"...it's unlikely to gain them any fans who've already dismissed them as hipster tryhards"
Definitely not true, I didn't like the first album at all but I've been playing this on repeat. And I really thought that was Jonsi on "Year of Silence".
Oh,
and I can't wait to see them supporting 65daysofstatic later in the year.
I think this album
is amazing. More like a 9/10 for me, just had it on repeat over and over and over again since I got it. Apples and Pears is incredible!
No idea
how to navigate that website...
And when you jumped on the items
right at very start of the game in the right order to gain invincibility. The items spelt out CHEAT! (Cake, Hat, Egg...etc, whatever it was).
Rubbish rubbish news
:(
First time I saw them was 4 years ago supporting Biffy, I went straight out and bought their album the next day, I have never ever done that before (or again).
A bit more news about it here:

Discovery
First album I ever brought. I enjoyed it for a while, then never really listened to it again after overplaying it.
Fast forward a few years later, my friends invite me to the o2 festival. Daft Punk were fucking amazing. One of the best live acts I've ever seen and I'm not even in to that kind of thing!
I bought a ticket
for Kings college in London when it was first announced because I shit my pants and thought it was a one off show. Now I realise I could probably have gone somewhere a lot close to home! (I live in Stoke, oops).
Skin, bone
and hair.
I have two questions by the way ;)
One used, one unused.
Well
the album "Futures" IS available now.
...
But I get what you mean :P
:D
:D
Ermmmm
What was the idea for the peacock album cover on "Chase this light"?
How does it FEEL knowing your songs have been listened to literally millions of times? (I mean there's nearly 20 million listens recorded on last.fm alone, and that's obviously just a tiny portion of the amount of listens they've had).
Why do people always try and make a joke about the fact the band names acronym is JEW?
Who would they like to support on tour if they could support anyone? (Past or present)
Who would they like to support THEM if they could chose anyone?
Did you get mega stonk-ons while recording the video for "The Middle"?
I tried :(
I look like a right saddo now
I didn't realise it was that long :/
I'm nearly 19 now
And from the first year of high school it was stuff like:
Blink 182
Coldplay
Feeder
Idlewild
Muse
Linkin Park
Progressing into stuff like:
System of A Down
Queens Of The Stone Age
Hell Is For Heroes
Hundred Reasons
Biffy Clyro
Lostprophets
(There was a lot of "Britrock" and "Emo" stuff being released then, most of my friends were listening to Thursday and Funeral For A Friend)
THEN stuff like:
Rival Schools
The Bronx
Radiohead
The Music
Bloc Party
Jimmy Eat World
Rage Against The Machine
The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster
Progressing into stuff like:
At The Drive In
Amusement Parks On Fire
The Mars Volta
65daysofstatic
Oceansize
Trail Of Dead...
Refused
yourcodenameis:milo
Million Dead
Reuben
Then into "heavier" stuff like:
The Dillinger Escape Plan
The Blood Brothers
The Fall Of Troy
Converge
Das Oath
Gay For Johnny Depp
Lightning Bolt
Meet Me In St Louis
(Some fairly recent bands there)
I've missed a lot out but that seems like a fairly large list and I can remember it all so clearly. I used to copy CDs for all my friends, I used to introduce as many people as I could to new bands, recommend them stuff, fill their mp3 players up for them, try and rally as many people as I could up to go gigs for bands they've never even heard of, many many things. I was VERY enthusiastic. I had a very good "teenhood" discovering all this music that was new to me, I went to about a million gigs. I can't ever see myself discovering so much "new" stuff in one go ever again :(
I love Kong
So much.
Their album
is ACE.
Haha
"It's a GOD.DAMN.SEX.TAPE."
I would have added:
Biffy Clyro - Puzzle
Circa Survive - On Letting Go
Dartz! - This Is My Ship
Die! Die! Die! - Promises Promises
The Fall Of Troy - Manipulator
The Go! Team - Proof Of Youth
Hell Is For Heroes - Hell Is For Heroes
Jimmy Eat World - Chase This Light
Meet Me In St Louis - Variations On Swing
Oceansize - Frames
Reuben - In Nothing We Trust
Tellison - Contact! Contact!
:)
Good article
Might want to fix that link at the end though :)
It was to match
the lyrics and their depth.
Mmm
fit.

Apparently.
"It's not gonna
make it better sit and talk about the weather when the weather do whatever and the weather is shit". Ace lyrics.
Rubbish single
works so much better on the album.
It's still
over an hour long! Plus there's a different version with another 15 minute or so track called Voorhees.
Argh
For some stupid reason I thought this was going to be something new from Refused!
Grappling over the phone holding the saucy photograph, Stockdale had only one thought:

Amazing!
I know
You've just got to be happy with what makes you happy and ignore what doesn't. But this man is a cretin and a shitstain on the underpants of...EVERYTHING.
I hope
he dies.
nsfc (college)
There were people all around me too :(
Sounds nothing like
Foo Fighters
The Scare
Again...fucking ace.
The Scare are ace
Love the new single Bats! Bats! Bats!
I think this song
is full on ACE.
This stood out for me
as soon as I listened to the album, ace song.
Hah
And this is number 1 listened to song on my last.fm!
The drumming
on loads of songs, is exactly the same! :-S
Their album
Out Of The Angeles (sic) is one of my favourite albums of last year, 10/10. Lovely people too.
I have no idea
how you came to that conclusion.
I agree with loque
Comparing them to Nirvana is a bit lazy. I don't know any two songs which sound the same at all. I really don't like Nirvana, Biffy on the other hand are one of my favourite bands of all time. For a three piece band with an amazing sound, songs which can have about 3/4 different choruses packed into one song, and catchy, yet with a nice complexity to them, you can hardly call them "tired and laboured".
Ace headline
:D
