'works for' . Slight understatement.

#google

Beautiful and strange

I enjoyed it very much

How 'bout this:

Red Hot Chili Peppers
Captain Beefheart
The Weirdos
Lydia Lunch
The Dickies

Drive - great film, great soundtrack. Tasty.

Inner City Life

Inner City Pressure...

Answer is

The Antlers

Just got The Manual edition in the post...

...and it's beautifully crafted! I listened to the album on NPR stream a few times teh other day and it sounded great - can't wait to fully digest it!

Does anyone know if by buying the album/manual edition, you get full free access to all associated Apps or do you still have to download the free 'mother app' and then pay for additional bits??

This:

Sweet

like Tropicana

great album

awwwwwwwwwww yeah

I'm loving

this album very much!

Yeah!

I'm really enjoying this record!

The new album is mint

As always. Incredible band!!!

I enjoy this band

very much!

Pedant:

However, re. Surfer Blood - why would you go to visit Surfer Blood in California, they're form West Palm Beach, Florida!

:-)

Totally fair comments !

... just feel that DMST are getting missed out of the equation somewhat and wanted to redress the balance a bit.

This is a great release!

Interestingly, most of the reviews and press for this record talk about it revealing the roots of Broken Social Scene and don't mention Charles's other (and in my opinion far superior) band DO MAKE SAY THINK. To my ears, the K.C. Accidental material is far more reminiscent of the Do Makes than BSS and I recommend it highly to any DMST fan. Conversely, if you like this, check out Do Make Say Think!

This is simply

wonderful!

I like what I've heard so far...

I'm not a big fan of OLTA in comparison to TOTBL and Antics(although OLTA certainly had several really great moments!) but this new one pleases me much more. Seems to be a grower - songwriting feels a lot more 'substantial' than OLTA and the new album seems to have a really nice flow and thematic thread. Looking forward to digesting it properly when it comes out!

I listened to the stream of this record that's out there...

And really enjoyed it. Thought it had a really nice dark edge that was missing from Myth Takes (which I really enjoyed but thought had too much of a 'funk' influence compared to their first 2 records, both of which I love)... On the first few listens I think this record harks back a lottle bit to the sound of their debut in terms of its slightly stipped-back feel, it sounds nice and lean. Think I'm gonna prefer this to Myth Takes and look forward to getting the record in my mitts to fully digest!

POW!

POW!

Oh my

That part in the middle where they rip-off Nirvana's 'Stay Away' is pretty awful, no?

Just have to say...

I love this album - it make sme feel disorientated, macarbre, bizarre and spooked! LOVE IT!!!!

Amazing record

Really intense and wonderful!!!! Love it.

Really enjoyed watching that

Thanks!

London

fo'sho'.

Interesting...

For me, Bright Lights is their strongest collection of songs and my favourite album of theirs in terms of sonics/atmosphere so I welcome a return to these realms... however, I'd be disappointed with the new record if it's simply a pale imitation of former glories... it's a very fine line. It'll all depend on the quality of the songwriting and performance/recording so I'm really looking forward to hearing what they've come up with!

That PinkPop '92 show looks immense

check it out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqiQBGkhE9w

It just looks like Mr Vedder is struggling to comprehend yet is in ecstatic about where he is and what's going on... nice.

Beautiful record...

Love it!

Jeniferever!

Whoop!

I have to say...

The redux versions (remixed and remastered by B o'B) is incredible!! It's like he's taken a wet blanket off of my speakers!!! A load of reverb has been removed, it's been cleaned up and it's much more clean, crisp and articulate - you can really hear what they're playing and it sounds much more urgent, raw and passionate - great job - it's really breathed new life intyo an album I love. Hurrah!

yeah!

I like this and I think Mr Spearin is marvellous! Now, please go and make another Do Makes record... please.

Yaye!

Great song!!!

Truth:

I think we can all say that this review is terrible and the album is actually fantastic!

bring

it

Katy Perry

Nice shoes.

VECKATIMEST

Yes please.

AMANSET

Hell Yes. Promise of Love is one of my favourite records! Beautiful.

Pat Noecker...

played the bass in Liars, Aaron Hemphill being the guitarist. The bass was pretty important on the first record though I suppose...

What?

No Chinese Democracy?!?!?

Totally

incredible album!

Totally agree

Great record!!!!

Spot on

review. great facts and accuracy! I was up in th gods so couldn't hear what the hecklers were saying so thanks for enlightening me! Also, I was blown away by how quiet the audience were throughout the whole evening - I felt bad about the ice in my drink clinking when I took a swig!!! Great show. Hope Alan's OK.

This is addressed to the reviewer below...

"December!? There's no such track on Young Liars, I think you may be referring to 'Blind' perhaps? Call Stephen Malkmus because I think you need a fact checkin' cuz!!!!

Indeed!

but I already have tkts for Low and it's gonna be a Special Christmas show and they're likely to play stuff from the Christmas mini-album which is special... shame.

This is good news BUT

... London date clashes with Low's "Christmas" gig! DRAT!!

ATD-I

Love that bit after ATD-I finish One Armed Scissor and Robbie Williams goes "Can me mate have his chair back?" - chief.

Wicked!

I'm going to the Tufnell Park show. Supercool!

Pitchfork gave this record

0.2 out of 10...

That isn't

Bradford Cox singing the main vocal on Agorophobia... it's Lockett!

This record is great... but I prefer Cryptograms.
