Irredemiable

1 out of 10 is generous for this abortion... "Fiddy" - what an utter cunt. Still, the general public will love it and it will sell shitloads and pay for another private jet and mansion...

listened to the album and I think 5 out of 10 is harsh

it aint a classic but it aint completely awful either...

excellent review

to be fair they are a tolerable singles band for me, nothing more. I agree that The Martha Wainwright duet on Set Fire To The Third Bar is there absolute standout track.

Bivouac were excellent

now thats a blast from the past!

i think i've come in my pants

King Khan has a new record out! Whoop Whoop!

Can't complain at that score

agree it's a very disappointing record.

Bollocks to the people who think they are crap now

I'm a fan and liked their last record. Excited about this one too!

^ what he said

In Utero is the where Nivana is at.

lol!

best comment on here, better than the review even!

This review was actually very amusing!

Am a big fan of the Strokes so i'll probably buy this. Actually let me listen to it on Spotify first,,,

Completely underrated band

totally agree on the Mozalini's comments. One of my all time favourites.

worst band ever

the perfect score for twee student indie bollocks!

i absolutely love her

will be buying this,

love this band

why the fuck are they playing with joyless twats like Muse??

Sorry but Joey Belladonna era Anthrax was FUCKING crap

Alice in Chains are in every way superior and to be honest not really comparable. John Bush era Anthrax however was pretty good. anyway back to this, like what i have heard of this so far...

I really want this.

Hope Sandoval has a voice to melt even the most cynical of people.

Maybe I'm showing my age

but I don't get it, I can't get into this. To be honest there is no difference between this, Green Day or Good Charlotte , all sounds like MOR MTV friendly "Punk" inspired nonsense... Seriously bland... I'll go back to listening to the Big Pink instead...

Self obsessed? dear boy you really haven't grapsed the facts!

All rockstars with a modicum of success are self-obsessed. Ian Brown in a mentalist. I'm a fan and I think he has been consitently making decent but not world-class music during his solo career. I really did enjoy The John Barryesque The World Is Yours. He needs to do a crowd pleaser and ditch his differences with Messrs Squire and co to reform the Stone Roses. Don't like the Stone Roses, you have no soul...

Good review

and agree that Union is a very good album. Going to check out their first album too. Hope this lot get signed up soon.

very underrated band

am a longtime fan but how lazy are they? First album in nearly ten years!

Listened to it on Spotify today

thought it was absolute Rubbish. Soz. Just not feeling it...

I think its a fucking good record

and I am fan. I went off them for a while in the mid to late 90s but I regained my faith in them. I dont care if loads of poseurs on here who drink in the Cat and Mutton dislike them, i think they are ace and I don't give a flying fuck if people like Tom Edwards don't like them. If you'd rather cut your ears off then listem to them, please do.

Sorry - not only so I want my money back on this album

as it's pretty poor but I think I might claim for the precious time I have wasted never to be returned to be. Muse you owe me...

meh!

All of their songs I have heard all sounds like MTV lite "punk" MOR to me...well they have a fanatical following, they have sold 2 million records so they must be doing something right and I guess that cos I'm a) not a teenager or b) angst ridden c)into emo, I guess I am not the target demographic for this record. Good luck to 'em - I just don't get what's so good about this band...

listened to the album and it is surpisingly ok

didnt rate the first one as it felt like Chemical Bros lite but this one seems ok despite the plethora of reviews branding it as average. Not the DiS one of course!

love this band

and enjoying the album loads.

What I am extremely disturbed about is how Mr Frank's relatives are all on here attacking the reviewer,...

there seem to be a lot of accounts created just to comment back about this review! Okay 2/10 maybe a bit harsh and it isn't the worst music i have ever heard but nor is it life changing and different. it's just middle of the road disposable pop. 6/10 is probably a fairer summary. I agree he does look like a total douchebag with that haircut on the cover...WTF?!

I actually quite liked Monkey House

The last two albums have been utter dog shit though with little or nothing to redeem them...

CRABLIN HEY FUCKFACE LA ROUX ARE DOGSHIT

Are you fucking one of them or something to keep bringing it up??!! So I slagged La Roux off, live with it bruv! I stand by my comments about Florence which can all be backed up by fact as can how fucking crap La Roux are. And I never said Florence are shit. Hey are you Florence's manager hence the touchy reponse?? you really are a comical silly little man.

sorry but something about this record feels really contrived

This band have been hyped and built up by Island records for months. They even won some kind of especially made up Brit Award didn't they with maybe the odd single and a song on teen flick Wild Child's soundtrack only to their name? Don't get me wrong what I have heard of them is pleasant enough but to be honest not really that memorable or even ultimately interesting enough for me to fo back for more... Maybe it will grow on me, IDK. I can't help feeling Island Records have put all their eggs in one basket and to an extent I agree with Silent Command - this is def a record for people who read London Paper, Grazia or something for their musical recommendations.

Brody Dalle leaves me a bit cold

Never a fan of her previous band. Always felt like she was trying too hard to be punk. And I thought the music sucked too.

i want this record

am going out to purchase it? Is it out yet, sorry been out of the loop and well out of touch.

When I read the clunky opening lines of this review, I knew it would suck big time.

5/10? Great, that probably means it's a good album and I will like it, will buy it tomorrow, especially cos there have been so many other comments bigging it up. Also, Dandelion Gum is a great record so not sure where the cynicism has come from about them destined to either make good albums or flatline...

Superb record.

9/10 for me.

Good album and I have to agree its a solid 7.5

9/10 seems like hyperbole.

Bought it this week

and to be fair it isn't terrible but not does it standout massively. 5/10 maybe a tad harsh but I will need to listen to it a couple of more time before I can judge it.

Alvinrow - spot on son and good on you

this is ABSOLUTELY a COMPLETE borefest. Dylan has been boring and impotent for years. Blue collar rock inspired by Americana? I always preferred the pretender to the throne than the original i.e. Springsteen over Dylan. Dylan is welloverrated.

sorry this review is a disgrace

5/10? Try some otex, it might make it easier to hear the record properly...

Absolutely love this record and 9/10 is spot on

I can almost forgive Farris Rotter's cynical dalliance with that awful Geldof ferral sprog. This is a great record, inventive and interesting. For the record I really liked Count In Fives off the first album, menacing as it was sinister.

Well argued review

but it has made me curious about listening to it to hear all of that triteness!

I'm a huge Depeche Mode Fan and have been for years

But for me the jury is out on this album, I'm not all that keen and first impressions are its a 6/10 album. Not as good as Playing The Angel.

classic album from my yoof

i've lost my original so i'm def going to go out and buy this. 6/10 seems harsh? Is this score for the actual album or the whole reissued package??

I quite like this record

the electronic edge took me by surprise though.

Stumblein04- I agree to an extent

The single is amazing but I have to say the album does peter out into self indulgence. I have to say I am a big fan and am a bit disappointed. I'm hoping it will grow on me.

Great album

absolutely love it.

Ten is one my all time favourite albums

no contest.

loved the first album

must really get my hands on this one!

What the fuck?

soz - this is no way a 6/10 record, easily a 7/10. wash your ears out.
