such nice things - cool article. I like.
The fucking teases.
don't lie about me!!!
guy is as big a disease as Sting. They are just the same. Weller is delusional if he thinks otherwise.
At least Queen were interesting.
sshhhsush (and Mia)
Have you all turned into Nathan Barley?
I adore this record in its original format. Possibly, just possibly, it is the best record I have ever heard.
I would also be interested in hearing it. The EP is great but the fact the album has taken sooo long is not a good sign. I've a feeling the talented one went off to join Chimp as well.
she wrote a couple and recorded a couple of really class albums?
a truly under-rated band. Love 'em. Missing the noise a little, but I am only through a couple of listens of this one.
all of the albums are great, the last one especially, and Albini produced that one also.
This is the best news today. I adore Ms Deal's tunes.
yeah. This is an awesome record.
I have never really liked it much. Grubby. But I suppose it is one of only a couple of venues this size. It would be sad to see ANY venue in London go - if they could rip out the interior and make it a little more like Kings Cross' Scala - which is almost perfect as far as I am concerned - then it would be well worth it. Do the same to the, even worse, Forum as well; though that is literally around the corner from me so it always has a soft spot.
What about the Mean Fiddler venue, is that included??
My God. I want to cry. This is gonna be awesome.
Substance - New Order, and yes, it probably was the best record they did.
Echo and The Bunnymen and lots of Jesus and Mary Chain come to mind straight away, then there's stuff like Sunn 0))) and Growing. Dance music, acoustic singer songwriters..blahhdy blah
seriously fucking terrified me when I saw them. Man berating crowd, throwing himself at scared girls, chucking drinks at everyone? Them? Right?
Part Chimp are my favourite ever live band, I think. They have totally blown me away too many times.
I was gutted. But I didn't need them, they weren't that kind of loud. But they were so exciting. I'll never forget this gig.
are Oneida and Part Chimp.
this story going to be re-written?
plus antony is yum. Can Mean Fiddler do something right? I am not convinced.
he's just not a very nice person. Maybe people don't get on with him.
but I actually really like Gold Lion and that seems to have been slated rather a bit so I'm still looking forward to the record. Gold Lion is a grower.
do Brighten the Corners when they have at least three albums that are far better??
I live in Islington. You try going out in the middle of the night being "posh" - what the fuck does that mean anyway!?
As the review said.
Editors? ha ha
I guess you seriously messed up having no Antony. Those 46 records are better? Really?
I'm downloading the Phil Spector album now. I bought a second hand copy of this in a shop in Liverpool years ago and have never played it cos my record player broke soon after - I'm lazy - so I'm looking forward to hearing it.
"Shane Macgowan is looking horrendously Walsh in that picture"
"That's how Walsh VH1 are"
oh my god, you said it twice. hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah stops for breath - Are you really Nathan Barley?
And what's wrong with trance?
Though it was funny watching a tenth of the audience leave in together after about 30 minutes. I didn't last much longer. I saw Simon Price from the Observer in the lifts at Warren St tube at 10.45, having just left Tesco. He obviously wasn't too impressed either. The band just need to practise more it seems. Oh, and Hockey Night wanted to be Pavement so much it hurt.
