cough.
I went...
...to see them on Wednesday night, and thought it was bloody great, despite the absence of Hegarty. The band were amazing.
A tip: if in a place with a horrific bar like that, buy a bottle of wine. £ per alcoholic volume it's by far the most economical option.
Red Right Hand...
...was rather brilliantly arranged, I thought. Great review otherwise Mike; I hadn't actually realised you were there too.
Nice words
Mr Denney. Factory Floor are marvellous, even if they were cruelly treated by appalling sound at the Notting Hill arts club on Saturday. Their track about building a model aeroplane in 1948 is an especial highlight.
now then
The number of times the word "chav" has been used in this post speaks volumes. I must admit that since living in London (eight years now) I've never been picked on for dressing like a feckless ponce - outside of London I can't seem to walk the streets without a threat of a kicking from some knuckleheaded white male youth. Yet to reduce it all to chavs and neds is to completely ignore the wider social context - in metro this morning the piece on the clearly disadvantaged youths who committed the appalling crime appeared just pages before another on how white working class males are likely to be the biggest underachievers in the education system. These are things that need to be addressed, rather than just making snobbish, generalised statements.
if you book them...
...they will come.
Is that...
...a splendid Day Today reference in the headline Mr Diver?
Kickin' kele
It's dangerous having a mild pop at that lad. Remember the "vanity google" spat between him and Eddie Argos that ended up in flying kicks at Catch?

vile imbeciles
...were, I believe, playing without their regular drummer.
