Deets?
STTTTTTTRRRRRRREEEEEETTTTTTTTT.
FNM were beyond awesome
I'm almost glad hardly anyone went to see them as it meant we had a prime spot, no dickheads getting in the way....
Thought I can't agree with the Deftones verdict. I thought Chino's voice sounded horrendous. He can still croon but his screaming voice is just shredded these days.
I'm not saying "amateur = bad". I'd be an idiot hypocrite if I did.
But if you write for a living you're a professional. Otherwise, you're an amateur. Them's the facts of the matter.
They'd STILL be amateurs.
Who they write for wouldn't change that fact.
Oh man.
That reads like it was one painful interview.
I am genuinely excited about all three.
The rumours about the after-hours stuff at Sonisphere are the most impressive (outside of Glastonbury) of any UK festival ever. Download even at its weakest (ie, last year) still has more good bands than it was possible to watch. And there is nothing more tr00 than Bloodstock.
Was 'Always Outnumbered....' really underwhelming?
And if so, why is the return of Keith Flint & Maxim on vocals such a bad thing ("c'mon, Liam dropped them on Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned for a reason!").
Maybe I'm just being confused.
I've put my reply
in the wrong place.
Science has proven that Excessive Hyperbole is a major cause of Backlash.
Just saying is all.
Take That covering Smells Like Teen Spirit
Youtube it and see the horror.
Is it smug? Is it a rant?
I don't think so - I think it'll be painful reading for fans of the band, but it's in no way dishonest. It says that the album has "no outright clangers...[but remains] light years away from producing anything of real spark" - considering the band are stuck making genre music that sighed its last gasp of vitality out years ago, it's not really a surprising verdict, is it?
I think this is the best "middling" review I've ever read on this site.
Maybe because she's not *that* good?
I've seen her live and listened to the records, and I still don't see what's so amazing about her.
The world doesn't need another site where only "positive" reviews get published.
Tell it like it is. If a reviewer thinks something is shit, then let them say so. Concentrating on the the positizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz is boring.
I want to see him play with a band after reading this
I saw him play solo in the summer of last year and he was ace - i'll be interesting to see what he does with more people
DOn't think you missed much
They hardly seem like sparkling interviewees.
AC/DC turned down a bigger fee than the RHCP got for last year
And the RHCP fee was the biggest that Festival Republic ever paid a headliner for Reading / Leeds.
AC/DC turned down £1.5million for Download as well - they want to put on their own show, rather than be a draw at someone else's
"painfully literal"
Pull your head out of your arsecrack, son.
Wow
A little behind the rest with this news piece, aren't we?
The Boogaloo in Highgate
Under-rated gem of a juke-joint.
I have a sampler too...
Yet I must've heard the same record as the reviewer as I also thought it was stinking gash.
Part of me questions
the people taking part - if you're genuinely keen on making your band successful and not something that will see you in a financial black hole forever, why wouldn't you have checked to see that what was being offered was such a poisoned chalice?
I think it's a great reminder
of how good Eighties Matchbox are. Massively looking forward to their show at the Scala
He is playing...
...a free show at The Boogaloo in Highgate on Sunday 22nd July.
And not the only review...
...to spot the Sonic The Hedgehog connection! Check 4 paragrpahs down:
I remember....
...seeing them play a gig at Bar Oz in Reading just before they signed, and even then they were ten steps above anyone else.
What's with all the hate...
...at how the review is written? I think it's well written.
Disagree with what the words say, but not how they've been put together.
I dunno
I've always quite liked them. Nothing spectacular I'd go out of my way for, but not the shite-storm some people think.
I thought he'd sold all
his Katrina-outburst up with the dissing of the JusticeSimian video.
How wrong was I.
They were tedious even then
It was just a double shame that the Hackney Ocean charged so much for beer I couldn't drink myself into unconsciousness
Agree grade...
...and comments, RE: In Flames not being able to follow LoG. I just got bored and went off to try to buy some overpriced beer.
Top notch interview...
...and definitely not just another boring Q&A. They were fupping ace on Thursday and I'm looking forward to getting a legit copy of SNW the moment it hits the shops.
all of last night
sounded great
Booooooorrreeedddd
Well that's a review that says fuck all about nothing. You could've stayed at home and written that staring at a wall

That'd be the same Trent Reznor who had a decade of major label backing and promotion before striking out on his own, right?
He's not exactly a business model that everyone else can emulate.
