don't let that stop you
I'm going to Leeds gig on my own (mind you I go to 95% of gigs on my own, no friends with similar music taste)
Leeds! Yes!!
I think I should get a ticket for this!
Faith No More
highlight of the weekend for me, absolutely awesome! Never got to see them back in the day so, cynicism about reformations aside, I fucking loved it!! Much smaller crowd than I expected though, gave me room to leap around, excellent! :)
was going to check out A Place To Bury Strangers
but ended up sitting with friends, drinking beer and watching Deftones, damn my laziness and festival clashes! Deftones were pretty bloomin' good though!
Hmmm
I got this yesterday, not that impressed on first listen, but will give it time, after all And The Glass Handed Kites took 2 or 3 listens before it clicked and now I love it!
I was umming and ahhing about getting a ticket
for the Leeds gig, decision now made, ticket bought!
As usual
I regret not getting more into something once it's too late! Up until John Peel died I'd always said "I must listen to him more", but didn't and then it was too late. I visited New York briefly in 2000 and said to my friends "let's do the Empire State Building, I'm sure I'll come nack to NY some day and we'll do the Twin Towers then", D'oh! I felt the same about Plan B whenever I read an issue (not enough, and I apologise for that).
I'd not heard of the magazine until I went to ATP NBC in 2006 and you were given a copy with your wristbands (it had Deerhoof on the cover) and I remember thinking, this is an interesting mag, I must by this again.
Damn procrastination!
Yep, loving this album
it's going to be my summer soundtrack I think. I'm off on holiday to Cornwall next week, this will sound great with the roof down driving on the coast road, sun shining etc!
eh??
This is one of the first reviews on this site to which I have a completely opposite opinion to the reviewer! I love this album, it will be high on my end of year lists, weirdly enough Panic Switch is one of my favourite tracks on it! Ah well, subjectivity and all, it's an 8 for me.
clashes with NIN, darn!
Although on the other hand, NIN, yay!
Yes I did
totally underwhelmed, I think I've only listened to it two or three times.
hmm
I've never been able to get into these guys really. I've bought both albums based on rave reviews on this site but they've just never really grabbed me even after multiple attempts, I might just have to give up.
Listened to it three or four times now
and it's starting to click into place, I think it's excellent, agreed on 8/10
pedant-mode
actually it should be Kate Moross's if it's her video, when written Moross' it implies there are more than one Kate Moross and they all own the video.

Good review
personally, however, I would score it a high 9, I've had it on almost permanent repeat since I got it! Will, without doubt, be high on my end of year list!
That's strange
This article says that Leeds Jumbo records are part of the coalition, yet according to the Record Store Day website Jumbo aren't participating but Crash Records are! Anybody know what good stuff will be happening in Leeds?
Great gig
I missed most of the Casiokids due to traffic problems getting there from Leeds, but I loved of Montreal, great to see a bit of theatrics in a show for a change. I thought the covers were ok, an enjoyable way to end, and the crowd certainly seemed to appreciate them!
Great photos too, none of the ninjas though? I was quite surprised when one of the little ones squeezed past me half way back in the crowd to dance with some people near me, not as surprised as them though!
Looking forward to this album
I love Armchair Apocrypha, I hope he does some dates up north.
Damn, too slow!
:o(
My feelings exactly!
:o( Only consolation is that I saw Isis & Torche on Sunday in Sheffield and they were awesomeness!!
Great great band!
I feel honoured that I was at this;

(Puss live at Reading 1994)
shit, I meant Life's Rich Pageant is my favourite
epic fail, can't even remember which album I like best!
I've got this on pre-recorded cassette somewhere
from years ago, haven't heard in ages. Could be a good reason to buy this! Great album, although I still think Document is my favourite.

Friday
is our dress down day, can't wear t-shirts any other time :o(
I'll have to do it on Friday 5th instead. I might wear my Leatherface t-shirt to work tomorrow though.
Wow!
having seen them live in 1994, it would a crime to miss them if you have the chance! Unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to come to ATP though :o(
I guess so
I was just imagining him sitting there in a grotty pair of y-fronts! :o)
I only have Field Rexx
I ought to invest in more as every time i listen to it it always surprises me how good it is for some reason! Which of the other three do you guys recommend I get?
looking forward to the new record
and what the hell are 'House pants'??
I've got Zerox
on 7" vinyl. Just thought I'd say that.
In the past
I have used WinMX and Soulseek quite a lot, but the novelty wore off and I rarely download anything now unless it's a download only release. I will sometimes download something off a p2p to see what a particular artist are like if they have nothing on Myspace, but if I like them I'll normally buy one or more of their CDs.
I prefer to have the physical cd in my hand, I have only ever paid for one or two tunes off iTunes, it always feels like I'm not getting anything for my money.
The Jesus Lizard one
or RIP by Rocket From The Crypt.
I want to get the Guided By Voices one though, looks really good.
Crash records
is tiny! By the time the band are set up there won't be any room for anyone else!
I really liked Mr Beast
Happy Songs.. is my favourite Mogwai album, Rock Action would be quite low down in my list.
Only given Hawk a couple of listens so far but I'm really liking it. Can't wait to see them in Manchester in a few weeks.
Definitely going
to the Leeds date. Shame they'll be minus Ashley Dean but I'm sure they'll still be ace, and if Jeniferever are supporting, even better! Can't wait!

Didn't really expect them to, and yes, I am very excited about seeing them next Saturday! Woooo!
Self-titled is my favourite!
God this looks good!
Like my dream festival! What a crying shame none of my mates want to/can go :o(
If I had the dosh I'd just grab a chalet to myself but I don't. I'll just have to try and refrain from reading these sorts of news items from now on!
cheers
I can't access myspace at work, will have to remember to check when I get home.
No Leeds?
Damn! I wish I'd gone to see these guys instead of the Hold Steady the other week :o(
Got tickets
for Manchester, can't believe I've not seen them before now! Excited!
Sweeping statement I know
I wasn't saying that to enjoy it you had to be a nerd, the two mates I went with also found it superb and they aren't nerds either! I was just commenting on a fair bunch of the people standing near me.
As long aas you weren't the guy holding up his lighter! :o)
Big fat meh
I've seen them twice now and I've finally come to the conclusion that I just don't like them.
I hear one song and think, yeah that's pretty good but by the time I've heard the second or third, I'm bored. They just don't grab me in any way.
Judging by the crowd at the Irish Centre last week they also have the nerdiest fanbase in music :o) one guy was actually holding his lighter in the air, my how I wanted to punch him!
ps
Juanita = hot!
They play
their guitars with pineapples and bananas??
Diamond shaped?
That's not gonna fit in my cd player!
Blimey!
A fair amount of flesh on display there! Can't decide whether I like the song though.

Fantastic Album!
I've got the original copy without Asleep in the Back on it, may have to upgrade to this.
