Thought that Florence and The xx as headliners are a bit strange, but solid gold other than that. Well, not so much STRANGE for Florence, given the success she's had, but certainly for the xx.

Love that they've totally embraced melody, harmony and pop in general. Expectations of the record were different, of course, but it only really took one listen to properly get INTO it, and start loving it.

My experience of them was the same, though I always put the lack of enjoyment of the ATP performance down to the ridiculous heat as much as anything else. There was a group of about four girls who looked like their handbags had just been shit in.

Was kinda thinking this record might level off a bit from the inconsistency in the last one and it seems it has, which is good. If nothing else 'Ambling Alp' makes it worthwhile.

As for Mehmet Scholl...that one flew under my radar. May have read about it on here, though.
