What a predicatably boring list
from a man who wasn't even the most talented member in any of the (seminal) bands he was in.
"Hello Dave? Yeah, we'll give you a few quid if you bang on for a bit about social revolution, weed and guitars"
Depressing.
I saw an exhibition of The Fall
at the Praxis Hagen gallery in Berlin a couple of summers ago. Amongst the assorted 'inspired by' paintings etc. were a bunch of crackers painted with different album covers. It was cool, though I don't think the paint was edible.
So,
In your opinion, which British MCs are better?
Yeah
I think he's pretty good - a much better exponent of contemporary British folk music than, for example, Fionn Regan etc.
What?
Have you even watched the show?
A great musician,
but as far as his 'abstract comedy' shtick goes, I find someone like Paul Merton infinitely funnier.
And please, please, wake up to Black Books. Dylan Moran's 'curmudgeonly pissed intellectual' character is an abomination, What's-Her-Face is much better in Green Wing, and Bill Bailey's 'lovely idiot' isn't funny either.
Mark E Smith
wins a different one each year.
Wow.
Do you just rehash her opinions then?
Jack Vettriano
is an excellent artist, and his work is hardly aimed at those who 'don't like art'. I feel this is a profoundly ignorant comment.
I watched Annie Hall last week.
It's truly fantastic.
They do make
shitty videos though.
A fantastic scam though.
Screaming at foreign musicians and accusing them of holding drugs.
And easy too, I'd imagine. Follow their van from the show, and pull them over down the road a bit in the middle of nowhere.
Layne
was more than a little off when they found him, apparently.
I like them,you know.
They both seem like nice guys, and their live shows are intense and interesting, but everything that I've heard on record sounds pretty identical.
Chuck fucking Berry
Will be so very good.
An absolute hero of mine.
Old Rosie - brilliant.
Except in the Commercial Tavern.
It tastes odd and makes people totally bitchfaced.
Spot on
with the Ariel Pink reference.

Stealing the communal pot.
^
bosh
What a total
bunch of wankers.
Though, to be fair, any utilisation of the term 'shit-cunt' in an advert is partially redeeming.
Mary Anne Hobbs
is a disgrace. But this record is excellent.
Cor
Totally savage.
I never really
had any time for any artists who can be pigeonholed in that genre apart from Ye Wiles.
A really great band, doomed to play Tunbridge Wells and Brighton over and over and over.
Yes
A very strong song on the record.
I thought that they would probably bosh out Rev. Green as the second single, to be honest.
There's something about
the yank accent that suggests insincerity, to my ears.
The hackneyed hyperbole at the beginning also annoys me, but credit where it's due: he managed to keep the right side of MES's temper, which in itself is something.
Flamini
Mais oui.
I find
her excruciatingly dull.
That Dylan song
might be corking, though.
Yr
?
If you've
planned ahead to go and review an evening of music, why get shitfaced & miss two thirds of the bands?
Or was the night a spur-of-the-moment kind of t'ing?
Release the Bats
Will be totally sweet.
Why not?
They're both as bad as each other.
Unsure
to be honest. I'm sure he's great live, but I'm not totally convinced that it translates to record very well.
I thought that
He was totally shit at Frieze last year, and I've always thought that a spoken word polemic is dangerous ground.
Yeah.
La Mar is totally hype.
Well,
Who else would be in it?
Webbe? La Mar?
Totally love
N-Dubz.
I wouldn't worry,
They'll be slagged too, soon enough.
I don't really
like the Thekla.
Good though
I think. Yes, I'll probably go and see them there.
But
Hey Colossus are a bit shit though, aren't they?
How odd
to compare Nash & Nixey with Dylan.
Really?
I was under the impression that 'conjugal' wasn't usually in the lexicon of Emo bands.
But yeah, shit band.
He is
a pretentious fuck though, right?
I think
I actually agree with him in the first paragraph.
He's in the slammer, but Count Grishnak would probably hide in a bin and bang you.
Corking
band
I stand for
the slow integration of transvestites (a la Pink) into the music industry.
Well
I think he's a pretty good producer.

....
Even more depressing if he wasn't paid.
