All 3 Melvins sets were great. Taraf, Dalek and The Locust were all fantastic. Did anyone else see Junior Brown? He played Apache! And Vocal sampling sang The Banana Boat Song! Amazing.

That or Fuck Buttons is probably my favourite album of the year. There have been quite a few OK albums, but I've mainly been listening to older stuff.

As was the Thurston Moore Nightmare. People who say this was boring fuck me off no end.

After the first weekend I flew out to Barcelona to see Kraftwerk, and then back on the Friday for weekend 2. So exhausting, but musically the best week of my life.

Gruff seems like a pretty reliable witness. He always comes across as thoroughly decent.

..(well Camber, anyway) if you live in Cornwall. The worst time was at the Mars Volta one, when my 2 chalet mates had a blazing drunken row on the Sunday night (threats to kill, a bottle of red wine smashed against the inside wall of the chalet, security called etc.). I'd tried to get an early night as I was driving but ended up getting virtually no sleep. One of my companions refused to speak for the duration of the 7 hour journey home, not even thanking me for the lift when I dropped him off at his house.
I was so glad when it moved to Minehead. Though due to some particularly sketchy driving we nearly didn't make it to the Portishead NBC in one piece...

It's definitely my favourite festival and I'm pretty gutted it's not happening this year. Some of my favourite festival performances I've seen have been at Tapestry.

MY PEOPLE WORKED OUT A COMPROMISED STAGE PLOT AND A 3AM TIME SLOT AND I AGREED. FAST FOWARD TO THE DAY OF THE SHOW. MY PRODUCTION MANAGER TRIED TO LOAD IN FOR 24 HOURS BEFORE I WENT ON STAGE BUT THE FESTIVAL WOULDN'T ALLOW US TO DO ANYTHING UNTILL PEARL JAM LEFT THE STAGE. PEARL JAM ENDED ONE HOUR

I CUT A FEW SONGS FROM THE SET BECAUSE I WANTED PEOPLE 2 EXPERIENCE STRONGER WHILE THERE WAS STILL SOME DARKNESS TO PERFORM IT IN. I'VE STRUGGLED WITH STRONGER FROM IT'S CONCEPTION. REMEMBER LAST SUMMER WHEN I CANCELED SOME TV APPEARANCES. IT WAS BECAUSE I DIDN'T WANT TO PERFORM STRONGER IN THE DAYTIME. ANYONE WHO CAME TO THE GLOW TOUR CAN UNDERSTAND WHY I WANTED PEOPLE TO SEE IT PROPERLY. IT BROKE MY HEART THAT I COULDN'T GIVE THESE FANS STRONGER IN IT'S GREATEST FORM...
