Indeed - this review is a veritable popathon..
..something whcih I really doubt the album under review will actually turn otu to be.
"Pop" seems to have become a dodgy music hack term for any guitar band who aren't trying to sound like Radiohead or Animal Collective.
Given that Mystery Jets' highest ever chart placing for a single is a giddy 24, applying the label "pop" to Mystery Jets' music is plain wrong.
I like them, and tunes like "you can't fool me dennis" and "young love" are great - but Dizzee Rascal isn't going to lose any sleep about their next single knocking him off No. 1.
Hi Matthew
It was Pin Up Nights ( http://www.pinup-nights.co.uk ) who organised Blogger's Delight as part of our monthly club night. We've been organising gigs and events featuring loads of great bands and Guest DJs (from all over Scotland and beyond) since 2003. I'm not wanting to be a grump but it would be nice to get a tiny bit of credit!
Other than that small grumble that's a fine bit of writing. In particular I couldn't agree more about Findo Gask, I was very disappointed when they called it a day.
great value as always
especially the Facebook HERE IS MY DOG AND IT HAS ITS OWN PROFILE AND IS DOING MORE WITH ITS LIFE THAN YOU ARE ...and the Ladbroke Grove chat. Wendy if you read these comments here's my own take on facebook, twitter et al... http://www.pinup-nights.co.uk/fanz.php?ide=29
Absolutely superb
Just the right mix of weirdness and melody on this album.
And what about the voice of Geddy Lee..

This is a seriously downbeat list - where's Bizness, or Hawaiian Air, or The Look? Weird.
