That PinkPop '92 show looks immense
check it out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqiQBGkhE9w
It just looks like Mr Vedder is struggling to comprehend yet is in ecstatic about where he is and what's going on... nice.
Beautiful record...
Love it!
Jeniferever!
Whoop!
I have to say...
The redux versions (remixed and remastered by B o'B) is incredible!! It's like he's taken a wet blanket off of my speakers!!! A load of reverb has been removed, it's been cleaned up and it's much more clean, crisp and articulate - you can really hear what they're playing and it sounds much more urgent, raw and passionate - great job - it's really breathed new life intyo an album I love. Hurrah!
yeah!
I like this and I think Mr Spearin is marvellous! Now, please go and make another Do Makes record... please.
Yaye!
Great song!!!
Truth:
I think we can all say that this review is terrible and the album is actually fantastic!
bring
it
Katy Perry
Nice shoes.
VECKATIMEST
Yes please.
AMANSET
Hell Yes. Promise of Love is one of my favourite records! Beautiful.
Pat Noecker...
played the bass in Liars, Aaron Hemphill being the guitarist. The bass was pretty important on the first record though I suppose...
What?
No Chinese Democracy?!?!?
Totally
incredible album!
Totally agree
Great record!!!!
Spot on
review. great facts and accuracy! I was up in th gods so couldn't hear what the hecklers were saying so thanks for enlightening me! Also, I was blown away by how quiet the audience were throughout the whole evening - I felt bad about the ice in my drink clinking when I took a swig!!! Great show. Hope Alan's OK.
This is addressed to the reviewer below...
"December!? There's no such track on Young Liars, I think you may be referring to 'Blind' perhaps? Call Stephen Malkmus because I think you need a fact checkin' cuz!!!!
Indeed!
but I already have tkts for Low and it's gonna be a Special Christmas show and they're likely to play stuff from the Christmas mini-album which is special... shame.
This is good news BUT
... London date clashes with Low's "Christmas" gig! DRAT!!
ATD-I
Love that bit after ATD-I finish One Armed Scissor and Robbie Williams goes "Can me mate have his chair back?" - chief.
Wicked!
I'm going to the Tufnell Park show. Supercool!
Pitchfork gave this record
0.2 out of 10...
That isn't
Bradford Cox singing the main vocal on Agorophobia... it's Lockett!
This record is great... but I prefer Cryptograms.
the whole album
is great!!! Quelle surprise!
"rocked the house party at the drop of a hat"
Is that a Beastie Boys reference (shake your rump-ah!)???
This record
is already available on US import for those who are in need.
Not true
I have a Transgressive 2-disc set. The 2nd disc features the Hummer and Mathletics singles with b-sides and some of the live tracks they recorded at teh Nottingham Social.
I own this.
Marvellous
very exciting.
Lots of mentoins of Kyp's vocal work... how about Tunde's?
indeed:
Efterklang vs Les Savy Fav - noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!
dang
LSF do clash with Efterklang now. Thanks for that!
is this still correct?
On the board sonone's posted a different version where Efterklang and LSF clash - please say it ain't so Rivers!
Have Mystery Jets cancelled???
Gimme the truth!
the answer is
A). Of course not, you fool!
but I'd be willing to have a goa t removing all teh cheese and wine in France by consuming as much of it as possible when you send me to La Route Du Rock! Merci!
I'd add
the ATP that Shellac curated. It was phenomenal!!!!!!
yesh
"Two weeks" is simply darling! Can't wait for the record!
Well
I'd say it's more influenced by the Penrose/Escher Triangle than by that DEP cover...
School trip to Iceland!!!
best school EVER!
I'd
put it down to people likiing/appreciating/enjoying different music. You think it barely deserves a 2.
If someone else thinks it's a great album, (shock horror) - it might, just might be because they actually really enjoy it?! Ever think that might be a possibility?
i concur
Great book
Why don;t we go back a bit and...
talk about Quicksand who were far superior to Rival Schools... in fact Quicksand were really rather incredible.
Yo
Glad you're all OK! See you next week. x
London
Please
Dudes
GO to the roundhouse website for ticket - less expensive the Seetickets and not sold out (last time I looked).
Totally Beatles
Thought it was more like "Blackbird" though.
It's probably my least favourite song on the record because to me it's the most obvoiusly-derivative.
My favourite at the moment is Arpeggi which I just think is grogeous gorgeous gorgeous!!!
O MY GOD!!!!
I REALLY can't wait for this now. i love Efterklang and can't wait to see them at Bush Hall!!!! Hurrah!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice review
but it's Travis BeaN.
Good work though.
Yes please

Happy Birthday
Yo!

Interesting...
For me, Bright Lights is their strongest collection of songs and my favourite album of theirs in terms of sonics/atmosphere so I welcome a return to these realms... however, I'd be disappointed with the new record if it's simply a pale imitation of former glories... it's a very fine line. It'll all depend on the quality of the songwriting and performance/recording so I'm really looking forward to hearing what they've come up with!
