What by people ineptly trying to find LA's boobs http://www.wwtdd.com/tag/lily-allen/
It was a really fun weekend
All 3 Melvins sets were great. Taraf, Dalek and The Locust were all fantastic. Did anyone else see Junior Brown? He played Apache! And Vocal sampling sang The Banana Boat Song! Amazing.
No mention of Harvey Milk?
That or Fuck Buttons is probably my favourite album of the year. There have been quite a few OK albums, but I've mainly been listening to older stuff.
To be fair,
I was at the back and it was so fucking quiet most people hadn't even realised that they'd started.
^getting it from emusic now.
A nice surprise, I had no idea this was coming out.
eh?
Wrong lesbian. It was Melissa Etheridge.
Nah, SKM were so, so boring (and I'm a fan).
I think I made the right decision to go and see Mercury Rev.
I had a great time.
Agree about AMC. Though they've always left me cold on record, I thought they were fantastic.
I found the Big Top to be a bit grim. Could they not have opened the sides up?
I love WFMU
They sometimes put mp3s of live sessions up on their blog. It's definitely worth checking...

Finnigans' chips? Really?
The saltiest thing known to man. I'm a big fan of the carvery.
Thurston can't stay away can he?
I saw them in 1993.
They were ok. I was more into Porno For Pyros at the time. "SUFFER YOU CUNTS!".
I don't think poeple know about Mike going.
I certainly didn't.
Wow, it is.
I just hope they're better than Silver Apples were.
White Noise?
THE White Noise?
It's on emusic.
Bargain!
I'll get this when I get home from work.
This was brilliant.
As was the Thurston Moore Nightmare. People who say this was boring fuck me off no end.
Those 2 ATP weekends nearly killed me.
After the first weekend I flew out to Barcelona to see Kraftwerk, and then back on the Friday for weekend 2. So exhausting, but musically the best week of my life.
Agreed.
Gruff seems like a pretty reliable witness. He always comes across as thoroughly decent.
I really am horribly out of touch.
Thought he might be one of the token leftfield choices. I like the new one, stick with it.
I think (hope) that'll be sorted this year.
I had to queue for about 50 minutes at the bar last year, not great.
I'm going!
I had a really good time last year.
Wow
This thread refuses to die...
^ I was just about to post this.
and now I don't need to....
ATP is a fucking nightmare...
..(well Camber, anyway) if you live in Cornwall. The worst time was at the Mars Volta one, when my 2 chalet mates had a blazing drunken row on the Sunday night (threats to kill, a bottle of red wine smashed against the inside wall of the chalet, security called etc.). I'd tried to get an early night as I was driving but ended up getting virtually no sleep. One of my companions refused to speak for the duration of the 7 hour journey home, not even thanking me for the lift when I dropped him off at his house.
I was so glad when it moved to Minehead. Though due to some particularly sketchy driving we nearly didn't make it to the Portishead NBC in one piece...
I'm not really botherd about the competition,
but has anyone ever bothered clicking through one of these mixtapes?
There's a world of difference between knowingly playing a free festival,
and not being paid if you expect to be.
It did sound ludicrous.
I think there were 8 arenas listed on the website.
Ok,
So had Wild In The Country?
They're dropping like flies....
it's never really been about the line-up though...
I thought they'd built up a decent following, but I agree £60 is likely to put off the uninitiated.
It's definitely my favourite festival and I'm pretty gutted it's not happening this year. Some of my favourite festival performances I've seen have been at Tapestry.
here's the full rant (after the Macbook bit)
Call me any name you want.... arrogant, conceited, narcissistic, racist, metro, fag whatever you can think of.... BUT NEVER SAY I DIDN'T GIVE MY ALL! NEVER SAY I DIDN'T GIVE MY ALL! THIS SHOWS NO MATTER HOW HARD YOU TRY TO BE GOOD AT SOMETHING THERE WILL BE PEOPLE THERE TO LIE ABOUT YOU AND BRING YOU DOWN! LIKE WAYNE SAYS PLEASE DON'T SHOOT ME DOWN CAUSE I'M FLYING! I'M FUCKING HURT BY THIS ONE. ALL I CARE ABOUT ARE THE FANS. JUST SAY THIS OUT LOUD IN A ROOM FULL OF PEOPLE, "KANYE DOESN'T CARE ABOUT GIVING A GOOD PERFORMANCE." CAN ANYONE HONESTLY SAY THAT ????????? HAS ANYONE EVEN TAKEN THE TIME TO AT LEAST DO THE MATH??? BONNAROO SHOULD HAVE RELEASED A STATEMENT IN MY DEFENSE BUT SINCE THEY HAVEN'T LET'S BREAK DOWN THE WALLS ON THIS TRUMAN SHOW AND LET YOU KNOW WHAT REALLY OCCURRED!!! FOR OVER A MONTH WE WENT BACK AND FORTH ON WETHER OR NOT WE COULD EVEN FIT MY STAGE AT THE FESTIVAL. ONE DAY THEY WOULD SAY YES... WE'D SEND THEM OUR SPECS THEN THEY THEY'D SAY OK... THEN THEY WOULD SEND SPECS BACK THAT DIDN'T FIT THE STAGE. WE WERE OBVIOUSLY DEALING WITH FUCKING IDIOTS WHO DIDN'T REALLY HAVE THE CAPACITY TO REALLY PUT ON THIS SHOW PROPERLY. THEY TRIED 2 GIVE ME A TIME SLOT WERE IT WAS STILL LIGHT OUTSIDE ... I HAVE A FUCKING LIGHT SHOW DUMB ASS, IT'S NOT CALLED GLOW IN THE DARK FOR NO REASON SQUID BRAINS! MY PEOPLE WORKED OUT A COMPROMISED STAGE PLOT AND A 3AM TIME SLOT AND I AGREED. FAST FOWARD TO THE DAY OF THE SHOW. MY PRODUCTION MANAGER TRIED TO LOAD IN FOR 24 HOURS BEFORE I WENT ON STAGE BUT THE FESTIVAL WOULDN'T ALLOW US TO DO ANYTHING UNTILL PEARL JAM LEFT THE STAGE. PEARL JAM ENDED ONE HOUR
LATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AT THAT POINT WE'RE RACING AGAINST THE SUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AT 4:20AM DON COMES BACK 2 THE BUS AND TELLS ME, " IT WOULD TAKE 45 MORE MINUTES TO PUT ALL YOUR PYRO IN!" I SAY I HAVE TO GET OUT THERE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE . I HIT THE STAGE AND PEOPLE HAD BEEN THROWING SHIT ON THE STAGE AND HAD ACTUALLY HIT THE JANE SCREEN WITH, I GUESS BOTTLES OR SOMETHING AND HAD BROKEN MY FUCKING SCREEN. REMEMBER WHEN YOU WERE A SHORTY AND WATER WOULD HIT THE TV?????? WHEN I GOT 2 "THROUGH THE WIRE" I STEPPED ON THE FRONT PART OF MY STAGE AND THERE WAS SO MUCH LIQUID ON THE STAGE I COULDN'T MOVE WITHOUT SLIPPING. I HAD TO ADJUST MY WHOLE PERFORMANCE STYLE BECAUSE OF IT. A FEW MORE SONGS IN AND THE SONG WAS ON IT'S WAY UP.. I CUT A FEW SONGS FROM THE SET BECAUSE I WANTED PEOPLE 2 EXPERIENCE STRONGER WHILE THERE WAS STILL SOME DARKNESS TO PERFORM IT IN. I'VE STRUGGLED WITH STRONGER FROM IT'S CONCEPTION. REMEMBER LAST SUMMER WHEN I CANCELED SOME TV APPEARANCES. IT WAS BECAUSE I DIDN'T WANT TO PERFORM STRONGER IN THE DAYTIME. ANYONE WHO CAME TO THE GLOW TOUR CAN UNDERSTAND WHY I WANTED PEOPLE TO SEE IT PROPERLY. IT BROKE MY HEART THAT I COULDN'T GIVE THESE FANS STRONGER IN IT'S GREATEST FORM... BY THE TIME I GOT TO STRONGER IT WAS DAYTIME AND IT BROKE MY HEART. I'M SORRY TO EVERYONE THAT I DIDN'T HAVE THE ABILITY 2 GIVE THE PERFORMANCE I WANTED TO. I'M SORRY... SOMETIMES I GO 2, 3 DAYS W/O SLEEP WORKING ON MY PERFORMANCE... I HAVE TO ICE MY KNEES AFTER EVERY SHOW AND THEY HURT WHEN I WALK THROUGH THE AIRPORT... HAVING AN EXPENSIVE STAGE CUTS MY PAYDAY IN HALF... CALL ME WHAT YOU WANT BUT NEVER SAY I DIDN'T GIVE MY ALL!!!
I think that's the Archie Bronson side-project...
The Pyramids.
