It would be nice if:
he had a jam with my band
we had a pint or three
and then we just listened to 'Hallogallo' by Neu! on repeat.
I'm 19 and I think Can are great.
I saw Harmonia at ATP. They were well good.
Neu! are the best of the 'Krautrock' bands though.
Also, Yannis playing on a Steve Reich piece?! I can tell he feels it's a dream come true, good for him.
Yeah
Burial just wants the 'music to speak for itself' - he doesn't see the point of making himself known, as he believes this may affect people's opinion of his music. Which I suppose is sort of true.
Oh, and i played some of his music to a few of my friends, who love Dubstep. They said that, despite not being similar to Dubstep in terms of tempo/mood, it used a lot of Dubstep-style instrumentation, structure, etc. They really liked it as well. Yeah.
Burial FTW!
Haha
"James sit down, gain three hundred pounds and have to be airlifted to the number ten spot with Hey Ma."
Download it, and listen to just the keyboard parts.
Really good.
The first sentence of this article
is the funniest thing i've read in ages.
Cheers Gareth!
Am I the only one
who, as a musician, wouldn't care (and would probably be very honoured) if someone sampled my music?
YES!
Great stuff. Really looking forward to this. BlindBlindBlind is one of the best songs they've ever done.
Infromation:
Howard Bilerman co-owns Hotel2Tango (along with Efrim and Thierry, who are both in A Silver Mt. Zion). Hotel2Tango is where GY!BE recorded all of their albums (apart from Yanqui UXO), and where A Silver Mt. Zion have recorded all of their records. He played drums on 'This is Our Punk Rock...' by A Silver Mt. Zion, because they didn't have a drummer then.
Arcade Fire recorded their first album at Hotel2Tango. THey needed a drummer. Therefore he drummed on the record for them.
So it's not really suprising that he co-produced A Silver Mt. Zion's new record. It would have been more 'curious' if he wasn't involved with it at all.
Yours sincerely,
Mr. Pedantic.
When I saw them live (admittedly quite a while ago)
they played about 4 new ones. Really really good stuff.
I'm looking forward to this.
Ummmm
What. The. Fuck.
I disagree.
He's like, ya know, boring.
Agreed.
Another excellent review from Mr CBL.
True
but both bands lack any sort of imagination.
Balloons:
A little bit boring?
Yep.
Good point.
Example: Seasick Steve.
(although he's only released a couple of albums, so I'm using him as an example more to show that age is irrelevant).
Great Article.
Odd Nosdam'a new album is excellent too.
Their Astoria gig
has moved venues to 'Astoria 2' (Mean Fiddler) by the way.
I think
they're one of those bands with 20 members, and who have several people assigned to playing the proverbial kitchen sink.
Which explains why some bits are absolute gash.
Yes
But he rejoined recently. He plays on their latest album.
Yes
But he rejoined recently. He plays on their latest album.
LOL
.
Good Review
I didn't really like Cove though. I thought they were lacking dynamism (it was just heavy all the way through).
Twinkie didn't play - Superman Revenge Squad did instead.
It was the first I've seen Meet Me in St Louis, and I loved them (despite the slight sound problems). 3hos and Future Corpses were great as well.
This was the first all-dayer I've been to where I watched all the bands. Which, in other words, means: a fookin' excellent day.
Silver Rocket = qwality.
