I didn't know until tonight
It appears it's
vinyl
Listening to this album right now
It's a hoot, brilliant!
Very original, clever, never dull.
What annoys me ..
are the fans that will lap up anything Muse will throw at them - of course Muse are knowingly using this to have a good laugh ... at their expense. Until people realise that the whole thing is shite (and the band knows it!), Muse will not change direction musically. They will squeeze it till it dries up.
I agree
it's very deceptive on first listen - as it flows so nicely, but it ends up really showing its depth after a few listens. Brilliant, truly.
I've been listenint to it
quite a few times now, connecting more and more with it, great album.
Looking forward to watching it now
after that article. I'm the only that do here but always a treat! :D
I love it
it's just right up my street. It's a brilliant jukebox.
What I found incredible is the number of people with the same kind of 'music jams' I was putting up to start with.
I did not have to resort to 70's music at all! :P
I must say
I love that Climax song by Usher. He really comes through vocally very strong on that one.
Oh well ...
1997 - my eldest daughter was one year old. I was walking half dazed through day and night trying to make things work. She wasn't sleeping at night and I was working full time. No internet, no music except as someone mentioned dreadful stuff on the radio like All Saints and such.
I'm glad though I can appreciate what I missed .. and now I'm listening to music as if it was 1997.
In a way, not much loss. :)
Great article though.
me too!
I did like the last album too though ...
I agree
with 'solid and enjoyable' but I would be more generous - a solid 8. :)
Really enjoyed my first listen to it - could be quite a grower.
That album is a great listen
.. just what I need in January. Great.
Excellent
compositions. I've particularly enjoyed the piano lines. A great album to listen to before going to sleep.
Yes, I'll start there I think. :)
Will listen to it again, might have been in the wrong frame of mind. 'Ston cold killer'? Ok, let's give it another spin.
Listening to it right now,
can't help feeling this is mediocre fare. I don't know if it is the singer's voice that's grating on me after a while .. or the lack of originality in the songs ... hmph. :(
There's a few tracks on Spotify and they're great!
Where can we listen to the album? :D
Not to worry, just a difference of opinion
very courageous to write a review. I know I could not do it myself!
I think it's one of those albums that will 'work' for some people and not for others. I think quite a few people will be put off by his voice. I quite like it myself.
I would also like him to do an instrumental album 'a la World's End Girfriend' mould. That would be something.
Nothing astonishing? Really?
An album which has a track like 'Flickers' on it should be getting more than 7/10 imo. Overall, I think the album works really well, a strong 9/10 for me. I agree the next one could be a 10/10.
Wow!
That lounging area seems to be the place! Amazing photos from there.
only 7??
I think 8 or 9 for me, most exciting listen for a while.
Contrary to the last post ..
I was in love with the Beat and the Puls .. so I was disappointed by the lp. It's good in parts but missing these thralling beats!
Listening to it for the first time..
really enjoying it. I think the review does not do the album justice.
Well said.
I feel exactly the same about this record. 'She Wants' most beautiful and romantic song of the year for me so far ..
I really enjoy that album
I think for a first it's a good one.Loving it!
I actually looove ...
Alex Turner's voice. Always have. True.
You're just jealous!
It would be too much to hope
that Owen Pallett will be in the top 10.
Is it because it came out so early in the year?
Haha,
listening to their Spanish turn on Evolucion - not bad either.
Loving it
I was impressed by the band's French (no trace of accent whatsoever!) on the cover of Coralie Clement - Bye Bye Beaute. Just checked their background on Wikipedia. Two of the bands' members met in the Lycée français de New York (USA).
The things you learn.
I agree with this ...
ironic they won Best British Band award when their best albums are behind them.
Yep, when I think about all the other great Muse b sides ...
(Recess,Fury, Host,Deadstar etc ..) and I hear the 'Resistance', I just wanna put my head in my hands and cry.*Sighs*
Internet Warrior
is such a good song. I do feel that although I'm enjoying the album very much, it's uneven in parts.
Wrong
I've already got Chew Lips on my ipod. I don't have any La Roux. Enough said.
For one, Tig' s voice is 100 times more beautiful than that singer from La Roux!
I agree
the riff is everything. The riff is life itself.
I'm listening to their Myspace and I can feel the riff.
Excellent.
E is for Estranged,
will become one of my favourite songs ever. I know I will never tire of it.
Hehe,
really liked reading this, truly funny. Some bands I've never heard of - Death by Chocolate??? Like the sound of this!

I think that album is way more than 7 out of 10.
It's got surprising depth. Listen to it again.
