Karen O...

Does she know that she's dressed like the Ultimate Warrior?

It's easy

To shoot down the obvious targets isn't it? pffffffffffffft.

Was going to rant

But then realized all my proposed alternative choices are essentially American. So I'll shut up.

yes..

yes. My single review on DiS has abruptly and firmly brought about the end of the indie fetishisation of Bruce Springsteen. Yes.

shoes

a) shucks, thanks
b) at home. I will return. Sorry!
x

It probably is a case of necessity

but, is that a bad thing? It's about working directly with fans... those who really want to hear a new record will contribute money, those who don't wont.

Bitch all you want, but at least they're being proactive.

Wow

let's wrestle are mental. kudos

But stuff is going up there right now...

new blogs, coupla videos, that kinda thing.

booze, drugs and bad internet

x

Everyone's

been doing a Sub Pop feature this year, because a) they're a notable label with a great story b) it's their 20th birthday. c) most hacks are around the age whereby grunge was like, really important to them, man.

Copying pitchfork? hmmm. stoopid accusation this time, isn't it?

add in the fact that we've been sorting these words for ages, it's hardly an on-the-morning decision, is it?

I hate replying to these things, because they're pointless and stupid (like the comments most of the time). But occasionally, I do get pissed off.

Fuck off.

Plan B comp

got some different things on it - the Sky Larkin track on Plan B comp is a demo of Antibodies. Which is cool. It's gonna be on the album.
x

I think they're

playing the 02 arena and then Indigo - or Matter, as it's seemingly called now - for the aftershow...
but it's all conjecture and rumour.

ANYWAY>

Selecta-disc = sister ray

Sister Ray bought Selecta disc a few years ago and moved itself into the property (from down the road on Berwick Street).

So yes, essentially, it is Select-a-Disc's store in administration.
x

sad face

for real.
x

sometimes, youtube is a good thing.

usually it's bad. But now it's good.

No, it doesn't count

in my mind... you have to be able to see the sky above you.

though the refreshments at the 02 are stadium price, granted..

x

This is a very very good record.

that is all.
xx

oh.

done.
x

it's the right link.

It's just not 'ready' yet - see the text on the site saying:

Check back soon for more artist announcements and your chance to win tickets.

but i will 'reflect that' in the news story.

x

I will defend that statement...

barefisted to the death.

It's not actually him though,

is it?

Yeah

drowned in sound readers are such pricks.

I should have written about a Foals documentary.

arf.

twentynine, you win nothing.

LAZY.

Lemmy: The Movie - watch trailer here now

In what promises to be the best rock film since Metallica cried themselves to sleep in Some Kind Of Monster, there's a forthcoming film about Lemmy, he of Motorhead and general destructor of all that is nice.

The trailer itself is rather superb and features appearances from the likes of Dave Grohl, Slash and Alice Cooper.

We recommend you watch, as long as you don't mind, or are in a place where other people don't mind, a lot of 'fuck's. Cos there really are quite a few of 'em.

There's no set release date, but check out the website.

Mike and Kev are in Barcelona

Alex and Gareth are listening to the Artrocker Unsigned CD in the office.

double cunts.
x

Not sure which band you're talking about

...no scheduling to hand... but i don't think that's the final, established running order. plus BBC stage finishes early for bands, I believe...

some of the tens of thousands of people

who bought puzzle but haven't bought any of the other records?

AS JJ72 once said...

Oxygen - we don't need it.
x

I think

it reveals itself on the third or so listen...

x

I really really

F**king Love JoFo. SO MUCH

AmishHipster...

I like your username

Not to defend myself, but...

I didn't want to put Magic in there, because it's the most recently released and is getting all the promotion it needs already.

For Born in the USA, I kinda thought it didn't need highlighting too much, though it is obviously a great, great record.

And I was conscious of picking 5 albums released sequentially.

Im personally not too keen on the first two Springsteen records.

I was tempted to put the triple live album in there instead of the Rising for interest's sake, but is there a better 9/11 album? Surely it's worth it for the way it tackles the biggest American issue since Vietnam? And there are some GREAT songs on it.

mmm. I love the Boss.

BON IVER

"Bon Iver’s debut For Emma, Forever Ago goes in at 43 after an affecting performance on Later With Jools Holland last week."

what you mean Al, is that you and I were holding each other in a hotel room, weeping, following heavy nights previous and a long longing for home and shelter.

I love you Al.
x

THEM AND US

duly edited.
x

there's a link in the story...

where it says 'click' or something...
x

fucking pedants..

okay... stripped down as band performance.. sigh.

I hung out with the JoFo a bit this month, and they're awesome.

but mainly they need many hugs and a lot of love.
x

Does this mean..

That Dom is going to stop writing in a few years in order to follow his own misguided criteria for being a 'real' journalist?

fingers crossed.

x

Im slightly disconcerted

...that you think I could be in league with those guys..

My mouth aint big enough to suck that cock...
x

I think it's a very acceptable affair

however, I wanna know who is doing / collaborating on the artwork.

can't remember if I heard that Radiohead were getting involved.

I can't see them not, just for the sake of quality control (presentation-wise)
x

You'd think

but the truth is that the next few months, there will be a LOT of radiohead news - because they're important (as it were) and keep doing things, and the record company exes (EMI) keep choosing to profit from them.

Wait till the summer with all the gigs...
x

It's tough...

but I couldn't have a radiohead compilation without Let Down on it..
.x

where's WOOD

taking place?

too lazy to google.

tends to be the way, doesn't it?

it's odd for a band to rehearse / relearn a whole set and then not play it around a bit?

But of course, they may not...

But I would think so...

maybe I didn't cut and paste then

my attitude?

LOL.

Yes it is.

Yes it is.
x

I looked up what aphorisms

meant. Thank you.

My aphorism different from yours how?

I can't believe that you're bothering to defend an album that you yourself have branded as merely 'passable'.
