gutted i missed this
didn't even know they were playing.
fantastic band live and on record.. must give sun gangs a spin now.
bloody hell
the lyrics to Williams' Last Words... 'poignant' seems an unjust adjective.
too true
batty boyz is funny. droll and tongue in cheek.
really good record, it's on spotify for anyone wanting to listen.
JDB
Probably got sick of writing music for Nicky's increasingly worrying "poetry"... see Autumn Song "Oh baby what have to your hair / done to your hair" and Underdogs "This one's for the freaks..." and so on. There definitely won't be a Miss Europa Disco Dancer or Wattsville Blues on this one, that's for sure.
I want
that Sleater-Kinney poster in the background to the first picture.
aaaaaand
what's more. it is aptly true.
in a fist fight
no contest really.
BUT, Glasvegas do have a girl amongst their number and no self respecting member of Metallica would ever hit a girl (unlike say members of other 80s US metal bands, mention no Guns N Roses names...) so perhaps they should let her rain down the punches.
I think she'd probably get worn out tho.
yup
let's hope they tour it...
It's
a bloooooooody long blog tho.
Great read but I had to skip a lot of it. I do like the bits where Paul seems to shout at himself and does admit to digressing several times... ;->
Great record too, and I really hope there might be a 10th anniversary edition with loads of extras, Dead Flower Rejects and vast sleeve notes etc.
I really like the new album
and thought they were pretty darned good at Reading too.
Boards
of Canadian Cheddar
Cat Power Shake
hahaha
that's a funny choice of video. nice one.
it
should have been after the block surely?
Bloc. Party Intimacy.
;-p
Unless
Paul McCartney wants the animal to be in his backing band.
This is
an awesome record.
Picked up a copy whilst in the Finn's motherland this Xmas.
Correct in saying that the live show is breathtaking and more visceral than the record, but still the layers and all the technical stuff I don't understand paints a beautiful aural picture on CD.
Compare and contrast:
Second Chance Live on Letterman

- there's quite a lenghty intro.

In my humble opinion, worth at least an 8 outta 10.
I have been
But only to one of the southern states, no where near the real big cities.
Can't recommend it enough. Had a great time and the locals were really lovely by and large.
Gawd
I remember seeing it on TOTP, which ages me no doubt. I thought it was awesome!
I hope the solo record will be equally kiddy and katchy.
not too bad really
Reading 2002: my old mini clapped out 1/4 way between home and the festival. Needed to get carried back on a flat-bed tow truck.
Car, seemingly fixed up by my very kindly and knowledgeable neighbour, we set off again (3 people, lots of beer and camping paraphernalia). This time we got to Pear Tree Roundabout in Oxford, half way to the festival, only for my little car to start leaking oil like it was going out of fashion.
I got towed home on a flat-bed truck again for the 2nd time that day.
flux was bad
this is new lows.
i just hope there getting this side of things out of their system ahead of the 3rd album.
credit where credit's due, they won't rest on their laurels and are trying new things.
aaaaaand
rumour has it that Babyshambles are up to their old cancelling-things tricks once more.
hence why Franz are taking their place.
and if it tanks
commercially, will there be a 3rd album or will they end up dropped?
Will be interested in hearing this. The single, despite it's short-comings, is really catchy.
no
i think it's johnny borrell ;->
Sleater-Kinney
by numbers. But that's not a criticism. Really good tune and really good album.
fair review
but 6/10?
in my humble opinion worthy of at lest a 7 if not 8.
The Last One is an amazing song, this is very true, and definitely one of the band's best yet.
indie???
mercury = major
agree with the review, a few really good songs on here. nice artwork too.
it is an awesome song
never got the album, but sad sad news that they've split. a great live band, consistently.
yep
i even put it on at a party once! king of the good times me :0
no
she's got a photo of gavin superglued to each tit. you wondered why she looked flat chested, it's cus her mamories were squished up behind ol' Gav's visage.
don't follow
why?
seconded!
bloody funny!
;->
brilliant
album title!
as far as I know
Six By Seven got back together didn't they. think they had an album out back end of 2005.
they're out of contract
with Geffen as far as I'm aware at the moment.
And yes, apparently Vivendi have a fwe questionable interests state-side, but not too sure what they are. there was once a post about it on these here boards too.
oh the irony
as i was reading this my last fm radio player went from Pavement to All Sparks by this lot.
I quite like Editors, nerr.
it's all about Publishers
contracts and so on, not the band.
Besides, Feeling Good is a cover anyways!!!!!
Dubliners
the new market research focus group for stadium rock bands, anyone?
interesting move on the band's part tho.
i'm guessing
he's still under contract so probably wouldn't be able to walk the earth selling them even if he wanted.
if only
transworld sport is bleedin' genious... or at least it was in the early 90s ;->
one drunk
one smacked of his chops and the other gurning in the corner mumbling in mancunian. should be fookin ace maaaayte.
or at the very least will be amusing in a "car-crash music" sense. ;->
"corporate
social responsibility" says it all really. meh.
on the contrary
i think they're ace and Go! Team live are really really good fun.
totally depends
eg
Manics version of Guns N Roses It's So Easy is the bollocks. Whereas their version of Train in Vain is just bollocks.
Siouxsie and the Banshees version of Helter Skelter is a fucking mint song.
Nirvana's take on Love Buzz is also awesome, as is their cover of Bowie's The Man Who Sold The World.
Some of the Live Lounge stuff has been quite good - as much as it pains me to say it The Automatic's cover of Gold Digger was funny and the covber Elbow did of One Thing was flippin genius!
or perhaps
simply spinning yarns and being sarcastic.
he appeared onstage
with them a few times, non? her certainly did when I saw them at ULU in december 05.
note the "h"
Which pub? I am never, EVER going there!
Interestingly there's a producer called Jony Rockstar, we are not related. Rockstar is not my real surname!!! tee hee ;->
and
please, please, PLEASE tell me that's not a pic from the event.
As much as I hate the idea of knighthoods and all that, PLEASE tell me that buffoon DIDN'T wear his fucking sunglasses to the ceremony!!
seconded!
Hence why everything's fucking Bi-lingual in your home country Bono you massive tosser! People HAVE to speak English cuz we're a nasty bunch who tried to eradicate your own national identity.
