The comments from Ken just show he has absolutely no understanding of live music venues. As anyone into gigs knows bigger is not better and modern comfort has no place when you're in the sweat pit down the front. Grimey it may be, but surely that is all part of going to a gig, who the hell wants to go to a gig in a large anodyne box with 'comfortable' seats. What about atmosphere and history? No, you're right Ken, we'd rather have a ticket hall, flats and retail space - all obviously sadly lacking in London. I'm 'sure' there was no alternative plan that could accomodate. I believe TfL is also posing a threat to the Electric Ballroom; the Palais and Spitz amongst others are already gone and all I've heard forom Ken is lip service and demolition.

Sod Essex and Maidenhead if you want easier access to London pay the exhorbitant rent for tiny flats like the rest of us! Why anyone would want to get to Essex any quicker is beyond me...
