My friend

says exactly the same thing about Videotape.

Yeah, good mix.

Why

is every website writing about Twitter today?

I Found A Reason

is one of the best things ever recorded.

It's one of those things, isn't it? Popstar cleans up, gets mental well-being, releases most boring material in career.

I like

Close The Door.

He's obviously never played

Broken Sword.

I am surprised

at the omission of Purple Rain.

Animal Collective

aren't poor or in difficult circumstances and I'm pretty sure they've been making some of the most forward-thinking "art" for a while now.

As a complete Krug fanboy

this was a good read. That said, no mention of Us Ones in Between or I'll Believe in Anything is sacrilege and the best lyrics he's ever done are on The Taming of the Hands That Came Back to Life. They're so meta!

So

many Telecasters.

Warnings/Promises

has 4 excellent songs. Worthy of the name Idlewild.

Mark Ronson

was engaged to Rashida Jones at one point.

That was a criminal injustice.

The Hold Steady

can do no wrong.

Excellent review Mr Passantino, as ever.

I doubt

that "Yannis Phillippakistani" would say something so tired in the first place.

Did you learn

nothing from Anton Newcombe, Hayes?

You were supposed to kick him in the face.

Risking ire once more

but the parts where his cohort plays some oft-forgotten hip hop has actually gotten me into Camp Lo and Brand Nubian, which can only be a good thing.

Sorry guys.

Yes

if it has Christian Bale.

"Be" always seems like a happy, fun album even if the lyrics aren't especially.

Heh.

Well, it's not NOW.

Is everything

supposed to be in italics?

Always a jolly good read.

C)

I'd like to go to the show in Bristol that has not been announced yet.

She

sounds like Sinead O'Connor.

f*

f*

You need ta

Diversiy yo bonds, nigga.

Is this

an excuse for DiS to include "nigger" as many times as possible in a news story?

If so, I support it.

An Academy tour

eh?

I already bought tickets to the rather enthusiastic Roundhouse show, but a local gig is even better. Hooray for BSP!

Spineless funk-lite?

Oh heavens.

I heard

these guys on an early morning kids show in France a couple of weeks back. They played On My Shoulders and it was both captivating and awful. It got better with more listens but 9 is pretty generous.

Wouldn't it have been

more sensible to attract the non-rock fans by putting on more than one non-rock artist on the bigger stages?

"You've got one black man, what more do you want?!"

Still

doesn't stop being talking about RH in it, though.

Is Ibold

still playing with SY these days?

I remember

that they once played St. Bonaventures in Bristol and I was going to go, despite having never heard a note.

Instead, I stayed at home and have regretted it ever since.

Bizarrely

I thought Time To Pretend was the only worthwhile thing on the otherwise fairly boring Oracular Spectacular (Kids aside).

I am no longer hip, it seems.

8 is

probably fair although I didnae think Pig Lib lacked "warmth" and Spiral Stairs control over Malkmus in the studio may be slightly overstated here (and completely overstated if Steve West's comments a few years back are to be believed).

BSP

are the new Alan Bennett. I would love to read more memoirs.

This one ^

deserves more attention.

Anything the man does

will be adored by me.

I wish

my friends were cool.

I am so dissapointed I'm going to have to miss out on this.

Gin and Juice

is making a comeback on the house radio.

Probably

Chris Martin's best work for years.

Take that how you will.

The

money.

Pretty great

video, tho.

Snoop really pulls off that 70s vaseline-screen look.

Swindon Oasis

was the industry standard until we discovered Sedgemoor Splash. My childhood was changed for the better after that.

There's a little

two note jump in the keyboard bass bit in the chorus that reminds me of a C64 game or something.

Great song.

I'm fairly sure

his face is the same in ever picture.

Side on and slightly smug.

Dear Johnny Foreigner

I have followed your never-less-than-stellar recommendations on DiS for a while, bought your album and tried to work out whether it's worth gluing the pop-up buildings together and spent hours on Soulseek trying to download mp3 recordings of your vinyl-only first releases.

When I read that you play to a crowd in Scotland who are wholly receptive but shockingly lacking in number, all I can do is further implore you to play in Bristol.

Three cheers

for the Wandering Horn!

Yes

Tip top album.

First listens warranted a 10 and a "defining album" tag, alas further lisetns slightly take the sheen off. The first half is monstrous though (and the organ in 'All In It' is spine-tingling).

No Bristol

seriously?

I didn't

like any of the MJ stuff from their album but rather enjoy this.

Although

won't he be clothed as it is Playboy, not Playgirl?

A new original Will Sheff track...

...already available on their 2002 album "Don't Fall In Love With Everyone You See".

I love new things that have been around for 5 years. (And, yes, I know this is a more recent live version)
