, 'rock' being this all-encompassing genre that, to be fair, means very little. I mean, it covers Radiohead, Muse, Nirvana, Saxon, Thunder, Terrorvision, Miss Black America, Pixies, Refused, Planes Mistaken For Stars... etc etc etc.

Re: a more important band since nirvana?
This is the most boring, and pointless thread ever. Nobody is going to agree, so why doesn't everyone agree to disagree and leave it at that. My twopenny worth: Muse = Good live; hit and miss on record. Radiohead = fantastic live; usually good on record. Nirvana = mixed live; horribly overrated on record, but nevertheless responsible for opening the door to public consumption to a plethora of great (and shit) bands. Muse wouldn't exist if it weren't for Nirvana though, but Radiohead probably would, so, does that make Radiohead more important than Muse?
Re: Thursday tour October
Is it worse than 18 thousand bands from Wales and Surrey trying to rip off Thursday and Glassjaw though? At least when kids rip off Blink 182 they're the right age to be doing it - surely to rip off Thursday you've got to be mid to late 20s, have 6 or 7 girlfriends behind you (the makings of an album there...), and sport a rather shiney side-parting. This isn't something the kids should want to do.
When I was a kid I wanted to play music like Jerry Lee Lewis. Man, that shit is dope.

Re: Deftones: Is 'Deftones' better than 'Adrenalin'?
'Knife Party' is very good, if a little Pink Floyd!
And 'Adrenalin' is very good too, but I don't feel it's as balanced as 'Deftones'. Still, 'Engine No 9' is still (maybe) my favourite Deftones song. Go figure...

Re: Thursday tour October
You are wrong my friend. Thursday are mediocre, and just happened to be at the right place at the right time when this horrible nu-emo (I believe Kerrap likes to call it post-hardcore... whatever, I know what that's meant to be like, and Thursday ain't it). Don't get me wrong, I don't mind some of their songs, but a lot of other ones are intolerable. Therefore, mediocre. But, each to their own eh? And as for my balls bubbling in acid, I'll put up a link to the mp3 just as soon as I can.

fuck off and die you dumb fuck. without diy cocks you wouldn't have any shows to go to... where do you think these bands that sell out the bigger venues originate from? dumbass.
sorry about that first bit... a little harsh really wasn't it?

Yes. It is.
Re: Dogs Die In Hot Cars - Nice music in dangerous places
I don't think the venue matters - I saw these guys last night and they stunk.
Re: a more important band since nirvana?
Okay, fair point. Queen and Five's 'We Will Rock You' then. That was after Nirvana!
Other than that, there hasn't been a more important band that Nirvana, apart from maybe Bush and Silverchair, as they've distracted the teeny-grunge girls away from the real deal. Never thought I'd actually condone their existence... ah well.

Re: Sunfactor - Original Motion Picture
Jerry Built... poop.
The best band to ever release through Firefly (not that many are bad mind) was Dead Inside. KNW are decent, and Crash I like, but a lot of the others are mediocre... okay, but nothing special etc. They've yet to deliver on the promise they've shown.
However, Jerry Built suck ass.

Thursgay.
Fukkin suck the fat one... I'd rather listen to the sound of my balls bubbling in a vat of acid. Well, I wouldn't, but it would still be less painful that hearing that knob whine on and on and on, and twirl his mic around his head like a fucking helicopter... dull dull dull dull dull etc.

Feeder have buggered each other ever since their bassist quit wearing those stupid antennea on his head. They had the chance to go away quietly, and blew it.

Re: a more important band since nirvana?
No, Muse have eaten shit from day one.
Abba, however, have proved more important than Radiohead, Nirvana or any band like that - spawn a musical and you're okay in my book, except for Rod obviously.

Re: Mercury Prize: This Year's Nominations (contain ur excitement)
Y'see, I thought that Dizzee would win based on the fact that Ms Dynamiteeeeeee is essentially pop... the urban thing therefore last being don ewith Roni Size. But, it's a difficult call ain't it? If not Dizzee, I'd have to side with the Darkness, just coz that would REALLY piss off some guy at work.

Re: Funeral for a Friend - Juneau
It's not that F4AF are bad... they're not. Saw them live in May and they were fun. But they just sound so much like every other band dooing the Kerrang-endorsed emo rounds at the moment... and the terrifying thing is that there's more to come! Thursday blew up, as did Finch, and Thrice are going that way... and sadly just around the corner there is Spitalfield, Silverstein, Futher Seems Forever, The Beautiful Mistake... THEY ALL SOUND THE SAME!
It's like the horrible garage-rock explosion of a while back, only for baggy-panted kids who listend to Limp Bizkit up until three months ago, or whenever Ashley Bird took over at Kerrang and started bigging up Taking Back Sunday!
But what do I know? I like bands called Small Brown Bike and These Arms Are Snakes! I must be stooopid.

Sunfactor - Original Motion Picture
Matt,
I'm sure the last half-dozen reviews of yours I've read have been 4/5.
Do you really get this many good records?
I guess not; Sunfactor are poop. Been going ages without any success because they're naff. Well, not naff exactly, more painfully average. Sorry. Nice guys though.

Snore...
Wake up kids; nu-emo is dying. All these bands sound the same. Just go buy a Mineral record and a Refused record and listen to them at the same time - badabing there you go, the nu-emo formula.

Ha ha to you all.
You all choose to be in Manchester.
At a mediocre at best 'festival'.
Ha ha.
I'd rather dust my nuts with icing sugar and stick them in an anthill than EVER step foot in Manchester again. For anything.

Re: Deftones - Arenaline
...and, despite your decent argument, 'Around The Fur' is approximately eight times better. Even if 'Adrenalin' does have 'Minus Blindfold' AND 'Engine No. 9', both of which are pretty fucking ace. But in terms of a record as a whole, rather than a compilation of great and avaerage tracks, 'Around The Fur' is a lot better. I have to skip maybe two or three on 'Adrenalin'.
Re: The Hardcore Festival Guide - Part 2
The! Lights! Alive!? Holy shit! Could you get less hardcore?
Ollie my friend, wear your TLA! t-shirt with 'hardcore' pride, but it'll be me getting all the hardcore props with Trapdoor Fucking Exit across my chest. MuddaFUDDA!

Re: Pixies to reform?! Rub your eyes...
Having also seen both Black and The Breeders, and not particulalry being impressed by either, the whole reunion idea seems a littler unexciting. Sorry!
Still, at least Black plays his Pixies stuff solo.

It doesn't have much lasting appeal, that's for sure. Good nonetheless, but I haven't listened to it for ages now.

No, they'd go through ME like a bad curry.
They'd be great at the time, but I'd no doubt feel the after effects for some time afterwards. Well, you've seen inthe papers how much they put it about...

Re: The Hardcore Festival Guide - Part 1
My friends and I have been living Hardcore for the last five years. In that time we've destroyed hippy base camps and attacked the tree-hugging saps with our empty lager cans. We like to mark our territory with a simple circle of spew. This can be achieved on the Thursday night by buying two crates of over-priced and warm continental lager and eating one festival hot dog/'chicken' burger (trust me, that ain't chicken).
God bless the Hardcore for it is almost upon us again.
