Belfast was postponed
What the fuck? There was just a postponed sign up on Katy Daily's I had no clue. Anyone know why? Or when the new date will be?
Seriously tho, I can't see tickets anywhere
Not even on ticketmaster, nooooooo!
Re. Belfast date!
I am also so there!
Where/when are the tickets on sale?
Best live band I've seen
Ever! I was a fan of Siamese Dreams & Mellon Collie & thought I might as well see them live, which I did in Belfast last Sunday & they blew me away, completely phenomenal. If they aren't living up to their past performances then they must have been completely life affirmingly exquisite back in the rose tinted 'olden days'. Nostalgia aside they make most of the posing, passion-less bands of today look completely ridiculous.
Beth Ditto performing in her underwear must have been fun
at the very least interesting?
I know, they get all the luck
It's a dream gig *sigh*
You lucky so & so's Bloc Party & Biffy
And we in Northern Ireland get neither :(
So generous with the tour dates that conor is
two whole gigs!
The grand old duke of York
he had ten thousand men you know!
Wasn't that a game we played at primary school?
What time is it Mr. Wolf!
The Noisettes were amazing supporting Muse, but although brilliant live, I'm not sure how their music will translate to an album!?
Tesco is evil!!!
It's a bit like the Nazi's only with more freaky dudes with moustaches!

^Is actually going to happen
We all know the ending
Won't exactly be a great film when we already know pretty much the entirety of the plot. They should do one with alternate endings playing out all the conspiracy theorys.
I.e Dave Grohl killed him to under-whelm rock fans for enternity with the foo fighters
or, Courtney Love & Billy Corgan planning to elope, murdered him with a candle stick in drawing room & made it look like suicide
Now that would be entertaining!
Demeaning & Sexist as the process sounds
I'd have to say, I'd be tempted to join in where the Klaxons are concerned!
That Klaxon in the blue ribbons
In the Golden Skans video, oh good god he's the sexiest guy in existence!!! Really want to see them live but the whole rave element scares all of my friends, damn music snobs!
Inspired Idea
Idlewild guy! Can't wait.
Saw vital on the telebox
the other night seemed ok, but I think the atmosphere @ the Ulster Hall was what made their gigs there so amazing! They do a few old songs on their tours but I think they're aware that the vast majority of their fanbase just want the sing along tracks from eyes open & final straw, actually think I'm being a bit harsh on final straw tho, overall it's a pretty amazing album
I think alot of their success is b/c of Gary's voice, whether you like their style or not you can't deny it's bloody amazing!!!
P.S IrishMagpie, do you think there's any chance of bloc party adding belfast to their dates? Just got an email saying they had updated but turns out they added bournmeth & guilford, meh.
Maybe not Mike Patton alternative then
But different from the mainstream stuff they've suck with for safety's sake! I know what you mean IrishMagpie if they were a new band with only this album to offer I wouldn't have noticed them but 'Songs for polarbears' &' when it's all over we still have to clear up'are fantastic & final straw had sprinkles of amazingness. Though, I do think Iain Archer's song writing input contributed alot to previous albums Gary can have a one track mind sometimes, how many bloody relationships can one man screw up & deeply regret, hehe
Anway their first ulster hall gig in november 04 & their last one in may this year were AMAZING, two of the best gigs I've ever been to! I'm not sure how they'll translate in the odyssey but in small venues they are out of this world! I think they still have alot to offer!
Who's their manager?
I'm a huuuge Snow Patrol fan, mainly because of the two albums pre final straw & final straw itself. Not sure about eyes open tho, it's all went a little too maintreamy. But, gary's voice is amazing & they are fantastic live, especially @ home in Belfast! They have stuck with the middle of the road formula that brought them sucess but it's only a matter of time before their more alternative, genuis re-emerges mark my words!
A solo album
the world holds it's breath! Squirrels aside it really does say alot about the decline of the NME & society in general when an obese, obnoxious, american is deemed the coolest person in music, she can sing granted. However, her band sucks & if she is the embodiment of 'cool' then I think most of us would rather avoid it!
Too poor to afford fast food
Not likely!
The NME cool list has lost all my resepct, not that it ever gained much of it but her? Pah
IrishMagpie, I concur!
Bastards! They were amazing last November in the Ulster Hall! One of the best gig's I've ever been to & they go & do that do us, not nice! Anyone think there's a possiblity of any additions to the dates then?
This review's pretty harsh!
I wouldn't describe myself as being a fan of mindless, meaningless rock but I think this album is amazing! Sometimes you just want something to turn up & rock out to & this is perfect!!! There's not one song on the album that doesn't deliver.
Yes, Grohl's drumming is great but Juliette Lewis has brilliantly versatile vocals raw, loud, gritty one moment & gentle & understated the next & her acting abilities really come across in some songs, namely 'death of a whore' Those Lick's aren't half bad musically either!
No, the lyrics aren't tackling the world's major issues or offer any cathartic experience to the listener but this album don't half ROCK!!!

I wanted Laura Marling to win
It's a fantastic album & I had bet £10 she would. That'll teach me not to gamble, I'm usually dead against it but the nominations were announced a few days after I saw her live & she was completely amazing!!!
