great stuff again
I'm really enjoying this week so far
Really great job.
I only really got into dubstep and the like within the last 3 years (Untrue was my introduction) so it's nice to hear the earlier stuff and its good to hear how the music has progressed. It makes you appreciate how much has been going on over the past decade and there's probably a lot more to it than some people might assume.
a)
Tender Prey
This band is not the enemy
how could you bash a pop band for having absorbed a repuatable set of influences for once, compared with the usual post Strokes/Libs/ *shudder* Arctic Monkeys stuff? Perhaps thier influences are more apparent because they consist of a more eclectic or unique set of bands, compared with many generic pop bands whos record collection begins with up the bracket and ends with whatever people say I am.....
M83......
is my favourite, TV on the radio and Deerhunter are also great.
MGMT was my "soundtrack to the summer".
Frightened Rabbit and Bon Iver were great for nights in, and Metronomy was the best pre night out album you could stick on.
Loved Fly-Lo too :( Whats everyones DVD of the year? Part of the weekend never dies? A cross the universe?
Something else I enjoyed this year which I havnt seen on any lists yet.... The Dodos.....
