But unfortunately I don't control the world's largest army.
Fiona lives at the bottom of a well, with only her wireless for company.
Our Colin has been known to be a little reactive at times though. Apparently he's dissing the patented Brainlove binary music criticism system.
I thought you knew me better than that by now, Colin darling. x
MOre DiS radio! YAAAAAAAAAAAAY about time
Vinyl is coming back, for a while at least...
But ultimately, yes, it's doomed.
CD singles will die. Along with the rest of CD sales, ultimately.
I didn't make the shortlist either, do think they'll give me 20k?
The Brainlove 5.
GABBA GABBA GABBA GABBA (hey).
Don't miss him for maximum fun :)
2) The Research
Have your heart broken and put back together again by three absolutely darling awkward indie-stars playing old fashioned pop songs that the Beach Boys would be proud of, rendered in gorgeous casio techni...sound.
3) Chicks On Speed
Who knows what to expect!
Well-crafted pristine, layered, heartfelt, 80's-retro pop music. Gorgeous.
5a) Darren Hayman
Closest thing you'll find to Morrissey at Truck.
5b) Penny Broadhurst
For all your poetry interlude needs
5c) Shimura Curves

I think I'm one of the few reviewers who did simply appraise what the album was. I make a priority to do exactly that.
Your pile will grow.
(out of the margin)
I was close to walking out with disgust. There was precious little magic to be found beneath the layers of stagey mid-song half smiles, histrionic, flouncy piano playing and faux-humble thank-yous. But I am holding some hope for the record, because the last song of the evening, 'Stars', was a glimpse of the Patrick of old... a beautiful, soaring, sparkling Bjork-esque effort...
There is a Libertine b-side, a remix and a new song (from a film soundtrack maybe?) on his MySpace.
Has anyone else got the Duracell advert that looks like a line dancing convention? Ace.
WE WANT FOOTBALL.
But it's very ... light. And flimsy. No substance.
Are you one of those people who is going advertise your web address on every post?
I didn't hear about it from a PR firm though, I got an email from a friend.
Thanks for ponting it out so prominently! We won't forget again.
I mean if it's album of the year, and it looks like for a lot of people it will be, it's one of the ten albums of decade.
who've reviewed Brainlove stuff on here have been a little cautious with the marks, rather than marking something high. I don't mind. I mean, my job is just to make sure things get reviewed at all, and the marks are out of my hands innit.
I dislike those kind of reviews.
I think it's more relevant to evoke the music in words than to create some kind of tedious checklist.
Most people don't even know Jose's version is a cover, and those that do think 'some dance band' covered it. Word of mouth about this record and their frankly amazing live show is going to take them pretty far. I can see them headlining festival second stages and such if they keep going at this rate.
Fatherfucker was a total yawnfest.
Jordan emailed me asking what a certain favourite track of his was because he'd lost the tracklisting. It was Napoleon IIIrd.
You ALWAYS give him good marks.
