ash, Tom did the 'watch me' bits when I saw them live last month
Did surprise me somewhat.
This is a stunning album. I can't stop listening to it. With every listen something new opens itself up to you. Gorgeous production and hilarious lyrics. Album of the year so far.
Poor album
I wouldn't say it's 2/10 but it's pretty dull. The second wasn't up to much either, but the first album is pretty much perfect for what it is.
To say I'm excited would be a severe understatement
I might actually burst.
NiN (Manchester)
Put a donk on it.
The Darkness.
Best thing to listen to in the dark by miles. And in the light.
Scary as shit record
It's the ultimate album for when you're driving in the small hours and want to make yourself really paranoid.
I think that was actually taken at Reading, I can't remember
Either way it was a beautiful moment.
Wow, only 7/10?
Album of the year so far for me (well, that and Fever Ray, time will tell which sticks most).
Absolutely stunning record, yet another success for Asthmatic Kitty.
Yeah this is a 10/10 for me too
Album of the year so far. Perfect.
Paperbiog Writer
DEAR GOD.
Holy shit
is it really happening?
Very good album
Can get a bit cheesy sounding at times, but for the most part excellent. I agree with the review, they're ones to watch in the future for sure.
"I don't think The Dears are capable of making shit records."
Well Murray, you've managed it twice in a row now so well done.
The new album is a piece of shit, and he really is a pretentious tosser- fuck_this_band, this interview doesn't even show him up as much of one, in comparison to what he's normally like.
They played it live when I saw them supporting Blonde Redhead
I think- I didn't know Foals at the time but I'm pretty sure they played Balloons.
I was around then too
But never bothered signing up.
DiS 3.0 has been the best so far.
Probably not quite enough I want to see to buy the £45 ticket
But shall certainly try to get a Volcano! ticket on the door.
The only two records I love
from the list, Three and Limbo, Panto, didn't even make the top five. :(
Not a patch on her previous two albums
But still has some great tracks. 7/10 is about right. 'Jungle Drum' is awful and I have to skip it every time it's on. 'Gun' and 'Dead Ducks' are the highlights.
^ this
And Yeasayer, obviously. Sunday was the best day all-round.
That's a good point
Hi Ryan Adams! Would you like a cup of tea?
Don't think they did
Avenged Sevenfold did, mind.
Great article
Yeasayer were brilliant, just a shame they only got to play 4 songs. I took two friends along with me and they left after the first track, stupid berks.
Holy Fuck were good too but the crowd was mostly dead, which was a shame. The sound at Reading never helped and it certainly didn't help win my friends over as much as a normal Holy Fuck live performance would.
This is good
As long as no one behind the scenes has had their fingers burnt too much.
Glad The Quietus is staying.
It did seem like everything was expanding a little too quickly.
Woohoo!
Ridiculously pretentious song titles as always, they wouldn't be the same without them.
Seems like forever since Ten Silver Drops, very much looking forward to this.
Quite like the new song
But dear god, what pretentious pricks;

Lightburn and Yanchack are the only two left?
Fucking hell I swear this band have had about 30 different members, they must be so difficult to work with.
Listening to the new track now... thought the last album was shit but No Cities Left is one of my favourites...
I'm gonna go with A) Of course not, you fool!
This would be nice.
Haha
It wouldn't suprise me.
I don't think a KOL album has gone by without at least one STI reference.
They've made the beginners mistake
of putting all three of their biggest hits first on the album. Tsk.
I'm a big fan of 'You think you're'
but my favourite track is 'the first'
God damn them!
I've been listening to 'No One Does It Like You' for nearly a year now, and it's great, but now they go and decide it's called 'No One Does It'.
DO THESE PEOPLE NOT HAVE ANY CONSIDERATION FOR LAST.FM USERS?
DAMN THEM TO HELL.
Solid 8/10
I like it. It's not incredible but it's really really good.
'Walls' is ace.

Well
What a review... listening to the MySpace tracks has convinced me to purchase this, sounds fantastic.
If I win this
I will actually cry my eyes out with happiness.
Ben Christopher is an absolute God
Really, he is.
I hope this doesn't affect the release of his 4th album... it probably will. Pah!
Still, should be interesting to see two of my favourite artists collaborating before my favourite artist plays.
I agree
But will have to book tickets anyway. Then they'll probably announce more dates for somewhere convenient and I'll be scuppered. Pah.
Any ticket information anyone?
Need to get my hands on some tickets...
Will be seeing Portishead, Bjork and these in a fortnight if I do, holy shit yes.
Is 'Big Dog'
the one they played at Glastonbury? If so it was the worst thing I've ever heard. And I love Guillemots. :(
What happened to Ustinov?
Or whatever name they had for the album?
Tax
I think that's self-explanatory. It would have been 'Razorlight' but apparently that's not in the dictionary.

I really like the EP, although the general consensus seems to be that it's shit
I think Splitting the Atom is great. The only weak track is the Guy Garvey one.
And I loved 100th Window, it's a fantastic album.
