agreed!
'97 was awesome - i mean, aside from OK Computer you have
Bjork - Homogenic
Yo La Tengo - I Can Feel the Heart Beating as One
Mogwai - Young Team
Daft Punk - Homework
and Elliot Smith - Either/Or !!!
also, Deftones - Around the Fur - man did i ever loooove that one
Is this a US release?
I thought it had been released everywhere last year, since I bought it in toronto for $15 last summer!
I had no idea they were putting the album out again with a bonus track..
yeah, its such a great album!
'pink cloud tracing paper' = soo fucking good, and the outro to 'red sea' fulfills my need for a shoegaze overdose in the best way possible.. just beautiful
btw, what IS the bonus track?
sorry,
it just sounds like you've been cooped up in a government building or call center for weeks and you desperately need a vacation
i like big words too
..what state of mind were you in when you sat down to listen to this?
Andorra seems to literally radiate summer warmth, and you can't beat Snaith's soaring melodies..
even the more subtle songs like 'desiree' or 'irene' have these beautiful memorable hooks that you can get lost in all season..
Then there's the songs that we'll all be listening to for years like 'she's the one' 'melody day' 'niobe'
Basically what i am saying is, what's your freakin' problem?
#1= Deerhunter - cryptograms /fluorescent grey EP
2 Caribou - andorra
3 Panda Bear - person pitch
4 Sunny Day in Glasgow - scribble mural..
5 Papercuts - Can't Go Back
this year started an unhealthy obsession with Deerhunter for me. after i heard the flourescent grey EP i was hooked
also - listen to the new Caribou - its fucking fantasti
"you're my god.. you're my god.. in hiiigh schoool"
these four songs are brilliant.. 'like new' has to be one of the most beautiful songs I've heard all year, they are able to give their songs this hallucinogenic aura without any pretension.
btw, the first song 'fluorescent grey' doesn't have female/male vocals. its simply bradford cox singing both high and low parts :)
