yeah
he was mentioning something similar when interviewing Shannon Stephens on the Asthmatic Kitty site:

YES
yes yes yes. been waiting all year for this record... only to discover it wasn't to happen for a while longer. Hooray.
every time*
wordfail
awesome
definately going to put this on today after reading this. Your review really does it justice. One can argue that its simply made up of possible ten of the bands best songs: for me personally, Harborcoat gets me every thing, So. Central Rain simultaniously does "dark" & "pop", Little America is spews left-American vitriol & Camera is just, well... that little 12-string-solo bridge is just rather perfect
ahh
good one... and yeap - if the 'live version' of Remade Horizon was on Bitta Orca, it'd have claimed album of the year hands down. That riff!!
a bargain
doe £21.50.... can't wait to see them again.
ahh
i really wish them luck with the LP... i wish my band had the guts to give it a shot post uni. (and we (were) split glasgow-cambridge-london-southampton)
sweet!
broken Records are awesome. As are Camera Obscura. Since the beggers merge, 4AD just keeps looking better and better
its so so so all about
Colorado by Grizzly Bear
true
and especially since its a really underrated album
haha
so you review Marissa Nadler's new record two months early and DoE like four months late??
gah
at you already having this!!
great review
i mean, its amazing isnt it? I'm shrouded in mystery and you'd never bet that less then 10 years later they'd be the biggest band in the world judging by this record (its brilliant but so perfectly between mainstream and alternative in the elements that make mainstream appeal).
definately 10/10
wow
this version of the song is about as far from Crow Sit On Blood Tree as you can possibly get.
mafia ties
makes me think Hot Chip should do an album based on Goodfellas.
^^^This
I'm sure James' output will continue to be brilliant, but LCD live was really something special - i count myself lucky I saw them 3 times over the years..... That Astoria show..
i was there on thursday
and it was pretty amazing, no Obama speeches but an incredible performance! 9/10 IMO
ahh
i just heard of this person so I'm hoping its better than DiS say!
piano
its a little out but hey, the song still sounds amazing
woo
i'd watch it but i'm at uni. Lame.
what a great record though
not really
its pretty standard Radiohead - humans destroying their planet, bit by bit. Its a beautiful video. I'm sure the guy doesnt care that he ONLY got £5k for it as know he's got "oh yeah, i made the video for a radiohead single" on his CV.
Its more relevant to the song than the other videos they've made for In Rainbows (which in just involved them - although that All I Need tv add/video thing is amazing)
gah
"oh nobody likes us anymore...."
Calls for TCTC reforming start now. With Didz. And with 2002 production. Lets do things properly.
them and their stupid live thing
why! why why why! at least they've got TV On The Radio on board... and Elbow are finally getting some recognition obviously
haha
rob from ET is such a legend
yep
the airport line is an absolutely amazing song.
good news
but are any of the songs going to be anywhere near as good as Nowhere Again?
something along these lines
but sweet!
you're wrong
if you actually listen to the words you'll see the irony...
cannot wait
i really really can't wait to hear this record. It was pretty insane to hear live back in May but it sounded really promising.
I'm starting to believe those Field Music folks can do no wrong. Sea from Shore was so brilliant... although David was still complete overwhelmed apparently by how good Peter's new songs were
yep
what a legendary band
^^just turn up as doors open
and watch everyone else. Its pretty simple. I remember being in the Dublin Castle for the first act the year Winehouse headlined it and it was easy to get in
Beat Pyramid
you're kidding right?
Third for the win
please
do not put "TV On The Radio" and "Leak" in the same sentence unless you are informing us about something to do with it leaking. Its not fair.
thank you.
yeah thats what i thought!
to be fair i do really dig stainless style (bar the first two hip-hop songs).
Third should really, really, really be on that list
Elbow for the win. Its about time. Richard Hawley should have won with Coles Corner. Last year was just a joke. I don't have high hopes that they will actually win but they deserve to. Although In Rainbows is the strongest record on that list
wow
thats messed up.
is
School of Language / The Week That Was on the same night?
cool
can't wait, it was pretty sweet last year. Great to hear Fandango are putting out "Slow Parade" by Broken Records too.
yep
they were amazing at Werchter, what a great start to the weekend. The horn section really fills out the gap in their live sound.
ouch
i was wondering how a Beck gig that features a "spontanious conga-line" could be disappointing!
they dont do sit down orchestra gigs anymore
if you'd seen them this year, you'd know its pretty much a 90 minute freak out.
Third for the win.
this is the thing with Elbow
they get lumped into the MOR Dad Rock catagory but its clearly because people don't give them a chance.
Ok, Leaders... has some MOR but Asleep In the Back and The Seldom Seen Kid are just stunning. The debut is so much moodier and heartwrenching than any other british Indie band will ever manage for god knows how long. And the new record just sores high and its amazing and uplifting and cleaver and Guy Garvey is amazing.
to quote the hives
Hate to say i told you so alright.
i never thought Black Kids were capable of much.
hahaha
another one for the "classic tales of the east anglian music scene 1995-2008"
good interview
Shara really is quite a talent and it'll be amazing to see what she comes up with in the future. The new record is quite stunning!
Also, she definately deserves credit for the MBD live experience - switching between the Rock Trio thing being backed by a string quartet and it always being amazing!

yeah
spot on with the review- its a tad long. She's a thrill live though, this record help revive a summer-music drought / lack of loop-pedal motivation for me.
