yessssssss

ssssssssssssssssss

I know what you mean..

I was thinking that too.

I like the idea of someone dancing to their own music though and if thats the best way he can put it across then thats what he should do.

saw them in Cardiff last night..

They were excellent. There weren't many questions forthcoming though. Two of the three asked were from the same person.

you sure?

oh....yep.

I enjoyed reading this.

Thanks. Thought he came across honest, that's all.

The person describing him as an insufferable knob has made a judgement as bold as the one Gareth makes to prompt the criticism.

I hope the front

cover is better than that for tournament of hearts.

thats perhaps unimportant.

A Bassline like

Bouncing Jello Biafra.

Bristol gig

Is at the Thekla.

Maccabees - DiS

Kula Shaker - Q magazine.

yikes..

I, too, would like to headline.

I would also like to headline.

either of these but not the original one what i writ.

I, too would like to headline.

something has to give....

hahahahahaha

hahahahahahahahaha

lance bangs is

omnipresent. rarely see his face though. he made that Yeah Yeah Yeahs video from earlier this year. he been doing everything thats been done since 1981.

unfortunately that last sentence rhymes, but doesn't cheapen the fact.

I can live with....

no Bristol show. Used to it.
but Norwich!!

----

I mean no disrespect to the people or parish of norwich.

looks like I need to explain my earlier comment.

if anyone was offended by me saying "it seems the enemy have quite stupid fans" then I'm sorry. I was playing the part of an arrogant intellectual, bemused by the fervour of the working classes.

or I wasn't.

I am a thorough bum.

hmmmm

its "its chart position speaks for itself" speaks for itself.

half of

my previous statement is true.

it seems

The Enemy have quite stupid fans.

"The song starts with: "i gotta take a dump!", this makes me think about the times I take a dump."

I hate

their really banal observations that they seem to think are profound. I find their new song pretty embarrassing. I didn't think Coldplay had any ideas to steal but these lot are obviously keener listeners than I.

Perfect From Now On

Is my favourite. Its not as fun as 'Theres Nothing Wrong With Love' but is a pretty shattering journey(?!!?!??!).

The feeling I get when I'm on the train and I get all the way to the lines: "We're special in other ways, in ways that our mothers appreciate." toward the end of the album is nothing short of absolutely freaking amazzzzing!!!! Uplifting but never cheap.

..honesr?

honest.

Definitely true about them being honesr.

Doug seemed happiest when he shut his eyes , leaned back slightly, resting his belly on the guitar, and soloed his socks off. No amount of beard could hide the telling little smile on his face.

There was a chap at our gig who kept on saying: "Ten years, doug. We've waited ten years!" frequently. I felt it made things a bit awkward.

I saw them in Nottingham.

I was surprised to hear 'Joyride' I didn't expect Doug to be so happy to play it. They played 'Virginia Reel Around..' but I guess that ain't so surprising cos it's on the live album. Did they play them at the Fez Club? We only got 'Randy Described..' and an incredible 'Untrustable' from Perfect..

that interview

was painful!
After one of the really long silences I remember Simon asking if any of the band had ever been in a car crash.
Lets not forget that Simon isn't dead.

I hate Alex and Alexa equally.

agreed.

the intro sounds like GBV's beefed up version of Game of Pricks.

How on earth can someone whine "when I get high you always bring me dahhhhhhn" and not be joking.

theres a good video

on youtube of David Yow getting on the head with a bottle, falling over, being dazed, lying down and then getting up after a bit, swearing and eventually carrying on.

Why is someone..

wet because they have no thunder?

The riff is a rehash.

This is absolutely tragic.

The man has worked tirelessly and altruistically for nigh on 20 years, recording and producing since being in Government Issue. Given so much to music.

I dont like this song.

Didnt expect it to be so liked on here. I dont see the MBV comparisons. Is that just cos of the loud bit that sounds like Coldplay?

how..

did it get 3?

Correct me if I'm wrong

but didnt Terry Wogan break all of the winners?

I didnt do GCSE history.

It was in the same option box as Music and I did that instead.

As for talking about Oasis in the mid-90s...Do you mean compare them to other contempory music or New Labour?
There are plenty books on the subject, I'm sure you've read them. (I'd rather not)

Its all too easy to be extreme when criticising Oasis, but they're basically pornography. I cant see any positisves to their existence against bands like Fugazi, a band that feigns significance and has importance projected upon them compared to a band that genuinely matters, both musically and politically.

absolutely spot on.

Its difficlult to discuss Oasis without likening them to other lowest common denominator piffle the masses lap up.

because they're lazy and stupid. Or just dont care as much as us.

I read Kele cite Oasis

as an influence on Bloc Party because they were the antithises of what they wanted to be.(Pitchfork archives)

The Brits and Oasis belong together. Like The Nazi Party and Hitler.

I'm no doctror

but I'd advise them to rest....
for a long time!!!
in a vat of acid.

I also it when they said

that the lyrics read like an A-Level english student trying to impress their teacher.

geez...I've been there.

(I didnt say 'geez', its clearly a typo)
(ditto 'typo')
(ditto 'ditto')

Who is the idiot?

I thought it was quite obvious I deliberately mispelt it. Obviously not cos Terra didnt get it, and I'm not sure if you're defending my joke* or just as oblivious to it? and then is Terra telling you or I to Nob off?

*not sure it deserves this mantle.

I bet he cant even spell..

Lambergini.

^ this post is missing a most ^

guess where.

I saw them play a gig in a big room

in Wolvehampton a couple years back and it was the friendliest, ethnically diverse gig I have ever been to.

Everyone was bouncing about to Jane says at the end.

Start Spangles and Stellastarr supported. Utter utter shit and profoundly impressive respectively.

I have trouble believing

they've written the songs they play. They've been in a rehearsal and some has played something rubbish and that chap has shouted over it and other members have agreed.

They have done this again and again and again.

Excellent stuff. (this review,not song)

change their spots? (these leopards)

of course not.

Thank you for a smashing Razorlight smash.

I was so sure

the smack would've claimed Wilson by now.

"Dogs"

astounds me. Whenever I listen to it I wonder why I dont listen to it more.

I hope this album has an embossed sleeve like Dogs.

Damn straight IanJ

Young Liars is a stunner. Despite how I'm sure some people only listenned to it out of curiousity of the supposed novelty value of the cover (What?..Barbershop?...Haha,I'll check that out!!....).

There is no novelty to be had. It is just excellent. (Hang on...this is a bit good, guv)

Saw the video on 120 minutes last night.

The singer was stuffing her face with pizza. Also there was a Flex your head poster on the bassist's wall. And I enjoyed it a bit if it was a little long.

These elements combined contributed to me remembering the name of the band. And here I come onto DiS today and there they are!

I feel like such a pawn.

That be some guerilla Mackayism.

Good work familyman.

I find them pretty embarrassing.

It has nothing to do with opinion either. They are abysmal.

As for elitist snobs; they really get my goat.

Eddie Vedder

Invented that annoying voice. I'm not a Pearl Jamfan, but not gonna lump 'em in with Nickelback and such but Vedder voice seems the source of the mimicry/careers of countless diseased noises.

And Chris Cornell(?): Another founding father of bad voices.

Not sure Lostprophets

are that bad, perhaps we should celebrate their adept and rahther convenient evolution from a boil ridden noise bucket dressed as 'skaters' into the same but with more market friendly haircuts.

They make me retch.......

and........

.........................vomit.

more than the rest.
